Book Tao the Way to Biblical Wisdom

Download or read book Tao the Way to Biblical Wisdom written by Stephen Lau and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-05 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The interpretations of "Tao Te Ching" are as many as its translations. Each author is looking at Lao Tzu's immortal classic from his or her own perspective, and this is also one of the many reasons why "Tao Te Ching" is eye-opening and thought-provoking. The Bible and "Tao Te Ching" are among the most translated and extensively read books of all time, and for a good reason: one is about God's wisdom, and the other is about human wisdom. The author's own translation of "Tao Te Ching" is based on his belief that Lao Tzu's masterpiece is about the Creator of the universe, and that with true human wisdom man sees not only the manifestations but also the mysteries of His creation. The book is about true human wisdom without the "conditioned" thinking of contemporary wisdom. Without the "reverse" mindset of Lao Tzu, man may have difficulties in understanding the wisdom of God expressed in the Bible. The book is divided into four parts. Part One is about the author's reasons for writing the book, and also why "Tao Te Ching" is a "must read" for anyone who seeks real human wisdom. Part Two is the author's own translation of the 81 chapters of "Tao Te Ching" with respect to the Bible; each chapter is followed by some selected Bible verses for further reflection on what Lao Tzu has said. Part Three is about the essentials of Tao wisdom with detailed explanation in simple language and with everyday life examples to help the reader understand the profound wisdom of Lao Tzu. Part Four is an explanation of how Tao wisdom may help the reader understand God's wisdom in the Bible. Tao is the Way to Biblical wisdom.

Book excerpt: Lao Tzu and The Bible: A Meeting Transcending Time and Space Yuan Zhiming Translated by Chen Shangyu Has God's light ever shone on the vast land of China-"Land of God, ' so named by her ancient ancestors? This book vividly recaptures God's universal light shown to the Chinese sage Lao Tzu 600 years before Jesus was born. By comparing Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching with the Bible, Yuan Zhiming offers a ground-breaking interpretation of Lao Tzu's Tao in light of the Word, or Logos. Yuan Zhiming juxtaposes Lao Tzu's "Holy One" with Jesus Christ, systematically and thoroughly unveiling the nature and characteristics of the mysterious Tao in a concrete and understandable manner, resolving a riddle of 2,600 years. "The text speaks to our time, because so many people believe that mere secular teaching of "morality," such as Confucius taught, is sufficient, and because what we really need is a deep spiritual awakening, such as Lao Tzu announced. The profound teaching in Lao Tzu and the Bible enriches the spirit of not only the Chinese people but also the people of the West." -Dr. Paul de Vries, president of New York Divinity School and author of The Taming of the Shrewd Lao Tzu and the Bible offers not only a spiritual feast to the analytical minds about Tao/Word/Logos, illustrating Tao in a tangible form, the Holy One/Jesus Christ, but also provides helpful advice about how to follow and be united with Tao. A work of great erudition and wisdom, it contains deep insight, opening up the secrets of the Tao while also illuminating the Bible. This book will surely delight the hearts and minds of seekers of Tao.

Book excerpt: Tao Te Ching: Original Text and A Modern Interpretation by Yuan Zhiming English Translation by Daniel Baida Su and Chen Shangyu Among hundreds of English translation and thousands of Chinese interpretation of Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching, Yuan Zhiming offers a unique perspective - seeing Lao Tzu from the vintage point of the ancient Hebrew Bible. This is a dawning moment in the history of Lao Tzu interpretation. Historically, there have always been huge differences from one interpretation to another, each tinted with individual interpreter's specific world view, mostly from the view point of Confucianism, Buddhism, Legalism, Militarism, Yin and Yang, Neo-Confucianism, Marxism, and so on. Only in the light of the Bible, the mysterious and profound Tao becomes visible, touchable, explicit, and understandable. Yuan Zhiming describes his enlightenment: "When I enter into Tao, experiencing the magnificent and miraculous divinity through the life of Jesus, there seems a ray of brilliant light illuminating Lao Tzu, enabling me to recognize the inner meaning behind each of Lao Tzu's word." Yuan Zhiming firmly believes that there must be a spiritual source which links the ancient Hebrew civilization with the ancient Chinese civilization, and with all other ancient civilizations. This source is unquestionably originated from the One who sets all nations on one planet (Earth) and that One is Logos - Tao. Tao is universal. The universal Tao will illuminate all heart in the East and the West.

