Book excerpt: Two Iraqi brothers, Adam and Dove, commence a plan of psychological terror against the world to avenge the slaughter of their mother and of Adam's wife and children. Although Adam believes his brother has the same agenda, he is unaware that the death of his family was actually due to his brother's involvement in a terrorist organization. Seven years of planning, their scheme commences with grand biblical flare at a local New York bar. Adam acts as a messenger from God delivering a dire warning: "The world has seven days to repent its sins and have faith in God, or the world will end!" Adam uses incredible magic to convince the crowd it is truly a divine message, then bestows the 177 patrons of the bar with the task of spreading the message as quickly as possible to stop the end. Their plan is timed to commence with reported major seismic activity, some fabricated by Adam's programming skills, and some forecasted by his seismic knowledge. Adam and Dove have financial backing from a major terror organization as well as from a rare, secret biblical artifact. The funds buy off key political and military figures, all in the hope of sparking a world war through escalating global tensions. Two FBI agents, one a rookie named Lobato and his senior partner Arena, are religious terror experts and quickly calculate Adam and Dove are terrorists. However the uncanny similarities between biblical prophecy and what was happening globally, makes them question reality. The separate lives and actions of three bar patrons are followed as they experience self-awareness and personal transformations. As chaos rolls around the globe, and religious wars heat up, lives are lost and cities burn. A reporter, and single mother, Sam, saves Adam from a brutal mob attack. The two grow close as he opens up and confesses to her. Having a change of heart and experiencing love for the first time since loosing his family, he asks Dove to stop the plan. Dove is furious and sees this as betrayal for the family they mourn. They become adversaries and Dove publically paints Adam as the terrorist while he builds a charismatic persona of a reformed terrorist turned peace advocate. What Adam does not know is that the American missile that he thinks hit their house in error, killing his family, was actually targeting Dove, who was a leader in the terrorist underworld. In an effort to stop the madness, Sam creates a global peace plan that will unite the world for five minutes of universal awareness and consciousness. The movement has more momentum and mass than expected. Dove is identified by SIGNIT (An N.S.A. supercomputer) as a major threat to US security and a hit is ordered to eliminate him. The hit, along with the peace movement is hoped to be enough to stop the world from entering a global conflict and end the grand scheme of terror.

Book At the Center of the Storm LP

Download or read book At the Center of the Storm LP written by George Tenet and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2007-05-22 with total page 866 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the whirlwind of accusations and recriminations that emerged in the wake of 9/11 and the Iraq war, one man's vital testimony has been conspicuously absent. Candid and gripping, At the Center of the Storm recounts George Tenet's time at the Central Intelligence Agency, a revealing look at the inner workings of the most important intelligence organization in the world during the most challenging times in recent history. With unparalleled access to both the highest echelons of government and raw intelligence from the field, Tenet illuminates the CIA's painstaking attempts to prepare the country against new and deadly threats, disentangles the interlocking events that led to 9/11, and offers explosive new information on the deliberations and strategies that culminated in the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Beginning with his appointment as Director of Central Intelligence in 1997, Tenet unfolds the momentous events that led to 9/11 as he saw and experienced them: his declaration of war on al-Qa'ida; the CIA's covert operations inside Afghanistan; the worldwide operational plan to fight terrorists; his warnings of imminent attacks against American interests to White House officials in the summer of 2001; and the plan for a coordinated and devastating counterattack against al-Qa'ida laid down just six days after the attacks. Tenet's compelling narrative then turns to the war in Iraq as he provides dramatic insight and background on the run-up to the invasion, including a firsthand account of the fallout from the inclusion of "sixteen words" in the president's 2003 State of the Union address, which claimed that Saddam Hussein had sought to purchase uranium from Africa; the true context of Tenet's own now-famous "slam dunk" comment regarding Saddam's WMD program; and the CIA's critical role in an administration predisposed to take the country to war. In doing so, he sets the record straight about CIA operations and shows readers that the truth is more complex than suggested in other versions of recent history offered thus far. Through it all, Tenet paints an unflinching self-portrait of a man caught between the warring forces of the administration's decision-making process, the reams of frightening intelligence pouring in from around the world, and his own conscience. In At the Center of the Storm, George Tenet draws on his unmatched experience within the opaque mirrors of intelligence and provides crucial information previously undisclosed to offer a moving, revelatory profile of both a man and a nation in times of crisis.

