Book Surviving the Grand Solar Minimum

Download or read book Surviving the Grand Solar Minimum written by Dennis DeLaurier and published by Dennis DeLaurier. This book was released on 2024-03-24 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome Be Prepared – Boy Scouts Things will always work out even when they don’t! - Author Hello and welcome to the Grand Solar Minimum. While you may be wondering just what a Grand Solar Minimum is, you may not know that you are living in it now. According to John Casey, a NASA Space Shuttle Engineer, it started in 20019. While you may not have been shoveling 40-foot drifts of snow at your location, things will pick up at the end of the 2024 - 2025 winter. You may or may not know that the sun goes through a cycle every 11 or so years. The sun also goes through other cycles of around 200, 400, and even 3600 years. During these cycles, sunspot activity decreases and at the end of the cycle starts creating sunspots again. The number of sunspots during a cycle can be correlated to the activity of the sun and the amount of energy (solar irradiance or SI) directed toward the Earth. The weaker the cycle (fewer sunspots) the colder the earth seems to get during these periods. While this book is about surviving the (Super) Grand Solar Minimum and things like food loss, breakdown of society, and bitter cold it is important to understand what is happening and the causes. If someone on the street yelled out "The world is ending", you would probably just laugh and go on your way. I can understand that you may be skeptical at this point. I certainly was until I looked at the information and data. This book will cover what the data and cycles look like and why George Washington took his army across the frozen Delaware River to attack the British. If it's winter and you check that river now you will note that it is not frozen at all. But why?

Book excerpt: WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK New Worlds is a mixture of Science, fiction, religion, truth, faith, and speculation done by the author. It is not about the end of the world but an era. As in the heading, all good things must come to an end, as nothing is forever except eternity. I wrote this book because of my belief that we are seeing that turning. As you will see this is a collection of what I see coming. There are many things to think about.

