A few modern instruments have been intro duced, and plates of those going or gone out of use have been omitted, and the book has been generally brought up to date. The war has, as might have been expected, furnished great opportunities for surgery, and surgeons and nurses alike will revert to the practice Of civil surgery better equipped in many particulars for the exercise of their calling.
