Book Vinzenz Bronzin s Option Pricing Models

Download or read book Vinzenz Bronzin s Option Pricing Models written by Wolfgang Hafner and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-11-18 with total page 553 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1908, Vinzenz Bronzin, a professor of mathematics at the Accademia di Commercio e Nautica in Trieste, published a booklet in German entitled Theorie der Prämiengeschäfte (Theory of Premium Contracts) which is an old type of option contract. Almost like Bachelier’s now famous dissertation (1900), the work seems to have been forgotten shortly after it was published. However, almost every element of modern option pricing can be found in Bronzin’s book. He derives option prices for an illustrative set of distributions, including the Normal. - This volume includes a reprint of the original German text, a translation, as well as an appreciation of Bronzin's work from various perspectives (economics, history of finance, sociology, economic history) including some details about the professional life and circumstances of the author. The book brings Bronzin's early work to light again and adds an almost forgotten piece of research to the theory of option pricing.

Book Integrated Evaluation for the Management of Contemporary Cities

Download or read book Integrated Evaluation for the Management of Contemporary Cities written by Giulio Mondini and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-06-06 with total page 618 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights a selection of the best papers presented at the 2016 SIEV conference “The Laudato sì Encyclical Letter and Valuation. Cities between Conflict and Solidarity, Decay and Regeneration, Exclusion and Participation”, which was held in Rome, Italy, in April 2016, and brought together experts from a diverse range of fields – economics, appraisal, architecture, energy, urban planning, sociology, and the decision sciences – and government representatives. The book is divided into four parts: Human Ecology: Values and Paradigms; Integral Ecology and Natural Resource Management; Intergenerational Equity; and How to Enhance Dialogue and Transparency in Decision-making Processes. Cities are where 72% of all Europeans live, and this percentage is expected to rise to 80% by 2050. Given this trend towards urbanization, cities are continuously growing, which also entails a growing risk of social segregation, lack of security and mounting environmental problems. All too often, today’s cities have to cope with social and environmental crises, shifting the European urban agenda towards regeneration processes. Urban regeneration is more complex than merely renovating existing buildings, as it also involves social and environmental problems, inhabitants’ quality of life, protecting tangible and intangible cultural resources, innovation and business.

Book Economic and financial crisis from 2008 to

Download or read book Economic and financial crisis from 2008 to written by Clemente Maria Apollonj Ghetti and published by Gangemi Editore spa. This book was released on 2015-06-12T00:00:00+02:00 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first part of the study is dedicated to the US economy from the end of the Second World War to the present time; similarities and differences between the crisis of 1929 and the current one are examined. The second part is dedicated to Italy and Europe and, first of all, to the Euro. Advantages and disadvantages of the new currency are debated. As far as Italy is concerned, since the advent of the Euro, it has experienced a long period of stagnation. The new currency is for sure at least part of the problem. At the end of the study, three possible solutions to the crisis situation are examined in decreasing order of preference. The first is the reform of the Euro and of the European Central Bank which should have the same powers as every other central bank. The second would see Italy and, perhaps, other countries, leave the Euro. The last and the most disadvantageous would be to play along with Germany and adopt drastic economic measures to create trade surpluses at the expense of some countries. Clemente M. Apollonj Ghetti was born in Rome on the 27th June 1998. He attended Italian primary schools in Rome, from 2004 till 2013, while he became self-taught in economics. When he was just 15 years old, he wrote this book during the summer. In November 2013 he presented applications and was admitted to Downside School, one of England’s oldest and most distinguished schools. He started attending in the present academic year 2014-2015 the lower sixth form. At the Prize Day of May 2015, at the end of the school year, he has won the prize for Economics.

