Download or read book The Journey written by Althea Smith and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-03-09 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is not necessarily a Christian book; it's a "human Book." We all find ourselves on planet earth. We've been taught that our mother and father bought us into this world, and we must be successful, rich, and happy. We are taught life is short, and we must make the most of it. We spend most of our life chasing what the world teaches us as success. Unknown to most humans, it did not begin with your mother and father. It begins with an omnipotent, omnipresent, all-powerful, almighty, self-existing God. Before the world was, he is. God the creator has a relationship with every single human being on this planet. Whether they believe in him or not, or call him by another name, he is still Daddy to all creation. Jesus is Father God, and in him we all live, move, and have our existence. Jesus is the Almighty God, the Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, the Wing Beneath My Wing, the Light of this Word, our Friend, our Father, our Sustainer, and he totally understands all of us. We are trying to understand him. We all want to know him more, but the only door to God's heart is true humility. Every human being must humble themselves daily and recognize that there is one greater than us, whether you love him or not. He's running the show. Jesus cannot be vetoed! Every human is unique in their own. This book is my life story. My journey a journey that was not planned by me. Did I have a journey planned? Oh yes. That path was fashion, being rich and successful, having two children, being married to my first love, and having a beautiful life with lots of joy and happiness. I was on that path until the Creator showed up, and I said yes! Yes! I did not know I could say no to the Creator--it's God! How am I gonna say no God? I like my path better--absolutely not. There is only one way, and its God's way. Cry, yell, scream, curse, say the F word--whatever you do, he's not moved by it. But follow him. After meeting Jesus in 1997 and saying yes, that path began to change, and my life took a drastic turn for the worse and was no longer going in the direction I worked so hard for. It was taking on a life of its own, and it wasn't pretty. If it was pretty, I would have been happy. My life became like a movie, and I was in the front row watching my life spin out of control, and at the same time, I was the main character. My life was now embarrassing to me. What breaks you and what breaks me is different. This book is my journey to find true intimacy with Jesus, and if I truly knew the cost and all I was going to endure, well, that is why it's a journey. And thank God I'm still here to tell my story because if it was up to my strength, I would have died in 2004. That was one of my many low and grave states. There is so much we learn in our journey, and looking back, I wish I did this and that. But the truth is, I did the best I could. For years I felt like I was naked on a cross with one million fiery hot swords piercing through my body; and everyone I looked to, to take me down from the cross actually add another spear. Those spears stayed in my soul until I no longer felt them; then they were no longer an issue. The Savior of my soul is my sustaining power. God kept me, God healed me, God taught me, God loves me, God stood by me even when I was failing him and was miserable. He never gave up on me, and I know he will see me to my promised land or, if I die, forever living in eternity with him. 122
Download or read book Soul Dance Collection written by Ann Gimpel and published by Ann Gimpel Books, LLC. This book was released on 2018-10-10 with total page 889 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over 1100 pages of can’t-put-down paranormal fiction. Shifters and gypsies hate each other, but they hate vampires more. If they can’t set their differences aside and forge a new alliance, they’ve signed their own death warrants. And if magic dies out of the world, humans won’t be far behind. Tarnished Beginnings Tairin Jabari was born in a caravan and has always believed she's Romani. Why wouldn't she? Her mother and father