I thought Brad was everything that I was looking for in a guy. Until he showed me who he really is. Meeting Bailey and the Wild King MC members changed my life, and that of my daughter, for the better. I'm just looking to get on my feet and learn to live on my own. Having a guy around doesn't matter to me, and I'm not looking for one. Until I see the man that can see through me with one look. Tank. TankI've been through more things in my life than most people can even dream about going through. The Wild Kings have been my only family for so long. A few members that have had my back, whether I was Nomad or not, know my story. The rest, I don't let get that close. My son is dead and it's because I failed him. I vowed never to let anyone else get close to me. That goes out the window the second I lay eyes on strawberry blond hair and pale blue eyes. She captures my attention and no matter what I do, I can't get her, or her daughter, out of my head. For the first time in a very long time, I want to let someone in. I want to get close to her. Will Maddie's past threaten to tear them apart before they even begin? Can Tank get over his feelings from the past to truly let Maddie and Zoey in? Will bigger forces tear the club apart?

Book Atomic Salvation

    Book Details:

  • Publisher : Simon and Schuster

  • Pages : 468 pages

Download or read book Atomic Salvation written by Doctor Tom Lewis and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2020-07-08 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: So did not the atomic weapons bring about a great peace? Since the initial grateful acknowledgement of the success of the A-bomb attacks in ending World War II, there has been a steady reversal of opinion and sentiment: from a first hearty appreciation to a condemnation by many, of the United States for its actions. Atomic Salvation investigates the full situation of the times to a previously unplumbed depth. It examines documents from both Japanese and Allied sources, but it uses logical in-depth analysis to extend beyond the mere recounting of statistics. It charts the full extent of the possible casualties on both sides if a conventional assault akin to D-Day had gone ahead. The work is concerned solely with the military necessity to use the bombs, but it also investigates why that necessity has been increasingly challenged over the successive decades. Controversially, the book shows that the Japanese nation would have lost many millions of their people – likely around 28 million – if the nation had been attacked in the manner by which Germany was defeated: by amphibious assault; artillery and air attacks preceding infantry insertion, and finally by subduing the last of the defenders of the enemy capital. From the other side, the book investigates the enormous political pressure placed on America as a result of their military situation. The USA’s Truman Administration had little choice but to use the new weapon given the more than a million deaths Allied forces would undoubtedly have suffered through conventional assault. Through investigation of reactions then and since, Atomic Salvation charts reaction to the bombings. It looks briefly at a range of reactions through the decades and shows that there has been relentless pressure on the world to condemn what at the time was seen as the best, and the only, military solution to end the war. Never has such an exhaustive analysis been made of the necessity behind bringing World War II to a halt.

Book Uh Oh

    Book Details:
  • Author : Robert Fulghum
  • Publisher : Ivy Books
  • Release : 2010-04-14
  • ISBN : 0307755029
  • Pages : 258 pages

Download or read book Uh Oh written by Robert Fulghum and published by Ivy Books. This book was released on 2010-04-14 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Uh-oh” embraces “Here we go again” and “Now What?” and “You never can tell what’s going to happen next” and “So much for plan A” and “Hang on, we’re coming to a tunnel” and “No sweat” and “Tomorrow’s another day” and “You can’t unscramble an egg” and “A hundred years from now it won’t make any difference.” “Uh-oh” is more than a momentary reaction to small problems. “Uh-oh” is an attitude—a perspective on the universe. It is a power of an equation that summarizes my view of the conditions of existence: “Uh-huh” + “oh-wow” + “uh-oh” + “oh, God” = “ah-hah!”

