Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Lectures to Practitioners: On the Diseases of the Kidney Amenable to Surgical Treatment As a preparation for these Lectures an endeavour was made to bring together a complete collection of operations upon the kidney. With this aim a circular was addressed to surgeons, asking them to fill up an accompanying schedule giving certain details of their cases. In response to this appeal, not only was the subsequent history of a large number of published cases supplied, but also returns were made of many private operations performed at home and abroad. For this assistance the author desires to express his appreciation and thanks. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Surgical Diseases of the Kidney and Ureter Vol 1 of 2

Download or read book Surgical Diseases of the Kidney and Ureter Vol 1 of 2 written by Henry Morris and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-03 with total page 704 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Surgical Diseases of the Kidney and Ureter, Vol. 1 of 2: Including Injuries, Malformations and Misplacements; With Two Colored Plates and Upwards of Hundred Engravings The development of the surgery of the ureter, which had barely commenced ten years ago, has of late made remarkable strides, as is shown by the fact that from 1894 to the present time about one hundred papers on the subject have been published, whereas in the five years immediately preceding, the number might have been counted on the fingers of one hand. The Manual written in 1883 - 1884 is the nucleus Of Part I. Of this book; but that it is not more than a nucleus may be inferred from the growth of the literature during the last decade and a half and from the increase in personal experience gained by twenty years of practice in renal surgery. Part II. Of this book - namely, that on the ureter - is entirely new. The work was commenced in the summer of 1897, and has absorbed the whole of my spare time since then. It has been my desire to include everything of value which has been authentically established regarding the etiology, patho genesis, pathology, symptomatology, prognosis and treatment of the subject matters concerned; and where teaching or practice differs to give the views of representatives of the various schools. This book was released on 2018-02-08 with total page 680 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Surgical Diseases of the Kidney and Ureter Including Injuries, Malformations and Misplacements, Vol. 2 of 2 Whether the benign tumours ever take on a malignant charac ter used to be considered uncertain, but cannot any longer be doubted. Though the villous epithelioma is probably in most cases malignant from the start, yet Drew's case - in which the growth found in the renal pelvis was an epithelioma with cells Of the transitional type, and the growths in the ureter and bladder were simple papilloma - strongly suggests that the primary growth was simple but became malignant, and secondarily affected the liver and lymphatic glands, whereas the ureteral and vesical growths were caused by grafts of detached villous processes before the parent growth became malignant. Book Diseases of the Genito Urinary Organs and Kidney Classic Reprint

Download or read book Diseases of the Genito Urinary Organs and Kidney Classic Reprint written by Robert Holmes Greene and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-10 with total page 666 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Diseases of the Genito-Urinary Organs and Kidney It has been the purpose of the writers to present in this volume a discussion of the more important disease conditions of the uro-genital tract, taken from the standpoint of the general practitioner and surgeon. In so far as possible they have attempted to incorporate such methods as they personally have found most practical and useful, all of which they believe may be successfully employed in the hands of any well equipped practitioner, familiar with modern medical and surgical technic. The writers do not profess that the book is complete; this would be impossible in a work of this size. They have attempted to devote the greatest amount of space and the fullest descriptions to those conditions and methods which have appeared to them to be of the greatest importance, or to those which, being of recent development, may be presumed to be less familiar to the practitioner. A larger amount of space has been devoted to the urinary organs proper, and relatively less has been said of purely sexual disorders. The work is the conjoint product of a surgeon and a physician, and it is intended that equal attention should be devoted to both medical and surgical aspects of these diseases. References to literature have not been exhaustively made. So many suggestions of value have, however, been found in the work of Berger and Hartmann and in that of Frisch and Zuckerkandl that they require especial mention in this preface. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Functional Diagnosis of Kidney Disease: With Especial Reference to Renal Surgery Clinical Experimental Investigations Owing to the advances in physical chemistry and through the introduction into medical practice of ureteral catherization, Kidney Diagnosis has lately made the most gratifying progress. We have had opportunity on several occasions to refer briefly to our own participation in the work on the questions pending, and now publish the material which we have collected and investigated on this subject in the course of the last years. We hope that the results of our examinations will lead to a general utilization of the new method in Kidney Diagnosis. We have been aided in our work by Herren Geh. Rath Koenig, Dr. Kummel (Hamburg) and Professor Rotter, who placed appropriate material at our disposal. To them, as well as to Herr Geh. Rath Senator, in whose laboratory the physico-chemical investigations were carried out, we express our most sincere thanks. Book Injuries and Diseases of the Genital and Urinary Organs Classic Reprint

Download or read book Injuries and Diseases of the Genital and Urinary Organs Classic Reprint written by Henry Morris and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-09-18 with total page 496 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Injuries and Diseases of the Genital and Urinary Organs The ms. Of this work was completed in September, 1894, and was then put aside during the busy months of the winter session. It has since been carefully revised, and somewhat added to, with the wish that it might be fairly representa tive of surgical opinion and practice at the moment of its publication. It is in a way a continuation of my book on the Surgical Diseases of the Kidney, a second edition of which is now in course of preparation for the Press. For many years it has been my intention to publish a treatise on the Surgery of the Genital and Lower Urinary Organs. In 1885 I undertook a series of articles on these subjects, but the pressure of other work made it difficult for me to write them in the allotted time, and I was graciously allowed to withdraw from my engagement. It is only too probable that my intention would still have remained nu realised, had I not made a promise to contribute the articles on these subjects to the System of Surgery edited by Mr. Frederick Treves. This promise has influenced me not only to write this book without further procrastination, but to write it on the lines adopted in that work. Book Estimation of the Renal Function in Urinary Surgery Classic Reprint

Download or read book Estimation of the Renal Function in Urinary Surgery Classic Reprint written by J. W. Thomson Walker and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-12 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Estimation of the Renal Function in Urinary Surgery In the following pages will be found a clinical study of the present means of estimating the renal function in surgical diseases of the urinary organs which involves a study of symptomatology and of the application of physiological methods to diagnosis in urinary surgery. To this is added some discussion of the cases to which such methods are applicable. The signs of a failing renal function are usually insignificant, and constant contact with large numbers of cases of urinary disease is necessary for their full appreciation. In describing them I have endeavoured to give each its proper measure of importance in an estimation Of the activity of the kidneys. The physiological tests of the renal function have acquired, in the short time that has elapsed since their introduction, an important place in diagnosis. In this volume I have considered the clinical application of these methods in urinary surgery, and have given prominence to those which experience has taught me provide the most reliable information.
