En la democracia deliberativa, que da voz a la sociedad civil, esta actúa como polo de contrapoder: exige transparencia a los representantes de la opinión pública y que los centros de poder rindan cuentas. Para ello, concretamos prácticas y estrategias de generar y procesar información. Las encuadramos en los modelos clásicos que confieren poder a las elites o al «Pueblo» y apostamos por regularlo institucionalmente.Hablamos del poder que consiste en imponer una narrativa pública, con unas agendas y unos marcos determinados. Así que estos contenidos no conciernen solo a futuros graduados en Comunicación. También constituyen materia de estudio en (pos)grados de Sociología, Ciencias Políticas, Antropología, Trabajo-Educación Social o Magisterio. Igual que la comunicación, estas páginas atraviesan distintas disciplinas y desbordan las fronteras académicas. Ojalá vuel-van a saltar los muros de los campus y se hagan merecedoras de los elogios que equipararon versiones previas de este libro a un «manual de instrucciones» para generar el relato que la opinión pública asume como propio. Esta es la máxima expresión de poder comunicativo. Y, en democracia, determina quién (no) nos representa y gestiona –o destroza– el bien común.

Arqueología, cuerpo(s) y mirada(s), plantea que las imágenes son vínculos entre distintas épocas y culturas, son síntomas e indicios que dejan huellas en el imaginario cultural. Son la elegíaca memoria como musa que deambula por los tiempos pero fuera de los tiempos (genealogía) o, en otros términos, las imágenes son Mnemosyne, es decir, la musa de todas las musas. Una arqueología de la imagen, implica considerar a la imagen desde la intermedialidad (entre-medios), los cuerpos y las miradas. Concebirla desde una crítica de la cultura en una contemporaneidad atravesada por la crisis. La pregunta ¿qué son las imágenes? que se formula desde la debilidad de cierta inocencia de la escritura, adquiere toda su dimensión desde el momento en que se confunde imagen con visualidad o imagen con medios audiovisuales, dejando por el camino todos los restos de imágenes que no son visuales. Aún más, ese debate se torna más complejo, cuando en su trasfondo está la «memoria» del holocausto (o de los holocaustos); las imágenes de la crisis política, económica y social o los miles de refugiados, en la paradigmática imagen de un niño muerto en la playa, deambulando por geografías europeas. La imagen es, en efecto, «nómada», viaja por territorios y culturas. The III International Seminar on Research on Mediatization and Social Processes had a program developed on two levels: Debate Tables, with invited researchers (five discussion tables, with the participation of researchers from France (3), Argentina (2), Germany (1), and Brazil (5). The schedule of the III Seminar and its structure can be seen at https://www.midiaticom.org/seminario-midiatizacao/grade-de-programacao-2019/. In total, there were 15 hours of debates at the five Discussion Tables. Methodologically, the Seminar takes place in the articulation of Debate Tables with international guests and Working Groups with the presence of researchers, doctors, doctoral students, masters, and masters' degree students. We point out that, even in the scope of training processes, master's and doctoral students, masters and doctors, post-doctors and post-doctoral graduates, and members of the organizing Research Group take part as reviewers, in a blind evaluation process, of the expanded abstracts submitted by graduates with a lower title - under the coordination of the research professors from the Mediatization and Social Processes Group. They evaluated (in a group of more than three dozen reviewers) each of the works submitted by colleagues with a lower instructional level, with classificatory notes, which resulted in the approved works. They were then grouped by the Organizing Committee, successively, until they reached the event's working groups.