never suggested otherwise. The Rom have harsh rules. When Tairin's first shift catches her unaware at thirteen, her father disappears, and the elders move with deadly speed to punish her mother for mating outside the blood. Tarnished Legacy Half Romani, Tairin's no stranger to hiding her mixed blood from gypsy caravans. What she can't hide is her perpetual youth, courtesy of her shifter heritage. Every few years, she drops out of sight, resurfacing in a new country to join a caravan where no one knows her. She's overstayed her welcome where she is, but Germany is at war, and travel has become all but impossible for everyone targeted by the Reich. Tarnished Prophecy Magic runs strong in Ilona, a gypsy seer. Powerful ability isn't valued in Romani women, so she focuses her fortunetelling on inconsequential details. Nothing that could come back to haunt her caravan if a prediction went bad. Rounded up and dumped in Dachau prison camp, she has plenty of time to rue her decision to downplay her ability. If she'd taken the time to scry her own future, she'd still be free. Tarnished Journey Long before Germany targeted the Romani people and sent them to prison camps, the Netherlands declared them undesirables. Yara's caravan disbanded when she was fifteen to avoid being driven out of the country. Ten years have passed, and she's been alone for most of that time hiding in caves and abandoned buildings. It's been a lonely life, but at least she still has one. For now. Book excerpt: I like things neat, so shoot me. Or poison me. Or run me through with a broadsword. Doesn’t matter how you try to end me, werewolves are immortal. Back to liking things neat… I’ve been killing forever, both as a wolf and as a man. The assassin trade has always been lucrative, and, a few hundred years back, a much simpler affair. No DNA tests. No sophisticated crime labs. I didn’t have to plan the way I do today to avoid detection. Not that it would matter if I were apprehended. I’d just vanish to a borderworld for a while and resurface once the heat died down. Mostly, I deal with supernatural enemies these days. Keeps things cleaner. But this book isn’t about today. It’s about long ago. I’ve done my damnedest to instill pride and standards into the assassin trade. And bond animals. Their principles definitely add class to the mix. Building the Circle was an uphill battle. I almost gave up more times than I can count, but nothing worthwhile comes easy. The Circle of Assassins became my life’s work. Didn’t plan it that way, but life happens. Life, bloodthirsty mages, and the bond animals who adore them. Author note: This book can be read as a standalone, but for the best experience, you might want to read the first four books in this series.

Amid the turmoil of Civil War, this petite Missouri belle fell in love with a handsome Mexican freighter. He didn't speak English, and she didn't speak Spanish, but their romance grew stronger in the untamed territories of New Mexico and Arizona. Experiencing a life of tragedy and triumph, Mamie retained a deep spiritual strength as she raised her three sons and taught in Arizona's first public schools. A feisty lady with an independent spirit, she is now recognized as a "Woman of Inspiration" in Arizona Women's Pavilion (Hall of Fame), Tucson.

Book excerpt: The only constant in my long life is murder. Assassin for hire, to put a finer point on it. I’m an earth wizard. Usually, we’re on the peaceful side. Not sure what happened to me, but I never fit in with my kinsmen. They’d have chased me out of the fold—for obvious reasons—but I saved them the trouble. I left on my own. The same way I left the Circle of Assassins because it was too tame for my taste. Or maybe too structured. Along with my bondmate, an oversized eagle, I’ve been playing fast and loose with the rules forever. Of course, the rules have changed, but I’ve rolled with the punches. Never found a policy I couldn’t manipulate to my advantage. There’s an old saying about life coming full circle. It’s about to snatch me up and spit me out. I can run, but there’s nowhere far enough to hide from what I am or the Circle of Assassins. My first home. My first nemesis. Grigori said I’d be back. How in the hell could he have known?
