Cette dernière est la conséquence logique d'une connaissance de plus en plus approfondie et détaillée des fonctions du système, des besoins croissants de productivité, de qualité et de sécurité, ainsi que de la progression très rapide de la technologie microélectronique. Le nombre de fonctions automatisées ou à automatiser devient de plus en plus important. L'implantation de ces nombreuses fonctions sur une architecture matérielle comprenant entre autres des capteurs et actionneurs intelligents, reliés dans la plupart des cas par des réseaux de terrain, conduit à un nouveau concept : le système automatisé à intelligence distribué (sapid). Dans l'objectif d'aboutir à une architecture opérationnelle du sapid, nous proposons un nouveau concept appelé modélisation par atomes de distribution, qui permet de réaliser une modélisation détaillée de l'architecture fonctionnelle du système d'automatisation. Nous proposons également une nouvelle stratégie de répartition base sur une approche de classification. Celle-ci est une méthode heuristique base sur trois algorithmes : l'algorithme ascendant r1 fondé sur le principe d'agrégation, l'algorithme descendant r2 basé sur le principe de décomposition, et finalement un algorithme mixte qui exploite les deux principes précédents. L'algorithme mixte permet de projeter l'architecture fonctionnelle du système sur l'architecture matérielle, en minimisant les coûts de communication. Book excerpt: Ce travail propose un placement des tâches d'un Système d'Automatisation à Intelligence distribuée (SAID) sur une architecture matérielle équipée d'un réseau de terrain. Une première partie met en évidence l'évolution du concept de Système d'Automatisation de Production (SAP) vers celui de Système d'Automatisation à lntelligence Distribuée (SAID). Cette évolution met en exergue principalement les progrès réalisés dans le domaine de l'instrumentation, des réseaux de terrain ainsi que des méthodes de conception. Ensuite une approche méthodologique propose une modélisation fonctionnelle d'un SAID qui montre les fonctions essentielles d'un système d'automatisation et permet de dénombrer les tâches à implanter sur le SAID. Dans un second temps, suite à une étude des différentes stratégies de répartition, une méthode est proposée afin de réaliser la projection de l'architecture fonctionnelle sur l'architecture matérielle. Il s'agit d'une méthode de programmation mathématique qui prend en compte certains critères et certaines contraintes de l'architecture fonctionnelle et matérielle telle que la taille mémoire, le temps d'exécution et également l'aspect communication avec le réseau de terrain FIP. Enfin l'implémentation sur un processus thermique pilote (PTP) permet de valider l'architecture opérationnelle proposée. Cette démarche s'inscrit dans une perspective de développement d'un ensemble d'outils pour la conception d'un SAID.

Book excerpt: The Violence of Modernity turns to Charles Baudelaire, one of the most canonical figures of literary modernism, in order to reclaim an aesthetic legacy for ethical inquiry and historical critique. Works of modern literature are commonly theorized as symptomatic responses to the trauma of history. In a climate that tends to privilege crisis over critique, Debarati Sanyal argues that it is urgent to rethink literary experience in terms that recall its contestatory potential. Examining Baudelaire's poems afresh, she shifts the focus of critical attention toward an account of modernism as an active engagement with violence, specifically the violence of history in nineteenth-century France. Sanyal analyzes a literary current that uses the traditional hallmarks of modernism—irony, intertextuality, self-reflexivity, and formalism—to challenge the historical violence of modernity. Baudelaire and the committed ironists writing in his wake teach us how to read and resist the violence of history, and thereby to challenge the melancholy tenor of our contemporary "wound culture." In a series of provocative readings, Sanyal presents Baudelaire's poetry as an aesthetic form that contests historical violence through rhetorical strategies of complicity, counterviolence, and critique. The book develops a new account of Baudelaire's significance as a modernist by dislodging him both from his traditional status as a practitioner of "art for art's sake" and from his more recent incarnation as the poet of trauma. Following her extended analysis of Baudelaire's poetry, Sanyal in later chapters considers a number of authors influenced by his strategies—including Rachilde, Virginie Despentes, Albert Camus, and Jean-Paul Sartre—to examine the relevance of their interventions for our current climate of trauma and terror. The result is a study that underscores how Baudelaire's legacy continues to energize literary engagements with the violence of modernity.

Book excerpt: This book is a significant contribution to the subject of mining time-changing data streams and addresses the design of learning algorithms for this purpose. It introduces new contributions on several different aspects of the problem, identifying research opportunities and increasing the scope for applications. It also includes an in-depth study of stream mining and a theoretical analysis of proposed methods and algorithms. The first section is concerned with the use of an adaptive sliding window algorithm (ADWIN). Since this has rigorous performance guarantees, using it in place of counters or accumulators, it offers the possibility of extending such guarantees to learning and mining algorithms not initially designed for drifting data. Testing with several methods, including Naïve Bayes, clustering, decision trees and ensemble methods, is discussed as well. The second part of the book describes a formal study of connected acyclic graphs, or 'trees', from the point of view of closure-based mining, presenting efficient algorithms for subtree testing and for mining ordered and unordered frequent closed trees. Lastly, a general methodology to identify closed patterns in a data stream is outlined. This is applied to develop an incremental method, a sliding-window based method, and a method that mines closed trees adaptively from data streams. These are used to introduce classification methods for tree data streams.

The conference brought together two hundred and fifty specialists from around the world. About ninety papers and twenty posters were presented covering three main topics : optimization and evaluation of the product design process, optimization and evaluation of the manufacturing systems and methodological aspects.
