Download or read book This Too Shall Last written by K.J. Ramsey and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2020-05-12 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is not a before-and-after story. Our culture treats suffering like a problem to fix, a blight to hide, or the sad start of a transformation story. We silently, secretly wither under the pressure of living as though suffering is a predicament we can avoid or annihilate by working hard enough or having enough faith. When your prayers for healing haven't been answered, the fog of depression isn't lifting, your marriage is ending in divorce, or grief won't go away, it's easy to feel you've failed God and, worse, he's failed you. If God loves us, why does he allow us to hurt? Over a decade ago chronic illness plunged therapist and writer K.J. Ramsey straight into this paradox. Before her illness, faith made sense. But when pain came and never left, K.J. had to find a way across the widening canyon that seemed to separate God's goodness from her excruciating circumstances. She wanted to conquer suffering. Instead, she encountered the God who chose it. She wanted to make pain past-tense. Instead, God invited her into a bigger story. This Too Shall Last offers an antidote to our cultural idolatry of effort and ease. Through personal story and insights from neuroscience and theology, Ramsey invites us to let our tears become lenses of the wonder that before God ever rescues us, he stands in solidarity with us. We are all mid-story in circumstances we did not choose, wondering when our hard things will end and where grace will come if they don’t. We don't need to make suffering a before-and-after story. Together we can encounter the grace that enters the middle of our stories, where living with suffering that lingers means receiving God's presence that lasts.

Book My Struggle My Pain My Victory

Download or read book My Struggle My Pain My Victory written by Malicia Campbell and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-10 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hi, I'm Evangelist Malicia M Campbell, I would like welcome you to walk with me. Though, I didn't choose this life for myself, I am certain that God knew all about it from the very beginning. I must say, my walk with God has not always been easy. I have had to endure many ups and downs, much pain, and have shed many tears. Yet, God stuck by me every step of the way. When God spoke to me concerning this book, I must say I wasn't very excited. I remember, talking to God and saying to him, "Sure God, I can write a Book". That was, until, he spoke back and said, "Not any book, but, a book about your life". Immediately, I thought, writing a book about my life would bring back a lot of memories, pain and even some shameful things that I wasn't so proud of. It was then God let me know, that this book was not about my needs, but, the need of his people. He said, "Others need to know that I am God, from someone who, truly, knows I am God". He said," This book shall bring divine healing, deliverance, freedom, and restoration to many lives, souls shall be saved from your testimony". Writing this book has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. Yet, it has been one of my most rewarding accomplishments. This, assignment, has brought me great healing from the inside out. As I wrote this book, there was purpose in mind, to help Heal, Empower, Push, Encourage and, help Deliver souls that have been in bondage to past hurt, betrayal, disappointments, and faced many adversaries. It is my prayer that, this divine, anointed, assignment will, destroy every yoke of the enemy pertaining to your life and, empower you to be able to serve God freely. Though, I have chosen not to name certain others in my writing, the events in this book are true events pertaining to my life. Though, it has taken longer than I expected to write and release this book due to my healing process in writing, I am certain that, it is in God's perfect timing. Many days, I had to get up from my computer and walk away in tears from memories, and emotions of reliving some of the events I pray that as you read this book, your past hurt be healed as, I was healed in writing it. I pray, your struggles produce power, and your pain produce purpose. I Prophesy Now, as you begin to open this book and read my Testimony, Chains of the past be Broken, Your Heart is mended, and Faith be Increased "It is So, In Jesus Name". Now walk with me as I share my story. As I share "My Struggles, My Pain, My Victory". And, in the words of one of my favorite poets, Langston Hughes, "Well, I'll tell you, "Life for me Ain't Been no Crystal Stair.

This is the story of a devastating struggle that ends in tragedy. A struggle that had already brought her family to their knees in prayer, but now brings them to lay on our faces in spiritual agony. Shannon deals with some deep questions in this book. What do you do when your hurt is so deep that you don't feel like praying? Where do you go when you can't see? We are often advised to praise our way through pain, but what do you do when you don't feel a praise? This book gives deep insight into how Shannon's family continues to deal with these and more questions about a life of faith and commitment to God in the face of adversity. Deep within these pages, you will hear the heart's cry of a merciful and loving God who desires to comfort His children through their deepest sorrows. This message is strongly conveyed through Shannon's testimony of spiritual perseverance even through the darkest night of her life. As you turn the pages of this tour de force, you will find yourself drawn into a world that mixes joy and pain in a new way. Shannon has proclaimed each writer to be her invited guest on a journey to a place of healing and perpetual joy. While on this journey, you will laugh and you will cry.