Book Law and Economics of the Coronavirus Crisis

Download or read book Law and Economics of the Coronavirus Crisis written by Klaus Mathis and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-04-27 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The coronavirus pandemic struck unexpectedly, posing unprecedented challenges around the world. At the same time, this crisis also offers a unique opportunity for reflection, research, and insight regarding this and similar global and domestic crises. There is much to be learned from analysing the effects of the crisis. It provides a chance for a fresh scholarly examination of important aspects of legal regulation, policymaking, and more. This volume pursues these questions from a broad range of Law and Economics perspectives and is divided into two parts. The first part examines the immediate impact of and responses to the coronavirus crisis, while the second explores the future possibilities that scholarly analysis of this crisis can offer. As to the immediate impact and responses, questions of compliance with regulations and safety measures, nudging and decision-making with regard to the coronavirus crisis are examined from the perspective of behavioural economics. In addition, the short- and long-term effects of various emergency policy responses on contract law are studied. Current issues and challenges like the regulation of internet platforms, excessive pricing, the right to adequate food, risk and loss allocation, as well as remote learning and examinations, which have been impacted, brought about, complicated or aggravated by the coronavirus crisis, are analysed in depth. Lastly, future possibilities in the areas of data access rights, economic instability and the balance between political-economic interests and social interests, patenting, food labels and open data are illustrated.

Book Law Labour and the Humanities

Download or read book Law Labour and the Humanities written by Tiziano Toracca and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-10-28 with total page 447 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ontology of work and the economics of value underpin the legal institution, with the existence of modern law predicated upon the subject as labourer. In contemporary Europe, labour is more than a mere economic relationship. Indeed, labour occupies a central position in human existence: since the industrial revolution, it has been the principal criterion of reciprocal recognition and of universal mobilization. This multi-disciplinary volume analyses labour and its depictions in their interaction with the latest legal, socio-economic, political and artistic tendencies. Addressing such issues as deregulation, flexibility, de-industrialization, the pervasive enlargement of markets, digitization and virtual relationships, social polarisation and migratory fluxes, this volume engages with the existential role played by labour in our lives at the conjunction of law and the humanities. This book will be of interest to law students, legal philosophers, theoretical philosophers, political philosophers, social and political theorists, labour studies scholars, and literature and film scholars.

Book General Theory Of Employment Interest And Money

Download or read book General Theory Of Employment Interest And Money written by John Maynard Keynes and published by Atlantic Publishers & Dist. This book was released on 2016-04 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John Maynard Keynes is the great British economist of the twentieth century whose hugely influential work The General Theory of Employment, Interest and * is undoubtedly the century's most important book on economics--strongly influencing economic theory and practice, particularly with regard to the role of government in stimulating and regulating a nation's economic life. Keynes's work has undergone significant revaluation in recent years, and "Keynesian" views which have been widely defended for so long are now perceived as at odds with Keynes's own thinking. Recent scholarship and research has demonstrated considerable rivalry and controversy concerning the proper interpretation of Keynes's works, such that recourse to the original text is all the more important. Although considered by a few critics that the sentence structures of the book are quite incomprehensible and almost unbearable to read, the book is an essential reading for all those who desire a basic education in economics. The key to understanding Keynes is the notion that at particular times in the business cycle, an economy can become over-productive (or under-consumptive) and thus, a vicious spiral is begun that results in massive layoffs and cuts in production as businesses attempt to equilibrate aggregate supply and demand. Thus, full employment is only one of many or multiple macro equilibria. If an economy reaches an underemployment equilibrium, something is necessary to boost or stimulate demand to produce full employment. This something could be business investment but because of the logic and individualist nature of investment decisions, it is unlikely to rapidly restore full employment. Keynes logically seizes upon the public budget and government expenditures as the quickest way to restore full employment. Borrowing the * to finance the deficit from private households and businesses is a quick, direct way to restore full employment while at the same time, redirecting or siphoning

Book From Economists to Economists

Download or read book From Economists to Economists written by Pier Francesco Asso and published by Edizioni Polistampa. This book was released on 2001 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains 12 essays which examine the international diffusion of Italian economic thought in 8 countries, namely England, France, Germany and Austria, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United States. Using different approaches, the contributors to this book discuss the international reputation of Italian economists between 1750 and 1950. This reconstruction of the flow of ideas from economists to economists provides original insights on the intellectual network (including institutions, learned societies, specialised journals and political authorities)in wich Italian economic thought was transmitted and circulated. It also serves to measure and explain the specific degree of influence which Italian economists managed to exert within different international contexts and among different groups of scholars. Galiani, Verri, Beccaria, Pantaleoni, Pareto, the Italian school of public finance and the Italian Economists in the interwar years are some of the authors whose reputation, knowledge and influence has been thoroughly investigated in these essays.
