He hates his fins and wants nothing to do with his heritage. Lucas is an ambitious merman who has lived his whole life in Atlantis. He has spent his adulthood hiding his sexuality because homosexual relationships are forbidden in the underwater city. Now he has been sent on a mission by King Nereus to locate his oldest son and bring him back to Atlantis to take his place as the heir to the throne. Although his mission seems impossible, Lucas finds help from the Atlantean Goddess of Love, little knowing that she has her own reasons for bringing Lucas and Justin together. Justin is no stranger to immortals, having been raised by two of them, but he has no idea of the consequences of angering the Goddess of Love. When he insults her, she curses him to find love only to lose it forever shortly after. As the love &‘em and leave &‘em type, Justin isn't overly concerned, at least until Lucas enters his life and he sees how the curse will end. Together they could have the greatest love of their lives, but only if they can appease the furious goddess before their time runs out.

Book Sermonettes from the Seashore

Download or read book Sermonettes from the Seashore written by Barry Blackstone and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-05-23 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coming from this preacher’s love of the seashore is a series of sermonettes he heard while walking along some of the world’s sandy beaches. Stroll with this man as he shares his insights from days spent on seashores in the counties of Israel, India, Canada, and Australia, as well as the states of Alaska, California, Florida, New Jersey, and Maine. Listen with him as he hears surf and sea sermons, tide and tern tenets, beach and breeze benedictions, and sand and storm sermonettes. Look with him into the face of a coastal nor’easter; watch with him as sea creatures and shoreline birds play together along the sea edge; behold brilliant sunrises and amazing sunsets over distant shores with family and friends; and observe the rising and falling of the great tides, all events along a seashore that inspired these spiritual messages from the Almighty. So take off your shoes; let the sand fill the cracks between your toes; lift your eyes toward the sea; open your ears to the sound of the surf; and “be still, and know that I am God” (Ps 46:10). What does God want to say?

Book Ecology and Environment in European Drama

Download or read book Ecology and Environment in European Drama written by Downing Cless and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2010-05-11 with total page 526 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Looking at European drama through an ecological lens, this book chronicles nature and the environment as primary topics in major plays from ancient to recent times. Cless focuses on the few, yet well-known plays in which nature is at stake in the action or the environment is a dramatic force. Though theater predominantly explores human and cultural themes, these plays fully display the power of the other-than-human world and its endangerment during the history of Europe. While offering a broad overview, the book features extensive case studies of several playwrights, plays, and eco-theater productions: Aristophanes’ The Birds, Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Tempest, and Giraudoux’s The Madwoman of Chaillot. In each case, Cless connects nature in the play to nature in the life of the playwright based on biographical research into the understanding of natural philosophy and awareness of the immediate environment that influenced the specific play. The book is one of the first of its kind in a growing field of ecocriticism and emerging eco-studies of theater.
