Book Arch Dimensions and Arch Forms in Vertical Facial Patterns

Download or read book Arch Dimensions and Arch Forms in Vertical Facial Patterns written by Nabila Anwar and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The size and shape of the arches have a considerable implication in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning, affecting the space available, dental aesthetics and stability of the dentition. There are variant types of faces which orthodontists have to treat with best possible esthetics and stability in their clinics. The arch dimensions are usually modified according to treatment plan which can ultimately also affect the arch forms. Stability of arch form is one of the most desirable goals of orthodontics. Current literature is insufficient in relating arch dimensions and arch form with other craniofacial dimensions. Hence this book evaluates the relationships of the above and compares the arch forms in various vertical face types. This book gives comprehensive information about the subject of arch dimensions and arch forms. The conclusions and the clinical applicability section will guide clinical orthodontists in establishing the orthodontic treatment goals customized to an individual patient with the best possible esthetics and stability.

Book Orthodontic Diagnosis

Download or read book Orthodontic Diagnosis written by Thomas Rakosi and published by Thieme. This book was released on 1993 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An illustrated guide for the complex process of orthodontic diagnostics and indication. The total process of treatment planning including the scientific bases is pictorially described. Beside the conventional methods of examination and model analysis, emphasis is placed on the cranio-facial growth processes, the aetiology of malocclusions and on the importance of functional analysis. The following three aspects are described in detail in this book: Growth of the Facial Skeleton - types of treatment which promote or guide growth. In order to control these natural processes artificially, a precise understanding of them is required. Aetiology of the Malocclusion - the various types of causative therapy and the elimination of the causes. Functional Analysis - many malocclusions are a result of dysfunctions. As a variety of methods are available for treating dysfunctions, functional analysis is taken very seriously.

Book Effects of Unilateral Extraction Treatment on Arch Symmetry and Occlusion

Download or read book Effects of Unilateral Extraction Treatment on Arch Symmetry and Occlusion written by Theodore William Struhs and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Occlusal asymmetries are common in orthodontic patients. A treatment option for correcting moderate asymmetries is asymmetric extractions. This study evaluated post-treatment dental arch symmetry in patients treated with unilateral premolar extractions. Post-treatment casts of 60 patients were divided into four treatment groups based on the history of occlusal asymmetry and the treatment plan. DesignCAD3000 software (Upperspace Corporation, Pryor, OK) was used to evaluate asymmetrically treated arches for symmetry. The four treatment groups were compared to identify differences in arch asymmetry based on treatment. The lateral incisor and canine were found to be more palatal on the extraction side in patients treated with unilateral extractions (P .001). Arch length increased (P 0.001) and area under the arch decreased (P

Book 3D Diagnosis and Treatment Planning in Orthodontics

Download or read book 3D Diagnosis and Treatment Planning in Orthodontics written by Jean-Marc Retrouvey and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-03-13 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This richly illustrated book is a wide-ranging guide to modern diagnostics and treatment planning in orthodontics, which are mandatory prior to the initiation of any type of comprehensive treatment. The importance of three-dimensional (3D) imaging techniques has been increasingly recognized owing to the shortcomings of conventional two-dimensional imaging in some patients, such as those requiring complex adult treatment and those with temporomandibular joint dysfunctions or sleep disturbances. In the first part of this book, readers will find clear description and illustration of the diagnostic role of the latest 3D imaging techniques, including cone beam computed tomography, intra-oral scanning, and magnetic resonance imaging. The second part explains in detail the application of 3D techniques in treatment planning for orthodontic and orthognathic surgery. Guidance is also provided on the use of image fusion software for the purposes of accurate diagnosis and precise design of the most appropriate biomechanical approach in patients with malocclusions.