Download or read book GenTech Rebellion Books 1 3 written by Ann Gimpel and published by Ann Gimpel. This book was released on 2021-03-27 with total page 638 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Series Backstory Sometime between the interminable wars in the Middle East and 9/11, the United States bred a race of super soldiers. Clandestine labs formed, armed with eager scientists who’d always yearned to manipulate human DNA. At first the clones looked promising, growing to fighting size in as little as a dozen years, but V1 had design flaws. Seven years ago, a rogue group turned on their creators, blew up the lab, and hit all the other breeding farms, freeing whomever they could find. In the intervening time, they retreated to hidden compounds and created a society run by men. Women are kept on a tight leash because the men fear if they discover their innate power, they’ll launch their own rebellion. Winning Glory Being a genetically altered human without a name grew old, so Glory named herself. Surrounded by a maze of unpleasant alternatives, she makes a bold choice and ends up a fugitive in the midst of a Minnesota winter. CIA agent, Roy Kincaid, devoted his career to hunting super humans who staged a rebellion seven years before. He’s not making much headway, so he goes deep undercover. One blustery night, a striking woman staggers into the café where he’s catching a late meal. Part waif, part runway model, the half-frozen woman arrows straight into his heart. Glory’s flat out of alternatives, but death in the storm might be preferable to telling the tall stranger looming over her anything. Sensing Roy is dangerous, she pushes into his head seeking clues and discovers he hunts those like her. Maybe she can fool him, just for tonight. Get a hot meal and dry motel room out of the deal. If she’s lucky, he’ll never find out she’s on the run from the same group he’s targeted for death. The thing she didn’t count on was falling in love. Honor Bound Honor takes a huge chance and flees her compound one wintry night. A genetically altered woman, she has no memories from before a rebellion seven years before. Because of her enhanced physiology, she finds a home working for the CIA alongside four other women just like her. There are still plenty of rules, but they’re different, and she’s figuring out how to blend in. Milton Reins burns through women and marriages. After the third one implodes, he swears off hunting for a replacement. Running the CIA is a more than fulltime job. There’s no time for anything else in his life, which is fine until Honor comes along. Training in the gym throws their bodies together, and makes him remember the feel of a woman in his arms. Milton aches for her, but she’s a freak, the CIA term for test tube humans designed by scientists. Honor wants Milton with every bone in her body, but it’s a terrible idea, especially after she delves into his head and discovers his ambivalence toward her kind. Need drives them together, but their differences create roadblocks every step of the way. Fueled by anger and fear, she shuts him out. So what if the sex was great, she’s done. Or is she? Claiming Charity Charity’s luck never ran strong because her original configuration was unstable. Her handlers designed patches to fix the problem, but they only made it worse. Sick to death of living under their thumb, she jumps at a chance to escape. She’s barely settled in as a CIA special operative—a role where she can put her augmented mind and body to use—when her wobbly genetics decompensate. Tony’s a freak—a genetically altered superhuman waging war against the government. He snaps up an offer of amnesty, walking away from his role as a genetic researcher to work for the CIA. When Charity collapses, he labors to save her life, but nothing’s working. In a last ditch effort, he joins his mind to hers and discovers he wants her more than he’s ever wanted anything. Only problem is she hates every single male like him because of how they treated women in the compounds. Charity recovers from her medical crisis, but all she can think about is Tony. Furious, determined to never let anyone like him near her, she blocks him from her mind, but he seeps back in anyway. Loving someone like Tony is a huge risk, a gamble that could throw her already volatile genes into a tailspin. Knowing all that, why the hell is she considering it?

Book excerpt: Gone. Everything. In one fell swoop. Maybe it didn’t happen quite that fast, but it sure seemed like it. I remember everything like it was yesterday. Or, more accurately, I couldn’t forget even if I tried. And I have, tried that is. With every fiber of my being. But the damned tape reel has an automatic replay button, and it blasts through my brain over and over again. I was just nineteen then. One very long year ago. I’d finished my first year at university and was on vacation between semesters. We were in Mexico at a sorcery retreat when our phones beeped and screamed warning of impending doom. Details didn’t emerge for a long while, but our relative isolation in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains saved us from immediate annihilation. We should have remained there, but hindsight is always twenty-twenty. In an ill-conceived attempt to escape, we finally gave up navigating clogged roads, left our bus, and teleported back to the States. I’m not sure if that was the beginning because it felt like the end of everything I’ve ever known. Survival has reduced me to someone I barely recognize. Some days, I wonder why I bother, but then I pick up the banner and face another day. Better not to think too hard or pick reality apart. If I did, I’d loose my power and burn down the world.

