Book Teachers Attitudes Toward Children of Drug related Births

Download or read book Teachers Attitudes Toward Children of Drug related Births written by Lady June Hubbard and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 1998 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores common perceptions of and misconceptions about the increasing number of drug-exposed children entering our educational system, showing how poverty and images projected by the media have an adverse affect on the lives of these children. The study investigates teachers' attitudes toward children who are born exposed to crack or cocaine, focusing on teachers' expectations of these students' social and neurobehavioral responses. This book considers a number of practical implications for those involved with drug-exposed children or interested in their cognitive and social development. The atypicalities in development and behavior which these children exhibit raise important concerns for their parenting, education, and socialization.

Book Parent and Teacher Attitudes Toward Bullying In School

Download or read book Parent and Teacher Attitudes Toward Bullying In School written by Lidwina Wijtenburg and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2015-08-13 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bullying is a problem in elementary schools and has been shown to negatively affect a student's academic performance, friendships, and attitudes towards bullying. Bullying often occurs on the playground when teachers do not observe the bullying behavior first hand. Likewise, parents depend on their child's report about bullying in school. In one study, only one-third of parents contact their child's teacher when bullying occurred in school, while in another study teachers failed to communicate effectively with parents when bullying occurred in school. The objective of the study was to facilitate in a collaborative relationship between parents and teachers when bullying in school occurs. Previous research has indicated that parents' and teachers' attitudes toward bullying and victimization can influence elementary children's views of bullying, yet little research has compared parents' and teachers' attitudes toward these bullying behaviors of children in elementary school.
