Download or read book Teachers Perception of the Role of School Administrators in Motivating the Aided High School Teachers written by Jafar Paramboor and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Teacher motivation is one of the major issues in education by and large, and in educational leadership and practices specifically. A variety of factors are being considered as motives for the teachers, with which the administrators are supposed to recognize and acknowledge their role as teacher motivators. This study investigated the perceptions of the aided high school teachers of Malppuram Educational District, India, on the role of their school administrators in motivating them. The questionnaires pertaining to different motivational dimensions including job satisfaction, career progression, welfare and instruction-related matters were distributed to the teachers of ten aided high schools in the district, which were selected purposively. The statistical techniques which included descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The demographic information, the motivation level, differences among gender and other selected demographic variables in terms of job satisfaction level, the relationship between the job satisfaction level and motivational aspects, and the predictive ability of the variables on job satisfaction were found and analyzed respectively. From 206 questionnaires which were given back to the researcher, it was found that the level of motivation received by the teachers was low and their job satisfaction was moderate. Only two age groups, Group 1 and Group 6, differed in their job satisfaction level while there were no significant statistical differences among any other selected variables namely, gender and academic qualifications. The result showed that there was a significant relationship between the job satisfaction of the teachers and their perceived level of motivation received from the authority. Among the aforementioned three aspects of motivation, the instructional field was the largest contributor to teachers' job satisfaction followed by the welfare and career progression aspects. The findings suggest that the District level school administrators, as well as the state Ministry of Education should make improvement in realizing their role as teacher motivators at least in the three dimensions on which this study focused on.

Book excerpt: The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between high school teachers' perceptions of student motivation and the teachers' perceptions of their own professional development and preparation, efficacy in motivating students, and their actions to motivate students within their classrooms. Constructs of the research pertaining to the study included student motivation, teacher efficacy, and teacher professional development and preparation. In this study, the researcher administered the Teacher Perception of Motivation Scale (TPMS), developed by the researcher, to 200 high school teachers in a Midwestern state. The TPMS investigate four specific subscales of teacher's perceptions of student motivation, these subscales included: teacher perception of a student's role and other influences in student motivation, teacher perceptions of their own actions in their classrooms that motivate students, teacher perceptions of their professional development and preparation toward motivating students, and teacher perceptions of their own efficacy in motivating students. In addition, additional questions were investigated that measured high school teacher's perception of the magnitude of the challenge of student motivation in their classrooms and their desire and need for additional professional development relating to student motivation. A quantitative research design was used. The findings of the study suggest that there is a correlation between teacher's perceptions of student motivation and their perceptions of their actions within their classrooms and their professional development and preparation. In addition, the findings uncover a high level of concern among high school teachers who identify student motivation as a serious challenge that they face in their classes daily. This study also indicated that high school teachers have a strong desire for additional professional development that will help them deal with the challenge of student motivation. This book was released on 2020-04-15 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the book the author, Dr. Pooja Singh, argues that Emotional Intelligence of people was more important than their IQ, in order for them to have productive lives. People who were well adjusted emotionally were more likely to have better leadership skills, mental health and job performance. According to Singh, superior EI (Emotional Intelligence) was twice as necessary as skills and IQ required for completing a job. The skill could be taught in schools to enable the students to turn into stable employees and leaders in the future. The author also listed the methods in which, EI could be integrated into the school curriculum. Far more than we are consciously aware, our daily encounters with parents, spouses, bosses, and even strangers, shape our brains and affect cells throughout our bodies, down to the level of our genes - for good or ill. In Social Intelligence, Dr. Pooja Singh explores an emerging new science with startling implications for our interpersonal world. Its most fundamental discovery: we are designed for sociability, constantly engaged in a 'neural ballet' that connects us brain-to-brain with those around us. This book is explaining many important things of school life like social intelligence, Emotional intelligence, Social climate and emotional climate. There is growing appreciation that school climate - the quality and character of school life' - fosters children's development, learning and achievement. School climate is based on the patterns of people's experiences of school life; it reflects the norms, goals, values, interpersonal relationships, teaching, learning and leadership practices, and organizational structures that comprise school life. The increased attention to school climate reflects both the concern for improving schools and the need for preparing students to address the myriad of challenges they will face in the 21st century. Download or read book Perceptions of High School Teachers on the Influence of Instrinsic and Extrinsic Motivators Teacher Evaluation and Principal Leadership Style on Job Satisfaction written by Jason J. Cordova and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study examined the perceptions of high school teachers on the influence intrinsic and extrinsic motivators, teacher evaluation system, and leadership style have on job satisfaction. Thirty-one high school teachers from four districts throughout the southeastern portion of Pennsylvania participated in this study. Data were collected through the use of an online survey, utilizing selected questions from the 1967 Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire, as well as through face-to-face and telephone interviews with six teacher participants. The results suggested that the participating teachers found significant intrinsic satisfaction in serving others, while extrinsically salary ranked low. Furthermore, teachers appeared divided over the impact the teacher evaluations system's effectiveness and its components had on their job satisfaction. In addition, teachers reported the majority of their supervisors utilized transformational leadership, increasing job satisfaction. The results of the study indicated that teachers had higher satisfaction levels towards intrinsic motivators; indifference on the effectiveness and components of the teacher evaluation system; and favored their immediate supervisor but not central office leadership. Since this study was focused on only four school districts in southeastern Pennsylvania, the perceptions of the participants of this study may not be generalized to all teachers. However, the reported perceptions of the teachers in this study were corroborated by other research and may prove beneficial to current and future professionals in the field.