Fresh insights, practical, easy entry, and immense delight!” — Chungliang Al Huang, president-director, Living Tao Foundation, and co-author with Alan Watts of Tao: The Watercourse Way May you live during interesting times: so goes an ancient Chinese blessing—or some say curse. That wish has come true for us. Now what? In this radically illuminating book, Alan Cohen delves into one of the world’s most venerated wisdom texts for answers and brings the lofty and enigmatic concepts of the Tao Te Ching down to earth in fresh, easy-to-grasp language with practical, personal examples we can use to uplift our daily lives. Here Alan Cohen calls forth the ancient verses around themes that are central to our modern lives —from love to work to the lessons we learn from pain. Then he brings each message to life in short vignettes where he imagines himself a student of Lao Tse and interacts with the master directly and intimately. He invites you to join the ancient sage and the contemporary seeker as they wend their way through the challenges and triumphs of the same journey you’re taking yourself.

Download or read book The Eternal Source written by Richard Gordon Zyne and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009-02 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: o The Tao Te Ching is one of the oldest and most translated books in history. Over the past 2500 years, these eighty-one rudimentary verses have been translated, interpreted, and paraphrased innumerable times probably almost as much as the Bible. o The true beauty of the Tao Te Ching lies in its simplicity and general lack of law, codes, or dogma. The Tao Te Ching says that true wisdom cannot simply be written in words or symbols it must be lived and experienced. And, he who is truly wise does not even know how wise he is. o The sage, the prophet, or enlightened one, is simply called The Person. The Person understands and appreciates his impermanence and unrelenting move to complete union with the ETERNAL SOURCE. o The Person who is ultimately concerned about his relationship with God or ultimate reality and the possibility of reunion and centering within that source has already been grasped by the ETERNAL SOURCE. This act of grace is available to all. There is no need to ask any further questions or do anything: no words, no actions, no worship, no sacrifice. Anything additional would only distort reality. The Person who is centered within the ETERNAL SOURCE simply lives the truth, reveals the truth and is the truth.

Book A Tao of God

Download or read book A Tao of God written by Ron McCray and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2003 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the movie and stage play, Amadeus, Austrian Emperor Joseph II tells Mozart that ther are "too many" notes in one of Mozart's masterpieces. Mozart replies that there is just the right number of notes, not too many or too few. Such is the case with A Tao of God. There is just the right number of words to accomplish its intention, namely, to provide a road map of spiritual evolution beginning with an explanation of the human experiment to living a fulfilled and harmonious life with intermediate stops at emotional wounding, healing, and manifesting. The book's strength lies in the brevity and simplicity of its profound wisdom, which teaches that true healing comes from within, not without, and plots the course of the inward journey. In today's fast-paced world, where more and more people are awakening to their need for spiritual evolution, there are many questions- and many questioners- calling for quick, simple easy-to-find answers. Answers to questions about enlightenment and spiritual evolution have been provided for centuries in thousands of texts. There is indeed, nothing new under the sun. So- what makes A Tao of God unique A Tao of God is complete work that spans: The purpose of mankind, How we come to be spiritually wounded, How these wounds form the basis of all our perceived problems, How they create our perceptions of failures and insecurities, How to heal these wounds, Manifesting everything we need, and Living out lives in a state of perfect harmony and happiness. A Tao of God is short. All of the above is accomplished in about 100 pages. The book's core structure is 39 one to three page chapters. A Tao of God uses simple, straightforward language and strives for perfect clarity. It crosses the boundaries of religious, philosophical, and psychological thought. Because of its succinctness and breadth, A Tao of God is ideal for any seeker of spiritual enlightenment, from complete novices to those who have been consciously on their paths for years, even decades. It ties together the entire journey, and can be read at one sitting. And, just like the popular classics, A Tao of God is one of the few books that can be re-read over and over again, since its message changes the more deeply the reader penetrates the veil between the Earth and the domain of spirit. At this time in mankind's history when fear is running rampant and ruling so much of our actions, a simple and short explanation of what is happening in the nations of the world is sorely needed. Because nations are composed of people, the dynamics of why humans behave as they do are fully explained in A Tao of God. The book has a message of tremendous importance to all people, regardless of nationality, religion or creed. The message is: understand the true origins of fear, learn to release your own fears, and support others in doing the same. In this way you can heal the pain and fear that stop you, and manifest a life of true abundance- one that is filled with inner peace, happiness, love and total freedom. This is the contract A Tao of God makes with its readers. This is the promise that A Tao of God delivers.
