Download or read book Christian Mystic Tarot written by D. W. Prudence and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-10-05 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Christian Mystic Tarot explores a central concept in life by examining humanity's dance with death and quest for eternal life. WARNING: THIS IS ONLY A GUIDEBOOK AND DOES NOT INCLUDE A DECK OF TAROT CARDS. The cards are rich in symbolism, and were created by revitalizing the works for various Christian Mystics over the past several centuries whose works are now in the public domain. Throughout history, Christian Mystics and Alchemists have embarked on the most fundamental spiritual quest, which has been referred to by names such as the Quest for the Holy Grail, the Philosopher's Stone, or Elixir of Life, or the Completion of the Great Work. All of these titles refer to the same quest; the efforts of mankind to overcome original sin, purify their souls, and triumph over death. The Christian Mystic Tarot documents this journey with recreations of wood engravings by various Christian Mystics and Alchemists who devoted their lives to that pursuit. This Tarot Deck is unique in that it is made up of 90 cards; divided into five suits in the Minor Arcana, and 24 cards in the Major Arcana. This deck is somewhat abstract and is loaded with symbolism. The images and symbolism are related to the Judeo-Christian worldview, but the cards do not address any specific events in the Bible. If you are looking for a tarot deck based on Biblical events (with key words on each card for easy reading), check out the author's other deck titled, 'The Tarot of the Most High: Reflections on the Bible." However, if your style of tarot reading is based more on the interpretation of images and symbolism, then this deck will inspired you to contemplate humanity's timeless struggle with original sin, the purification of the soul, and quest for eternal salvation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “This insightful book will help you to see both the cards—and Christian spirituality—in surprising new ways." — Carl McColman, author of The Big Book of Christian Mysticism and Eternal Heart In the chaos of daily life, many Christians long for the time and mental clarity to reflect on scripture, to worship, and to pray. The Tarot can become an unexpected tool in this journey, inviting us to pause, contemplate, and find insight and wisdom in our walk. In The Contemplative Tarot, author Brittany Muller draws deeply on Christian tradition and theology to create a tarot practice built on spiritual reflection, prayer, and worship. The Tarot has held countless meanings to countless readers over the course of its existence, but The Contemplative Tarot offers a uniquely Christian interpretation of the cards, including Bible verses and meditations on each of their spiritual meanings. Brittany provides practical guidance on how to use the cards in a Christian context, whether as prompts for personal prayer, daily reminders of spiritual truths, or as part of a more structured practice such as the Ignatian examen. The Contemplative Tarot offers a thoughtful, introspective new interpretation of the Tarot and an invitation to create powerful moments of reflection and worship in your daily life.

Written anonymously and published posthumously, as was the author’s wish, the intention of this work is for the reader to find a relationship with the author in the spiritual dimensions of existence. The author wanted not to be thought of as a personality who lived from 1900 to 1973, but as a friend who is communicating with us from beyond the boundaries of ordinary life. Using the 22 major arcana of the tarot deck as a means to explore some of humanity’s most penetrating spiritual questions, Meditations on the Tarot has attracted an unprecedented range of praise from across the spiritual spectrum.

Book Urim and Thummim

Download or read book Urim and Thummim written by D. W. Prudence and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-04-05 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Urim and Thummim were the prescribed method of divination used in the Old Testament of the Bible, which the Tribes of Israel used to consult the LORD. The objective of this book is to provide a functional means of using the Urim and Thummim in conjunction with the Breastplate of Judgment to assist in the decision making process. The Judeo-Christian believer will find this method of divination superior to others, because it encourages the inquirer to use the Bible to develop solutions for life's problems. Like all forms of divination, it can be done for meditative or recreational purposes, or as a way of exercising the mind and improving in one's problem solving abilities. This book is structured to allow immediate use of the Breastplate of Judgment. After using the Urim and Thummim to select a Tribe of Israel, you can immediately turn to the corresponding chapter and begin analyzing the information to assist in the decision making process. Each chapter begins with a table that lists the blessings the tribe received from its mother, father, and Moses. General attributes are separated into positive (Urim) and negative (Thummim) qualities. Each of the sections in the table is then elaborated on further, followed by relevant information taken from the Pseudepigrapha Apocrypha. This book is structured to serve as a reference guide for utilizing the Breastplate of Judgment, but it can also be read from cover to cover to gain insight into the Twelve Tribes of Israel or to explore other concepts related to Judeo-Christian divination. To demonstrate that contemplative divination functions by using intuition and deductive reasoning in unison to evaluate abstract information against a set of criteria, the Astrological connections commonly associated with Palmistry were replaced with characteristics from members of the family of Israel. This demonstrates the interchangeability of set criteria, and reinforces the fact that the information derived by divination is the result of a person's mental efforts. Divination is a process that relies more on the art of interpretation, than it does on the random selection of concepts. The Urim and Thummim were the only prescribed method of divination authorized in the Bible, and the High Priest used them to obtain guidance from God. The 'Urim and Thummim Divination Kit' is the only functional system for using the Urim and Thummim in conjunction with the Breastplate of Judgment in existence today. This book is truly unique. Not only does it provide the only functional method of using the Breastplate of Judgment with the Urim and Thummim, but it also presents Judeo-Christian based systems of Palmistry, Dream Interpretation, and Tarot Card Reading. It presents these systems as a means of spiritual growth, and relates them to other mystical Judeo-Christian philosophies such as Alchemy and the Kabbalah.

Download or read book Tarot Awareness written by Stephen Walter Sterling and published by Llewellyn Worldwide. This book was released on 2000 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever looked at the mysterious symbols on the Tarot cards and wondered what they meant? Or perhaps you have read the Tarot for others for many years but still don't understand how to use them for meditation and spiritual development. Or perhaps you use the intense imagery of the Tarot for meditation, but don't think it is "appropriate" to use this mystical tool for readings. Well, now you can learn the meaning of the symbols for spiritual development and for giving great readings in Stephen Walter Sterling's Tarot Awareness. The Tarot is composed of two major sections, the illustrated cards that form the Major Arcana and the cards of the Minor Arcana which are like a deck of playing cards with an extra court card for each suit. Each card has a meaning for a reading. The meanings of the cards are given in the text. The Major Arcana cards also are about the spiritual development of your consciousness. As you go through the cards, from zero to twenty-one, you follow the progression of yours spirituality. The fifty-six cards of the Minor Arcana are associated with your development from the spiritual to the physical. In fact, they deal with the four levels of progression to manifestation, the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical. Put this all together, and for the first time you have a book which integrates spiritual and practical, meditative, and divinatory. One of the great things about the Tarot is that it's symbolic. Since the unconscious works through symbols, it speaks to you. Just working with the Tarot helps you to evolve, especially when you understand the Tarot's spiritual truths. In order to work with the cards the book shares five different readings you can do. As an added bonus, the book also deals with the difficult subject of "proximity," relating the cards in a spread to each other as opposed to just their positions in the spread. This can enhance your readings on your quest for spirituality.
