Lorca himself was assassinated in 1936 for being who he was--an artist and a rabble-rouser. He refused to conform. Let's refuse with him. Download or read book Poetic Petals written by Alinka Zyrmont and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2006-11-01 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: POETIC PETALS is an anthology of poems Alinka Zyrmont has written throughout the years. Not having much time to dedicate to her hobby of gardening once she started writing romance novels, she came up with the idea of incorporating lovely photos of flowers to accompany each of her poems. The result was this lovely coffee table gift book, dedicated "to lovers everywhere." Many of the poems are of a romantic feeling, while others are more philosophical, and some are even in Spanish. Truly a nice gift for a wedding or birthday present. Certainly a sweet way to say to anyone: I love you!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if the future is predetermined and nothing you do can change it? All he wanted was to go back to the future, but that also meant living in a world without her. Leonardo My world turned upside down when I broke a bottle containing a wish. I’m an easy-going person, and I hate anything brainy, but the damn bottle made me travel back in time, back to 1956 when Abuela was only nineteen. Younger than me! I might need to use my brain to figure out how to get back to 2020, preferably before I alter my grandparents' history. Befriending them isn’t part of the plan, and falling for Celestina, my abuela's future best friend, is definitely not supposed to happen. Celestina All Celestina wanted was her mother's love, but because she’s a product of rape, she learned to accept that her dream would never come true. However, when Leonardo materialized out of her bottle in front of her, she thought that if magic was possible, her wishes may not be out of reach. In Another Time is a time travel romance set in Beniardà, a small sun-drenched village in Francoist Spain, where time seemed to be standing still. If you're a fan of old crushes realized, age gap trope, and romance that transcends time, then this book is for you. Click the PRE-ORDER button now to join Leonardo and Celestina on a journey across the decades for love.

Download or read book Collective Situations written by Bill Kelley Jr. and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2017-10-19 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Collective Situations scholars, artists, and art collectives present a range of socially engaged art practices that emerged in Latin America during the Pink Tide period, between 1995 and 2010. This volume's essays, interviews, and artist's statements—many of which are appearing in English for the first time—demonstrate the complex relationship between moments of political transformation and artistic production. Whether addressing human rights in Colombia, the politics of urban spaces in Brazil, the violent legacy of military dictatorships in the region, or art’s intersection with public policy, health, and the environment, the contributors outline the region’s long-standing tradition of challenging ideas about art and the social sphere through experimentation. Introducing English-language readers to some of the most dynamic and innovative contemporary art in Latin America, Collective Situations documents new possibilities for artistic practice, collaboration, and creativity in ways that have the capacity to foster vibrant forms of democratic citizenship. Download or read book Gender and Well Being in Europe written by Lina Gálvez and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-22 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first of four books based on a series of symposia funded by COST, which is an intergovernmental framework for the promotion of European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research. It draws on both historical and contemporary European case-studies to offer a sophisticated account of the relationship between gender and well-being. The authors focus on key discussions of the changing conceptions of well-being from early twentieth century calculations of the relationship between income and the cost-of-living, to more recent critiques from feminist writers. Their fascinating answers allow them to significantly challenge the issue with the idea that well-being is not only associated with income or opulence but also relates to more abstract concepts including capabilities, freedom, and agency of different women and men and will be of considerable interest to economic and social historians, sociologists of health, gender, sexuality and economists.
