Book Ceramic Ethnoarchaeology

Download or read book Ceramic Ethnoarchaeology written by William A. Longacre and published by Century Collection. This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ethnoarchaeology, the study of material culture in a living society by archaeologists, facilitates the extraction of information from prehistoric materials as well. Studies of contemporary pottery-making were initiated in the southwestern United States toward the end of the nineteenth century, then abandoned as a result of changes in archaeological theory. Now a resurgence in ethnoarchaeology over the past twenty-five years offers a new set of directions for the discipline. This volume presents the results of such work with pottery, a class of materials that occurs abundantly in many archaeological sites. Drawing on projects undertaken around the world, in the Phillipines, East Africa, Mesoamerica, India, in both traditional and complex societies, the contributors focus on identifying social and behavioral sources of ceramic variation to show how analogical reasoning is fundamental to archaeological interpretation. As the number of pottery-making societies declines, opportunities for such research must be seized. By bringing together a variety of ceramic ethnoarchaeological analyses, this volume offers the profession a much-needed touchstone on method and theory for the study of pottery-making among living peoples.

In the religious text What Strange Mystery Unites the Turkish Nations, India, Catholicism, and Mexico? learn the world's best-kept secret about people and the power they possess. Author Gene Matlock traces the ancient Turks, progenitors of all humankind, from their first home at the Arctic Circle. Consisting of five races, which the Bible calls Nephilim, they were the Yadu, Druhyus, Turvasa, Anu, and Puru.. Also called Aryans (Ari) and Kuru, the Nephilim were the progenitors of all civilizations, religions, and nations. What Strange Mystery Unites the Turkish Nations, India, Catholicism, and Mexico? discusses the religion of the Aryans, called Khristi, Krishtaya, or Kristihan. Their religion taught that by understanding the mysteries of the Cross and the Holy Trinity, mankind could live forever, both in and out of the flesh. Matlock also examines their ancient religion and its cultural and spiritual affect on India, Mexico, and Catholicism. In What Strange Mystery Unites the Turkish Nations, India, Catholicism, and Mexico?, Matlock guides us in relearning mankind's most important, simple, and easily verifiable "spiritual solutions". He also reveals how the objective practices of Duality, Cross Science, and the Holy Trinity can spiritually advance humans of all religious beliefs.

Download or read book Lake Baikal written by K. Minoura and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2000-12-08 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lake Baikal is the oldest lake and largest freshwater reservoir in the world. As a result of its exceptionally long geological history, the lake has been a theatre of evolution and speciation of organisms, and it currently harbors more species than any other lake in the world. Based on its unique nature, Lake Baikal was recently designated a World Heritage site and is regarded as a hotspot for evolution, speciation, and biodiversity. With its tremendously peculiar biota, Lake Baikal is now awaiting modern analytical approaches to the profound problems of speciation and evolution. In late autumn 1998 a symposium was held in Japan with the theme "Lake Baikal: A mirror in time and space for understanding global change processes" to bring together scientists from different disciplines who are studying Lake Baikal. Three international scientific associations: The BICER (Baikal International Center for Ecological Research), BDP (Baikal Drilling Project), and DIWPA (Diversitas Western Pacific and Asia) were involved in the organisation. This book contains a selection of papers presented at this symposium. They are interdisciplinary in nature and bring together results from geology, paleontology, chemistry, biology, limnology and physics.

Book Advance in Gluten Free Diet

Download or read book Advance in Gluten Free Diet written by Paolo Usai-Satta and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2021-01-20 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The only effective and safe treatment of celiac disease (CD) is a lifelong, strict exclusion of gluten, the so-called gluten-free diet (GFD). As a consequence, strict adherence to the GFD is highly successful and useful to achieve optimal control of symptoms in celiac patients, although, sometimes, nutritional problems can persist despite a strict exclusion of gluten. However, following a strict GFD is not easy and an updated quality assessment of available products is needed for further improvement in gluten-free product development. Similar to CD, GFD is the common dietary approach in non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity (NCGWS). NCGWS is another common gluten-related disorder without the diagnostic features of CD. Increasing interest in the association and interaction between irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional dyspepsia, and gluten-related disorders can expand our knowledge and understanding of the management of these disorders. In this respect, GFD is considered a therapeutic option in IBS and functional digestive disorders. New insights into the GFD are an exciting scientific challenge for researchers.