Book Rumblings From Crescent Hill

Download or read book Rumblings From Crescent Hill written by Dennis DeLaurier and published by Dennis DeLaurier. This book was released on 2024-03-24 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction Standing as a vigilant watchman on the wall of existence, I found an undeniable calling to pen down the thoughts that surged within me as the clock struck midnight, transitioning from 2023 to 2024 with an almost imperceptible murmur. The echoes of celebratory fireworks resonated, yet there was an unusual calm around the farm, a hushed symphony compared to the boisterous revelries of previous years. Lying in bed, I contemplated the mysteries concealed within the threshold of another year, pondering its potential revelations. Having endured three arduous months in hospitals, undergoing operations and rehabilitation in the crucible of 2023, I found myself in the quietude of my bed, having narrowly evaded the clutches of death. I had earnestly prayed for an end, but both God and family intervened, denying me the solace of death. Reflecting on the past trials and tribulations, I discovered gratitude in the resounding "no" that echoed through my moments of despair. However, the role of a watchman is not to succumb to slumber or bask in retrospection; rather, it is a divine summons to a higher purpose. As I lay there, the clock ticking towards midnight, I sensed a divine imperative, a calling beyond the tranquility of the moment. Having skirted the edges of mortality thrice before the tumultuous year of 2023, I recognized a greater mission unfolding. Thus, this book emerges as a testament to that calling. Residing on Crescent Hill, a humble farm in Central Texas atop a hill, I perceive the world from this vantage point, offering insights into the impending changes. It is a chronicle of what lies ahead, a forewarning of the looming transformation that awaits us. Amidst the tranquility of Crescent Hill, I find myself compelled to address the imminent shift in epochs. While the forthcoming era promises a brighter dawn, it also portends considerable tribulation for humanity. The journey towards that utopian horizon is fraught with challenges, and though the prospect of peace is within reach, it remains elusive, shackled by the unprepared will of mankind. As the clock ticks away, the narrative unveils with a profound assertion: "WHAT MAN WON’T DO, THE UNIVERSE WILL." This could have been the title itself, encapsulating the essence of the book. Delving into the integration of universal cycles and human endeavors over the next seven years, the narrative begins by elucidating the cyclical nature of the universe, drawing parallels with the seasons—life's perpetual cycle of growth, fruition, decay, and renewal.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Creator, do you have a family?” said my youngest. And he answered! Thus began our healing through awareness with Mina (how we address the human person—God—who built our universe), the archangels, and many others in spirit world. Our explosive conversation over the next 18 hours revealed God, angels, humanity, why we are as we are, and our universe as never before imagined. Spirit mediums Christopher McKeon and his daughters Ayako and El shatter the paradigms and magical thinking handed down to us through history by religion, philosophy, mysticism, and science. Experience, as we did, healing of your trauma, pain, and suffering through gaining awareness of your true reality. Included are ten historical spirit persons who give short testimonies of their experiences to help explain certain aspects of our—your—life reality. You'll never feel the same, or look at the world around you the way you did, as your awareness takes flight from unawareness with new wings on new winds. Be prepared for a story of life like nothing you've ever experienced. Best of all, you'll learn how you, too, can talk to Mina, 'angels,' your spirit family and guides, and willing spirit persons to get your own answers (without having to take ours on faith) as a ground-floor participant in the nascent worldwide energy testing community! For Mina, this book is all about healing your pain and suffering by revealing our personal, and larger, human reality. You'll find it all inside. A chapter summary: Part I is a narrative of our experience discovering energy testing and our shocking meet-up with our ‘creator;’ Part II describes how you and our universe are infinite and eternal as existence, time, space, and consciousness, including: —an overview regarding our true natural reality: matter, energy, gravity, mass, lightspeed (normal and actual), relativity and the quantum, black holes, the Big Bang, quantum entanglement/tunneling, how the natural universe interacts with the supranatural (spirit) universe; —what is All Existence of which our universe is a part; —all about consciousness (psyche) and how our physical body interacts with our spirit body; —‘psyche fundamental force’ (Intentionality); —and culture as the individual; Part III describes the origin of humanity and includes: —the birth of humanity; —who and what our creator is —how our universe came to be our home —why human life seems destructive and filled with pain and suffering; Part IV is the real ‘woo-woo’ of the book and includes: —how we exist and live as physicospirit-embodied individuals; —our mind, conscience, PTSD; —killing, abortion, euthanasia, suicide; —lineage and DNA; —what happens at death; —fate, destiny, and free will; —suffering, hope, depression, reincarnation, and the origin of slavery; —happiness, love and hate; —government and society; —evil; —beauty and ugliness; —spirit world; —the chakras and aura as they really are and what they do; —Intentionality; —who and what ‘angels’ really are; —history of Earth’s humanity and radiometric dating; —our physicospirit self; —religion; —what is healing, how to heal; —human freedom; —astral projection, the Akashic Records; —marriage, sex; —animal familials; —ten historical spirit persons' testimony: Duke Wen of Zhou, Hitler, Hannibal Gisco, Mio, Mnidho of Nihoa, Tethys, Jesus, Sun-myung Moon, Muhammad, Buddha; Part V teaches you energy testing so you can learn how to talk to Mina (God), 'angels,' your spirit family, spirit guides, and any willing spirit person to get your own answers to life.

