This book was released on 2018-01-12 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Tables of the Properties of Saturated Steam and Other Vapors A comparison of the several tables of the properties of saturated steam, expressed in English units, reveals discrepancies of considerable magnitude and investigation shows that, while all are in some manner founded on the experiments of Regnault, various methods of calculation have been used, and in some cases other experimental data have been employed. A review of the whole subject, in connection with the preparation of notes on thermo dynamics for the use of the students of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, made it seem important to calculate a set of tables, to accompany those notes, founded on the best and most recent data. Book Steam Tables

Download or read book Steam Tables written by Joseph H. Keenan and published by Wiley. This book was released on 1969-01-16 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Steam Tables Thermodynamic Properties of Water Including Vapor, Liquid, and Solid Phases —English Units By Joseph H. Keenan, M.I.T.; Frederick G. Keyes, M.I.T.; Philip G. Hill, Queen’s University; and Joan G. Moore, M.I.T. During the past decade a substantial body of experimental data on thermodynamic and transport properties of water has been produced and published by research groups in the USSR, Great Britain, Czechoslovakia, Canada and the United States. This book presents the results of a new and independent correlation of all this new thermodynamic data and all previously existing data. It is a new work to replace the well-known and widely used Keenan and Keyes tables. The tables in this new book are based upon a unique accomplishment. For the first time the whole body of high-quality experimental data on liquid and vapor water has been faithfully represented by a single fundamental equation. From this equation all thermodynamic properties can be calculated for any state. This equation is believed to extrapolate dependably in temperature from the upper limit of precise measurement (about 1500°F) to about 2400°F. Because of the increasing importance to both the practicing engineer and the student of a wide variety of problems that cannot be approximated by steady-flow idealization, internal energies are tabulated for all states: saturated liquid and vapor, compressed liquid, and superheated vapor. A reasonable range of metastable states is covered as extensions of the superheated-vapor and compressed-liquid tables. The Mollier and temperature-entropy charts are extended to substantially higher pressures and temperatures. This book also includes a table for ice-vapor equilibrium, an improved chart of isentropic exponents, charts of Prandtl number, a set of charts of heat capacity of liquid and vapor, and extensive tables of viscosity and thermal conductivity reproduced from the documents of the Sixth International Conference on the Properties of Steam. The book features legible type set by a computer-controlled typesetting machine. This results in accuracy, compactness, and convenience.

Book excerpt: Presents the results of the authors' independent correlation of all new experimental and all previously existing data on thermodynamic and transport properties of water, replacing the widely used Keenan and Keyes tables. The whole body of high-quality experimental data on liquid and vapor water has been faithfully represented by a single fundamental equation from which all thermodynamic properties can ve calculated for any state. Tables are given in SI units. This edition replaces the International Metric Units edition published in 1969.

Book Tables of the Properties of Steam and Other Vapors and Temperature Entropy Table Classic Reprint

Download or read book Tables of the Properties of Steam and Other Vapors and Temperature Entropy Table Classic Reprint written by Cecil H. Peabody and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-12-15 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Tables of the Properties of Steam and Other Vapors, and Temperature-Entropy Table The Tables of the Properties of Steam were published in 1888, to accompany the author's Thermodynamics of the Steam Engine in 1907 they were revised, taking advantage of added information then available, and a temperature-entropy Table was added to facilitate calculations for steam turbines. The properties of steam have recently been redetermined by new and refined methods, that are capable of great certainty and precision, so that computations based upon them Show a satisfactory concordance. These tables have been recomputed with this information, and may, therefore, be used with confidence and may be expected to have permanence. The temperature-entropy Table gives solutions of all adiabatic prob lems (and many others) both for saturated and for superheated steam with ease and precision, and permits us to make certain determinations not otherwise possible. For engineering purposes answers to such prob lems may in general be read directly from the table; greater refinement can be had by interpolation when necessary.
