Book Establishing a Methodology to Evaluate Teen Driver training Programs

Download or read book Establishing a Methodology to Evaluate Teen Driver training Programs written by Tammy E. Trimble and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The goal of this research project was to develop a methodology to assist the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) in the evaluation of effectiveness of teen driver education programs over the short and long terms. The research effort was divided into two phases. Phase I focused on the development of an evaluative methodology that was based upon a review of the relevant literature and Wisconsin-specific policies and available data sources. This review culminated in a program assessment tool focused on four contributing areas of teen driver training and education: 1) Guardian Involvement; 2) Driver Education and Training Curricula Requirements; 3) GDL Coordination; and 4) Instructor Qualifications. The proposed methodology was presented to the Project Oversight Committee and was validated through two rounds of pilot testing using materials provided by programs and schools under the oversight of both WisDOT and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The resulting methodology informed the Phase II implementation plan recommendations. Work products included within this report are an annotated bibliography; a knowledge base documenting best practices and Wisconsin-specific data sources; a methodology that may be used to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of driver-training programs as they relate to the demonstrated safety and behavior of teen drivers in Wisconsin; and a three-phase implementation plan."--Technical report documentation page.

Book Driving Institute of America presents The Teen Driver s Bible

This book was released on 2019-10-22 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: IF YOU DRIVE A VEHICLE, YOU NEED THIS BOOK! Here's the deal. We have a huge problem and it must be corrected immediately! From 2000 to 2018, we have had 768,828 people killed in United States in auto accidents (from National Safety Council's Accident Facts)! The past three years (2016""2018), we have had over 40,000 fatalities each year! These are the most in the past nine years, which tells me our training system is not working! This is UNACCEPTABLE! If you drive a vehicle, you need to go through this training! It will be one of the most important books you will ever read! How many of these people would have said they were good drivers? Yes, almost all of them! Fact: 25 percent of all fatal auto accidents are DUI accidents. The other 75 percent of the fatal accidents I classify as sober-related accidents! A problem this book will address in simple detail. Fact: The only way you would attend a driver safety course is by receiving a citation; you attend the class and say, "This was a great refresher. I'm glad I took it." This is not a refresher but a survival course! The solution to preventing these staggering statistics is retraining the 210 million drivers on the road with a fundamental, focus-concept training with accident situations. This training is intended to make you a proactive driver versus a reactive driver! Being reactive, most of the time, is too late! I have done much research and developed simple analogies, concepts, and accident-possibility situations that will change your mindset and driving behavior every time you get behind the wheel. Driving Institute of America (DIA) wants to make you a DIA-Certified Teen Driver versus just a teen driver! There is a huge difference! Your life is worth a whole lot more than the cost of this book! You will understand that every time you get behind the wheel, YOU ARE ENTERING THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE IN THE WORLD""THE PUBLIC HIGHWAYS! Never forget this! 100 PERCENT FOCUS AND SAFE DRIVING! "You saved my life three different ways!" ""Dee D., Austin, TX "I've been a driver for over thirty years and this training taught me some life-saving skills!" ""Matt T., Leander, TX "I definitely think everyone who drives a vehicle absolutely needs this training!" ""Tom J., Cedar Park, TX "It definitely made our teen more responsible by completing all the certifications. It was an eye opener!" ""Shorouk N., Austin, TX "Thank you, this information has helped me so much and it made me more attentive to my own driving habits." ""Deni H., Austin, TX "Yes, I believe everyone who completes this training will be a much more knowledgeable and safer driver." ""Karen E., Spokane, WA

Finally, make sure that you and your passengers are properly buckled up - it's the law! Today's vehicles are loaded with technology that was unheard of even a decade ago. Systems that warn when you are drifting from your lane, assist you in parallel parking, automatically brake in emergency situations and provide 360 degrees of vision around the vehicle via a camera are becoming standard, even on moderately priced vehicles. As remarkable as these leaps in automotive technology are, the truth is that the most important safety feature in any vehicle remains you as the driver. Therefore, it is to your benefit to continue improving and expanding your knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices. Driving is a privilege. Once you have been issued a driver's license, you have the responsibility to continually demonstrate the skill and knowledge to drive safely. Whether you have been behind the wheel for decades or are just starting to venture out, driving is a discipline that requires judgment, knowledge, physical and mental self-awareness, and practice. "What Every Driver Must Know" is an excellent resource for assisting you on this lifelong journey.