Book Energy and Civilization

Download or read book Energy and Civilization written by Vaclav Smil and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2018-11-13 with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive account of how energy has shaped society throughout history, from pre-agricultural foraging societies through today's fossil fuel–driven civilization. "I wait for new Smil books the way some people wait for the next 'Star Wars' movie. In his latest book, Energy and Civilization: A History, he goes deep and broad to explain how innovations in humans' ability to turn energy into heat, light, and motion have been a driving force behind our cultural and economic progress over the past 10,000 years. —Bill Gates, Gates Notes, Best Books of the Year Energy is the only universal currency; it is necessary for getting anything done. The conversion of energy on Earth ranges from terra-forming forces of plate tectonics to cumulative erosive effects of raindrops. Life on Earth depends on the photosynthetic conversion of solar energy into plant biomass. Humans have come to rely on many more energy flows—ranging from fossil fuels to photovoltaic generation of electricity—for their civilized existence. In this monumental history, Vaclav Smil provides a comprehensive account of how energy has shaped society, from pre-agricultural foraging societies through today's fossil fuel–driven civilization. Humans are the only species that can systematically harness energies outside their bodies, using the power of their intellect and an enormous variety of artifacts—from the simplest tools to internal combustion engines and nuclear reactors. The epochal transition to fossil fuels affected everything: agriculture, industry, transportation, weapons, communication, economics, urbanization, quality of life, politics, and the environment. Smil describes humanity's energy eras in panoramic and interdisciplinary fashion, offering readers a magisterial overview. This book is an extensively updated and expanded version of Smil's Energy in World History (1994). Smil has incorporated an enormous amount of new material, reflecting the dramatic developments in energy studies over the last two decades and his own research over that time.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are we alone in the universe? How did life arise on our planet? How do we search for life beyond Earth? These profound questions excite and intrigue broad cross sections of science and society. Answering these questions is the province of the emerging, strongly interdisciplinary field of astrobiology. Life is inextricably tied to the formation, chemistry, and evolution of its host world, and multidisciplinary studies of solar system worlds can provide key insights into processes that govern planetary habitability, informing the search for life in our solar system and beyond. Planetary Astrobiology brings together current knowledge across astronomy, biology, geology, physics, chemistry, and related fields, and considers the synergies between studies of solar systems and exoplanets to identify the path needed to advance the exploration of these profound questions. Planetary Astrobiology represents the combined efforts of more than seventy-five international experts consolidated into twenty chapters and provides an accessible, interdisciplinary gateway for new students and seasoned researchers who wish to learn more about this expanding field. Readers are brought to the frontiers of knowledge in astrobiology via results from the exploration of our own solar system and exoplanetary systems. The overarching goal of Planetary Astrobiology is to enhance and broaden the development of an interdisciplinary approach across the astrobiology, planetary science, and exoplanet communities, enabling a new era of comparative planetology that encompasses conditions and processes for the emergence, evolution, and detection of life.

Book excerpt: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “The Uninhabitable Earth hits you like a comet, with an overflow of insanely lyrical prose about our pending Armageddon.”—Andrew Solomon, author of The Noonday Demon NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY The New Yorker • The New York Times Book Review • Time • NPR • The Economist • The Paris Review • Toronto Star • GQ • The Times Literary Supplement • The New York Public Library • Kirkus Reviews It is worse, much worse, than you think. If your anxiety about global warming is dominated by fears of sea-level rise, you are barely scratching the surface of what terrors are possible—food shortages, refugee emergencies, climate wars and economic devastation. An “epoch-defining book” (The Guardian) and “this generation’s Silent Spring” (The Washington Post), The Uninhabitable Earth is both a travelogue of the near future and a meditation on how that future will look to those living through it—the ways that warming promises to transform global politics, the meaning of technology and nature in the modern world, the sustainability of capitalism and the trajectory of human progress. The Uninhabitable Earth is also an impassioned call to action. For just as the world was brought to the brink of catastrophe within the span of a lifetime, the responsibility to avoid it now belongs to a single generation—today’s. LONGLISTED FOR THE PEN/E.O. WILSON LITERARY SCIENCE WRITING AWARD “The Uninhabitable Earth is the most terrifying book I have ever read. Its subject is climate change, and its method is scientific, but its mode is Old Testament. The book is a meticulously documented, white-knuckled tour through the cascading catastrophes that will soon engulf our warming planet.”—Farhad Manjoo, The New York Times “Riveting. . . . Some readers will find Mr. Wallace-Wells’s outline of possible futures alarmist. He is indeed alarmed. You should be, too.”—The Economist “Potent and evocative. . . . Wallace-Wells has resolved to offer something other than the standard narrative of climate change. . . . He avoids the ‘eerily banal language of climatology’ in favor of lush, rolling prose.”—Jennifer Szalai, The New York Times “The book has potential to be this generation’s Silent Spring.”—The Washington Post “The Uninhabitable Earth, which has become a best seller, taps into the underlying emotion of the day: fear. . . . I encourage people to read this book.”—Alan Weisman, The New York Review of Books