Book excerpt: An in-depth look at Christopher Nolan, considered to be the most profound, commercially successful director at work today, written with his full cooperation. A rare, revelatory portrait, "as close as you're ever going to get to the Escher drawing that is Christopher Nolan's remarkable brain" (Sam Mendes). In chapters structured by themes and motifs ("Time"; "Chaos"; "Dreams"), Shone offers an unprecedented intimate view of the director. Shone explores Nolan's thoughts on his influences, his vision, his enigmatic childhood past--and his movies, from plots and emotion to identity and perception, including his latest blockbuster, the action-thriller/spy-fi Tenet ("Big, brashly beautiful, grandiosely enjoyable"--Variety). Filled with the director's never-before-seen photographs, storyboards, and scene sketches, here is Nolan on the evolution of his pictures, and the writers, artists, directors, and thinkers who have inspired and informed his films. "Fabulous: intelligent, illuminating, rigorous, and highly readable. The very model of what a filmmaking study should be. Essential reading for anyone who cares about Nolan or about film for that matter."--Neal Gabler, author of An Empire of Their Own: How the Jews Invented Hollywood and Walt Disney, The Biography

Book The Secrets of Tenet and the Sator Square

Download or read book The Secrets of Tenet and the Sator Square written by François-Marie Périer and published by BoD - Books on Demand. This book was released on 2023-12-14 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Early Christians to Christopher Nolan. What if the famous Magic Square Sator, engraved two millenia ago on the walls of Pompeii shortly before the eruption of Vesuvius, attributed to the Early Christians, and the inspiration for Christopher Nolan's film Tenet, released in 2020, had been announcing the troubled and decisive times we are living? Sator, Arepo, Tenet, Opera, Rotas: a 25 letters mandala of which numerous versions dot ancient, medieval or modern Europe, and a two thousand years old mystery. Like a living heart where ancient traditions and religions converge with contemporary discoveries in physics, such as the reversibility of Time and the question of Artificial Intelligence, the Magic Square takes us through the arcane of the Tarot, Gnosis, Hebrew Wisdom and their links to Egypt, Christian Mysticism and the Renaissance. It also allows us to decipher for the first time the work of Christopher Nolan, also director of The Prestige, Batman, Interstellar, Inception and Oppenheimer. In the center of the Sator Square, a cross is formed by Tenet, the name of the director of the CIA at the time of September 11, 2001. Space and Time, Eternity, the destiny of Human kind, its quest for freedom are simultaneously hidden and revealed in the Sator Square, as well as C.G.Jung's necessary reconciliation of the opposites at the crossing point between the Pisces era and the Aquarian era we are encountering. "We live in a twilight World" is the device of Tenet. But the Sator Square also announced us the dawn of a new one.

What doesn’t fit in with his plans is some short, unimpressive waif claiming to be his soul companion, the platonic other half of his spirit. But when the king demands that he hand Evyn over, Thorrn is confronted with a choice: protect Evyn and keep her secret from the magical community who would drain her for the power resonating inside her, or turn her over to save his career, family name, and reputation. When a powerful mage moves against the kingdom, Thorrn and Evyn will have to summon all their courage and find allies from unexpected corners – including different worlds and times. For alongside the realms of Oberrot and Earth are the multiverses, and one of them should surely be able to help… A swordsman, an apothecarist, a shy librarian (“I’m beginning to think being underestimated is kind of my superpower”), and a powerful mage. Only they can save the kingdom. A page-turning new adventure awaits, from a fresh voice in fantasy. Contains twinned souls with a twist, enemies to inseparable friends, coming of age, learning to accept yourself and others, some epic swordfights, and a smattering of romance. “The plot is gripping, but it's a solid combination between a solid plot and a downright fabulous character development, as well as an absolutely beautiful narrative, that turns this debut into an addictive, practically unputdownable read.” - The Magic Book Corner “An action-packed adventure...The storyline is ambitious in its scope and really is one for fans of fantasy and science fiction, with multiple tropes all utilised to great effect as Thorrn and Evyn’s path unfolds.” - LoveBooks.co.uk “I found myself laughing and, at times, having tears in my eyes.” - Reedsy Discovery Reviewer “James has created a unique, new twist on soulmates that was refreshing and genius! James’ world building is exceptional as it sucks you right in and is executed perfectly.” - J.A. Culican, USA Today Bestselling Author

In western Pennsylvania, 1997, she is assigned to solve the murder of a Navy SEAL's family—and to locate his vanished teenage daughter. Though she can't share the information with conventional law enforcement, Moss discovers that the missing SEAL was an astronaut aboard the spaceship U.S.S. Libra—a ship assumed lost to the currents of Deep Time. Moss knows first-hand the mental trauma of time-travel and believes the SEAL's experience with the future has triggered this violence. Determined to find the missing girl and driven by a troubling connection from her own past, Moss travels ahead in time to explore possible versions of the future, seeking evidence to crack the present-day case. To her horror, the future reveals that it's not only the fate of a family that hinges on her work, for what she witnesses rising over time's horizon and hurtling toward the present is the Terminus: the terrifying and cataclysmic end of humanity itself. Luminous and unsettling, The Gone World bristles with world-shattering ideas yet remains at its heart an intensely human story.
