Book That s My Super Mommy

Download or read book That s My Super Mommy written by Tracy R. Neal and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2014-08-30 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I am a first-time publisher who is determined to give a reassuring childs voice to the current phenomenon of changing gender roles in the modern household. Most people are aware that women all over the world have become, more often than not, the breadwinners in many households. As a mother of 3 who has recently gone through a divorce, I see women my age and younger struggle with this situation on a daily basis. Not only do they deal with the professional and social pressures of their changing socio-economic roles, they have to deal with their spouse or significant others, as well as family members, reactions to them working outside of the home. Finally and most importantly, they have to deal with the overwhelming guilt of being a successful woman while raising their children. They are constantly trying to prove to themselves and to others that they are worthy, capable, loving mothers. After years of observation and participation in this scenario, Ive noticed that women often torture themselves unnecessarily. My book provides a childs perspective and helps ease some of the pressure of mommy guilt that we put on ourselves and other moms.

Book Supermom

Download or read book Supermom written by Tiziana Rocca and published by Ipoc Press. This book was released on 2010 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today more than ever, having children means coming to grips with constantly rising expenses and with the fact that Mom almost always needs to work outside the home. That, in turn, means that Mom has to deploy her forces along a hundred different fronts. This book is a guide - based on Tiziana Rocca's experiences as a wife, mother, and director of a highly successful public-relations firm. "Like all mothers," Rocca writes, "my days are spent performing somersaults as I divide my time and energy between family and work. I've always got a million things to do, and each day is an obstacle course." Notwithstanding these difficulties, Rocca believes that Mom (with a capital M!) is the cornerstone of the entire family structure, essential to children's emotional and cognitive development. She writes with compassion, humor, and conviction about the unique strength of women and mothers: the power to "never give up and never give in."

Book Tales of a Slightly Off Supermom

Download or read book Tales of a Slightly Off Supermom written by Deb DiSandro and published by Pelican Publishing. This book was released on 2003-01-31 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humor essays from a radio host and syndicated columnist who is the “Erma Bombeck for a whole new generation of frazzled moms and dads” (Amy Carr, Daily Herald). Disguised as an average soccer mom, she’s faster than a speeding toddler, more powerful than a teenage temper tantrum, and able to leap loads of laundry in a single bound! Deb DiSandro is here to save the day. Her hilarious, heartfelt essays on the ages and stages of motherhood are sure to help families everywhere see the humor in their own foibles. From bringing home the new baby to dog training and the thermostat wars, Supermom has seen it all. She has negotiated peace over paint finishes, she has overthrown the powerful regime of the kitchen gadgets, and she has even pinned down the elusive wild teenager in the farthest reaches of suburban malls. But this mom is slightly off: she finds humor in her teenager’s unintelligible mumbling, in the dog’s flagrant disobedience, and in her husband’s merciless drive for the perfect dimmer switch. “Deb DiSandro is not slightly off—she is straight on target. Her essays bubble with wit, freshness, and ever-so-real life.” —Jacquelyn Mitchard, #1 New York Times–bestselling author of The Deep End of the Ocean “Anyone thinking of committing to parenthood needs to read Deb DiSandro. Her humor and wisdom on the subject of child-raising may help you appreciate the many advantages of getting a Yorkie instead.” —D. L. Stewart, author of Paternity Ward “Deb DiSandro’s instincts about family life are sound and her perspective refreshing.” —William H. Doherty, author of Putting Family First

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What happens when a perfectly content, married woman adds children to her orderly world? Her life is turned into an absurdist comedy. One in which the characters throw tantrums glue their sleeves to their pant legs. Supermom Breaks a Nail is a humorous account of one modern mother trying to navigate her way through the avalanche of child-rearing advice as best she can. Can’t children just get together for a few hours - or must we sacrifice an entire day to a “playdate”? Exactly how many IQ points does childbirth delete? What happened to names like “Sue” and “Bobby”? And what happens if we buy into the whole mythology? Sometimes motherhood is more about trusting your own instincts than subscribing to the actions of others -- and always have a bottle of wine at the ready.

The great joys of parenting are hindered by harsh self-doubt and a chronic lack of physical and emotional energy. In Mommy Power, Sheila Schuller Coleman helps women understand that while they really don't have the power or strength to handle the demands of motherhood alone, they don't have to. Mommy strength, Sheila says, comes from asking God to lend some of His, knowing He will never fail to provide. God will enable anyone who asks to become a powerful mother who loves strong, forgives strong, and models a strong faith.

Book excerpt: Become empowered to face your own messy, complicated life with fresh courage and bravery. Undone is author Michele Cushatt's quest to make peace with a complicated life. It is an honest confession of a diagnosis of cancer and the joys and disappointments of motherhood and marriage, ripe with regret over what is and, yet, still hopeful for what could be. With enough humor to ease the rawness of the story, Undone takes you on a roller-coaster two-year journey through the unexpectedness of life. A look back makes Michele long for a do-over, the chance to make fewer mistakes and leave less of a mess to clean up. A look forward makes Michele wonder if all her attempts to control life have robbed her of the vibrancy of it. And, in the middle of this internal chaos, she finds her once-pristine house filled with the sights and sounds of three small, uncontainable children who just want to be loved. In the end, Undone turns complication into a beautiful canvas, angst into joy, and the unknown into an adventure, revealing that sometimes life's most colorful and courageous stories are written right in the middle of the mess.