Book excerpt: A druid’s determination...A witch’s stormy rite of passage... Katerina eats, sleeps, and breathes cultural anthropology. The only stain on her success is her worry she’ll go mad just like a few other women in her family. That fear rockets to the fore when she’s on a lecture tour in the Scottish Highlands and hallucinations grab her, visions rife with horrors straight out of medieval folklore. Arlen, Arch Druid for all of Great Britain, hasn't called on his magic much in the past hundred years. No need for it in the midst of the twenty-first century. While attending a lecture, he detects fell forces. A closer look reveals the impossible. He’d thought the Roskelly witches long dead. Brutal, feral, violent, they were the force behind Scotland’s bloodiest clan wars. Risen from their crypts, they’re intent on Katerina. What he can’t figure out is why. Finally! A challenge for his long-neglected powers. Far from being grateful, though, Katerina doesn’t trust him. Why should she? A headlong dash to escape his unwanted attention lands her three hundred years in the past with no way out. READER PRAISE FOR TIMESPELL: To me it’s important to become invested in a story quickly. From the beginning to the end I was addicted. Between the time travel, the wicked witches, the mind-blowing magic and the romance I couldn’t ask for more. Goodreads Review An interesting time travel story, very unique in the time travel purposes. Goodreads review Amazing. I absolutely enjoyed every moment I was absorbed in these pages!! This story instantly immerses the reader from the present into the 1700’s, not a great time for women let alone ... witches, druids and hunters. Goodreads review Wow, what a great read. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bundled together for the first time! Over 1200 pages of riveting vampiric urban fantasy. Harsh Line My very existence is under attack. I’ve kept a low profile, told myself the craziness sweeping the world would pass me by. Yeah, it was wishful thinking, actually an outright lie, but it’s kept me sane. I’ve been hiding out forever in one guise or another. Currently, I run a nightclub. Ascent is an “ask me no questions, and I’ll tell you no lies” haven. For everybody. I’m a Vampire. Far be it from me to judge. My closest ally is a shapeshifting dire wolf. I adopted him when he was a scrawny puppy, but I’m getting ahead of my tale. The fragile détente between supernaturals and humans has crashed and burned. I can’t avoid the truth any longer. Lucky for me, mortals don’t know exactly what I am. When I moved to Seattle, some vampiric sixth sense urged me to play my cards close to my vest, but I’m done burying my secrets. And my power. Warped Line I chose stasis—a long sleep—for me and two of mine. Hard to time these things, but we woke in the eye of a cyclone. When I went to sleep—to avoid being drained of magic and blood by dark Sorcerers—Vampires weren’t exactly on the endangered species list, but not many of us are left. No one ever accepted us. Not mortals and not others with power, either. At least one of those dams has developed a few cracks. Supernaturals aren’t quite welcoming, but they’ll take help from any quarter. Mortals have declared war on magic, and they won’t rest until we’re all sitting in iron-clad prisons. What a bunch of cowards. If they weren’t hiding behind false humanitarian walls, they’d be honest about their intentions and do their damnedest to kill us outright. Cracked Line Vampires don’t fall in love. Except I did. Not the best decision of my long life. I definitely cracked an unspoken line, but Ariana trounced me as far as line-crossing went. Very few acts constitute crimes in Vampire circles. Hers was the worst. I fled to the Old Country to buy myself thinking time. I still loved her, but what she’d done was so vile I couldn’t set it aside. We face huge problems, but I’m tackling them one by one. I’ll return to Ariana’s side, but perhaps only as her comrade-in-arms. Time will tell if we can be more to each other. Time and circumstances. In a world without magic, Vampires will wither along with every other magic-wielder. I cannot let that happen. Broken Line In all my years as a Vampire, hundreds of them, I never imagined humans would be anything other than food. Rich, pure, delectable blood. Prey that fought back never posed a problem. Mortals couldn’t stand against those of us with supernatural ability. That world still exists, but it’s taken a backseat to humans who’ve joined forces with turncoat mages. Mortals were never meant to wield power. Over the long haul, they’re sure to be very sorry for the choices they’ve made. Maybe someday I’ll be a humble innkeeper again, but it’s so far in the future I can’t even think about it. Nope. For now, all I see is blood. Rivers of it, and not running down my gullet, either. On the plus side, I have good friends, powerful allies, and a Vampire who loves me. We have to come through this unscathed. Have to. I’m Ariana Hawke, and I take care of what’s mine.