Book Demolishing the Myth

  • Author : Valeriy Zamulin

Download or read book Demolishing the Myth written by Valeriy Zamulin and published by Grub Street Publishers. This book was released on 2011-06-27 with total page 636 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Comprehensive scholarship and convincing reasoning, enhanced by an excellent translation, place this work on a level with the best of David Glantz” (Dennis Showalter, award-winning author of Patton and Rommel). This groundbreaking book examines the battle of Kursk between the Red Army and Wehrmacht, with a particular emphasis on its beginning on July 12, as the author works to clarify the relative size of the contending forces, the actual area of this battle, and the costs suffered by both sides. Valeriy Zamulin’s study of the crucible of combat during the titanic clash at Kursk—the fighting at Prokhorovka—is now available in English. A former staff member of the Prokhorovka Battlefield State Museum, Zamulin has dedicated years of his life to the study of the battle of Kursk, and especially the fighting on its southern flank involving the famous attack of the II SS Panzer Corps into the teeth of deeply echeloned Red Army defenses. A product of five years of intense research into the once-secret Central Archives of the Russian Ministry of Defense, this book lays out in enormous detail the plans and tactics of both sides, culminating in the famous and controversial clash at Prokhorovka on July 12, 1943. Zamulin skillfully weaves reminiscences of Red Army and Wehrmacht soldiers and officers into the narrative of the fighting, using in part files belonging to the Prokhorovka Battlefield State Museum. Zamulin has the advantage of living in Prokhorovka, so he has walked the ground of the battlefield many times and has an intimate knowledge of the terrain. Examining the battle primarily from the Soviet side, Zamulin reveals the real costs and real achievements of the Red Army at Kursk, and especially Prokhorovka. He examines mistaken deployments and faulty decisions that hampered the Voronezh Front’s efforts to contain the Fourth Panzer Army’s assault, and the valiant, self-sacrificial fighting of the Red Army’s soldiers and junior officers as they sought to slow the German advance and crush the II SS Panzer Corps with a heavy counterattack at Prokhorovka. Illustrated with numerous maps and photographs (including present-day views of the battlefield), and supplemented with extensive tables of data, Zamulin’s book is an outstanding contribution to the growing literature on the battle of Kursk, and further demolishes many of the myths and legends that grew up around it.

Book excerpt: Humanity’s complex relationship with technology spirals out of control in this first book of an all-new series from “the owner of the most powerful imagination in science fiction” (Ken Follett). “How far ‘space opera’ has come! The Old Masters of sci-fi would admire the scope and sweep of Salvation.”—The Wall Street Journal In the year 2204, humanity is expanding into the wider galaxy in leaps and bounds. Cutting-edge technology of linked jump gates has rendered most forms of transportation—including starships—virtually obsolete. Every place on Earth, every distant planet humankind has settled, is now merely a step away from any other. All seems wonderful—until a crashed alien spaceship of unknown origin is found on a newly located world eighty-nine light-years from Earth, carrying a cargo as strange as it is horrifying. To assess the potential of the threat, a high-powered team is dispatched to investigate. But one of them may not be all they seem. . . . Bursting with tension and big ideas, Peter F. Hamilton’s Salvation is the first book of an all-new series that highlights the inventiveness of an author at the top of his game. Praise for Salvation “[A] vast, intricate sci-fi showstopper . . . The journey grips just as hard as the reveal.”—Daily Mail (U.K.) “Exciting, wildly imaginative and quite possibly Hamilton’s best book to date.”—SFX “Dynamic, multifaceted characters, strong mind-expanding concepts, and impressive flair for language [make Salvation a] rare celestial event. . . . One of Britain’s bestselling sci-fi authors has launched an addictive new book as the initial stage of what is sure to be an intriguing new series called the Salvation Sequence.”—SyFyWire “Peter Hamilton just keeps getting better and better with each book, more assured and more craftsmanly adroit, and more inventive. [Salvation is] a bravura performance from start to finish. . . . Hamilton is juggling chainsaws while simultaneously doing needlepoint over a shark tank. It’s a virtuoso treat, and I for one can hardly wait for Salvation Lost.”—Paul Di Filippo, Locus “Peter F. Hamilton is known as one of the world’s greatest sci-fi writers for a reason. . . . Salvation is well worth the effort and a great introduction to some good old-fashioned space opera.”—Fantasy Book Review

Book excerpt: Since the 'Christian Church' has abandoned its' Hebrew Roots, many false teachings are in our mainstream churches today and they are destroying the faith given to us by Jesus and carried on by His apostles. Over the centuries precious Biblical truths have been replaced by non-biblical church tradition, doctrine and creeds. Jesus warned us over and over again about deception, but deception were so well disguised in Biblical garb that seemingly no one saw it coming, until it was entrenched in Church Doctrine. And no one expected deception coming from the Church itself. And now, just as it said in the Book of the Revelation, all the world is deceived and following after the beast. You will be amazed, shocked and astonished as I was, to see what the scriptures call the great apostasy happening before your very eyes...The main stream churches are following the teachings of the lawlessness Beast, they are worshiping a god unknown before the 4th Century, just as we read in the Book of the Revelation.
