Book Technical Evaluation Report on the Flight Mechanics Panel Symposium on Rotorcraft Design for Operations

Download or read book Technical Evaluation Report on the Flight Mechanics Panel Symposium on Rotorcraft Design for Operations written by F. Reina and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The expanding roles of the helicopter and the intensified threat perceived by its potential users have led to proposals for future rotorcraft with characteristics significantly different to existing types. The resulting rapid evolution of rotorcraft configurations, in response to user demands, now requires a translation into design criteria to permit aerospace R & D community to provide appropriate and cost effective responses to these demands. The objective of this symposium was to explore the impact of operational needs on the evolution of rotorcraft design. The result will be to provide a review of the present status of rotorcraft design and to identify priorities and neglected topics. Three specific issues were central: 1) The translation of operational mission requirements into design criteria; 2) The evaluation of techniques to incorporate user defined needs into the design and methods of test and verification; and 3) The identification of design areas where unusual or new user needs are demanding special or radical features. Keywords: Rotary wing aircraft. (kr).

Book Technical Evaluation Report on the Flight Mechanics Panel Symposium on Aircraft Ship Operations Le Couple Aeronef Navire Dans Les Operations

Download or read book Technical Evaluation Report on the Flight Mechanics Panel Symposium on Aircraft Ship Operations Le Couple Aeronef Navire Dans Les Operations written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Worldwide interest in the use of shipborne aircraft as a major weapons system is very broad. Many NATO countries operate fixed wing aircraft from ships. Additionally, the use of ships as helicopter platforms is extensive in the NATO community and brings another import dimension to the aircraft/ship interface issue. Thus, it seemed that both fixed and rotary wing aviation deserved equal billing in the Aircraft/Ship Interface Symposium which is the subject of this Technical Evaluation Report. This Symposium was held in Seville, Spain, from 20th to 23rd May 1991 and was the first Symposium sponsored by the AGARD Flight Mechanics Panel devoted to this topic. The Symposium contained twenty-five presentations grouped under the following topics: Keynote Addresses; Ship Environment; Guidance, Controls, and Displays; Flight Test and Simulation Techniques; Launch, Recovery, and Handling Systems Development; and Operational Views and Future Developments. The full texts of the papers presented at this Symposium are published in AGARD-CP-509. Aircraft carriers, Shipboard landing, Carrier based aircraft, Flight tests, Helicopters, Computerized simulation, Antisubmarine warfare, Vertical takeoff aircraft, Ship motion, Search and rescue, Guidance and control, Amphibious operations.