Download or read book Rhiana written by Ann Gimpel and published by Ann Gimpel. This book was released on 2021-06-29 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I’m one of the old ones. I’ve lived many lives, done many things. I’ve been called sorceress, witch, and far worse. Mortals have hung me, burned me, staked me out, and left me to die. What a pack of fools. I’m immortal, and their petty attempts were laughable. So were they when I stopped their puny, pathetic hearts. The thrill of ending someone never gets old, no matter how unbalanced the contest. When I want a break from everything, Dorcha—my bondmate—and I bide with the Circle of Assassins. I never mean to stay long, but the years have a way of slipping by. While I find peace within the Circle, Dorcha becomes restive. She never used to mind being the only unicorn, but she’s grown silent, withdrawn. The place within me where I feel her energy is often empty. We need a nice juicy assignment to get things back on track, a mission worthy of our skill. Excited by the prospect of free-flowing blood and the crusty stench of battle, I searched for her, but she was gone. Worse than gone, my link with her was buried beneath layers of unicorn enchantment. Could I find her? Sure, but she didn’t wish to be found.

Book excerpt: Magic runs strong in me, but power isn’t enough. I’ve traveled a long road since the Coven kicked me out. It’s only been a matter of weeks, but it may as well be years. I’ve learned a lot, and nothing at all. One thing’s for certain: my life up until now has been a sham. My wolf, beloved familiar, knew far more than he disclosed. Hard to fault him since he was trying to keep me safe. Mother, the one witch who could have shed light on my origins, is dead. Try as I might, I couldn’t save her. Along the way, a Fae took me under his wing, but it’s confusing. Damien says he loves me. I have no idea what I feel beyond sorrow and anger. All I want is to torch the Coven guild house, avenge Mother’s death, and locate Hecate, goddess of witches. Secrets of my origins lie within her. Secrets forged centuries ago. At one time, I was important to her, critical enough to bend rules. She’s abandoned me too, except she doesn’t get to walk away. I will find her and demand answers. Answers to shape the rest of my existence.

Book excerpt: Tumble into a world where magic won, but the price was high enough to annihilate almost everything—including love. Life in a shifter bordello is all Keira has ever known. None of the magicians’ guilds wanted her because of her mixed blood, and they didn’t protest when the shifters bound her as an indentured hooker. Mired in hopelessness, she longs for more. Barrett’s a full-blood magic wielder who operates a magician supply shop in what’s left of Seattle. No one is more surprised than him when the Sidhe leader commands him to extricate Keira from the shifters. Magic and intrigue throw Keira and Barrett together. but she has other priorities—like learning to control brand new magic she had no idea she possessed. Book excerpt: Magic runs strong in me, but power isn’t enough. Actually, these days nothing is enough. I’ve done a fine job alienating everyone who ever cared about me, from the witches in my Coven to the man I love to my wolfie familiar. Mother’s familiar left, winging a path to Faery. My wolf made it abundantly clear he’d have gone with her except the familiar bond doesn’t allow that level of latitude. He howled up a storm about being stuck with me, and then quit talking. Meanwhile, the babe growing within me is equally silent. He misses Damien’s soothing voice, mandolin, and Fae love. I’m under a geas to return my son to Faery the second he’s born. Ha! They’ll have to find me first. No power words in the universe will make me relinquish my boy. Hecate still rattles around in my mind. I’m done with her. If I hadn’t allowed her in, I’d still be in Faery with Damien’s arms around me. Woulda. Coulda. Shoulda. Talk is cheap. Pregnant. Nowhere to call home. No money. Nothing but my magic. Somehow, it will have to carry us through.
