Book Tetraazacyclotetradecane Species as Models of the Polyazacrown Macrocycles

Download or read book Tetraazacyclotetradecane Species as Models of the Polyazacrown Macrocycles written by Ryszard B. Nazarski and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three aliphatic molecules and their subsequently formed protonated congeners are considered as representatives of the macrocyclic polyamines (azacrowns) and related polyammonium salts. Important methodological aspects of structural investigations on these highly mobile aza-substituted macrorings are taken into account, especially concerning aqueous solutions over a whole pH range. This book examines various issues about ascertaining donating sites and sequences of the protonation, dynamics and conformational preferences of such multidentate polyamino ligands as potential chelators (complexones) are considered.

Download or read book Nuclear Magnetic Resonance written by Krystyna Kamienska-Trela and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2012 with total page 499 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a spectroscopic method, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) has seen spectacular growth, both as a technique and in its applications. Today's applications of NMR span a wide range of scientific disciplines, from physics to biology to medicine. Each volume of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance comprises a combination of annual and biennial reports which together provide comprehensive coverage of the literature on this topic. This Specialist Periodical Report reflects the growing volume of published work involving NMR techniques and applications, in particular NMR of natural macromolecules, which is covered in two reports: NMR of Proteins and Nucleic Acids and NMR of Carbohydrates, Lipids and Membranes. In his foreword to the first volume, the then editor, Professor Robin Harris announced that the series would be a discussion on the phenomena of NMR and that articles will be critical surveys of the literature. This has certainly remained the case throughout the series, and in line with its predecessors, Volume 40 aims to provide a comprehensive coverage of the relevant NMR literature. For the current volume this relates to publications appearing between June 2009 and May 2010 (the nominal period of coverage in volume 1 was July 1970 to June 1971). Compared to the previous volume there are some new members of the reporting team. Theoretical Aspects of Spin-Spin Couplings are covered by J. Jazwinski, while E. Swiezewska and J.W̤jcik provide an account of NMR of Carbohydrates, Lipids and Membranes.

Book Tables of Spectral Data for Structure Determination of Organic Compounds

Download or read book Tables of Spectral Data for Structure Determination of Organic Compounds written by Ernö Pretsch and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although numerical data are, in principle, universal, the compilations presented in this book are extensively annotated and interleaved with text. This translation of the second German edition has been prepared to facilitate the use of this work, with all its valuable detail, by the large community of English-speaking scientists. Translation has also provided an opportunity to correct and revise the text, and to update the nomenclature. Fortunately, spectroscopic data and their relationship with structure do not change much with time so one can predict that this book will, for a long period of time, continue to be very useful to organic chemists involved in the identification of organic compounds or the elucidation of their structure. Klaus Biemann Cambridge, MA, April 1983 Preface to the First German Edition Making use of the information provided by various spectroscopic tech niques has become a matter of routine for the analytically oriented organic chemist. Those who have graduated recently received extensive training in these techniques as part of the curriculum while their older colleagues learned to use these methods by necessity. One can, therefore, assume that chemists are well versed in the proper choice of the methods suitable for the solution of a particular problem and to translate the experimental data into structural information.

Book Calculation of NMR and EPR Parameters

Download or read book Calculation of NMR and EPR Parameters written by Martin Kaupp and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-03-06 with total page 621 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book to present the necessary quantum chemical methods for both resonance types in one handy volume, emphasizing the crucial interrelation between NMR and EPR parameters from a computational and theoretical point of view. Here, readers are given a broad overview of all the pertinent topics, such as basic theory, methodic considerations, benchmark results and applications for both spectroscopy methods in such fields as biochemistry, bioinorganic chemistry as well as with different substance classes, including fullerenes, zeolites and transition metal compounds. The chapters have been written by leading experts in a given area, but with a wider audience in mind. The result is the standard reference on the topic, serving as a guide to the best computational methods for any given problem, and is thus an indispensable tool for scientists using quantum chemical calculations of NMR and EPR parameters. A must-have for all chemists, physicists, biologists and materials scientists who wish to augment their research by quantum chemical calculations of magnetic resonance data, but who are not necessarily specialists in these methods or their applications. Furthermore, specialists in one of the subdomains of this wide field will be grateful to find here an overview of what lies beyond their own area of focus.

Book Carbon 13 NMR Spectroscopy

Download or read book Carbon 13 NMR Spectroscopy written by J Stothers and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 575 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Carbon-13 NMR Spectroscopy focuses on the potential of 13C techniques and the practical difficulties associated with the detection of 13C NMR absorption. This monograph includes a descriptive presentation of 13C shielding results that has been adopted with emphasis on the structural and stereochemical aspects. Organized into four parts encompassing 11 chapters, this book starts with an overview of the characteristics of the NMR signals derived from compounds containing 13C nuclei in natural abundance that are inherently much weaker than those exhibited by protons. This monograph then compares the primary characteristics of 13C NMR with the more familiar proton methods. Other chapters consider the 13C spectra of pyridine, pyridazine, pyrimidine, pyrazine, s-triazine, and s-tetrazine. The final chapter deals with the effects of solute–solvent interactions on the shieldings of other nuclei. This monograph is intended for organic chemists, graduate students, and researchers in various branches of chemistry with an interest in 13C NMR methods as another approach to chemical problems.

Book Macrocyclic Chemistry

Download or read book Macrocyclic Chemistry written by Dániel W. Fitzpatrick and published by Nova Science Publishers. This book was released on 2010 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A macrocycle is, as defined by IUPAC, "a cyclic macromolecule or a macromolecular cyclic portion of a molecule". In the chemical literature, organic chemists may consider any molecule containing a ring of seven or more atoms to be a macrocyle. Co-ordination chemists generally define a macrocycle more narrowly as a cyclic molecule with three or more potential donor atoms that can co-ordinate to a metal centre. This book brings together the latest research results from around the world.

Book Organic Structure Determination Using 2 D NMR Spectroscopy

Download or read book Organic Structure Determination Using 2 D NMR Spectroscopy written by Jeffrey H. Simpson and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2011-12-30 with total page 591 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The second edition of this book comes with a number of new figures, passages, and problems. Increasing the number of figures from 290 to 448 has necessarily added considerable length, weight, and, expense. It is my hope that the book has not lost any of its readability and accessibility. I firmly believe that most of the concepts needed to learn organic structure determination using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy do not require an extensive mathematical background. It is my hope that the manner in which the material contained in this book is presented both reflects and validates this belief"--
