  • Author : Nicola Smuts-Allsop
  • Publisher : The Wessex Astrologer
  • Release : 2018-04-19
  • ISBN : 1910531278
  • Pages : 238 pages

Download or read book Fertility Astrology written by Nicola Smuts-Allsop and published by The Wessex Astrologer. This book was released on 2018-04-19 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite incredible and previously undreamed-of advances in modern medicine, for many women the issue of infertility remains a heart-breaking reality. Using a combination of traditional and modern astrological techniques, the author has delved deeply into the charts of hundreds of infertile women, and in many cases has unravelled what might be at the root of the problem. Sometimes it's a matter of location or timing, or it could be psychological issues in the relationship that are causing the block; whatever the reason, the author works closely with the couple - and often the medical profession - to produce results that are frequently positive where there has been no hope before. Although this is an advanced textbook for astrologers, the human element of the case histories is nothing short of inspiring, and from that perspective can be enjoyed by readers with no knowledge of astrology.

Exploring the planetary aspects and the houses of the horoscope, the ten lessons focus on the horoscope as a dynamic interweaving of polarities: not only the angles, the houses, and their related zodiacal signs are examined from the perspective of complementarity, but also the enigmatic Moon's Nodes, which are interpreted from a fresh and exciting perspective. Major and minor aspects are illuminated by examples and discussion from the group, and the importance of a missing element or aspect is discussed with originality and depth. Volume 2 of Mapping the Psyche is a superb successor to Clare's first volume on the planets and the zodical signs, and will provide solid groundwork for students taking their first steps in astrology, as well as deepening the understanding of experienced practitioners who can benefit from Clare's beautifully structured, elegant and comprehensive approach.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Horary astrology is a fascinating and exacting technique, and here is the perfect book to hone your skills. Author Petros Eleftheriadis presents over fifty valid charts taken from his client files which demonstrate, in clear steps, how to reach an answer. He stresses the importance of starting with the correct question; for instance, he doesn't accept 'Should I?' questions, saying 'Astrology charts cannot possibly show something that will NEVER materialize, something that will never become reality, so they cannot show how your life would be, had you made another decision.' So rather than asking whether you will win the lottery if you buy a ticket, the correct action would be to buy the ticket then ask if you will win. Ideal for students and professionals with some knowledge of horary astrology.

Book The Solar Activity Cycle

Download or read book The Solar Activity Cycle written by André Balogh and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-04-16 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A collection of papers edited by four experts in the field, this book sets out to describe the way solar activity is manifested in observations of the solar interior, the photosphere, the chromosphere, the corona and the heliosphere. The 11-year solar activity cycle, more generally known as the sunspot cycle, is a fundamental property of the Sun. This phenomenon is the generation and evolution of magnetic fields in the Sun’s convection zone, the photosphere. It is only by the careful enumeration and description of the phenomena and their variations that one can clarify their interdependences. The sunspot cycle has been tracked back about four centuries, and it has been recognized that to make this data set a really useful tool in understanding how the activity cycle works and how it can be predicted, a very careful and detailed effort is needed to generate sunspot numbers. This book deals with this topic, together with several others that present related phenomena that all indicate the physical processes that take place in the Sun and its exterior environment. The reviews in the book also present the latest theoretical and modelling studies that attempt to explain the activity cycle. It remains true, as has been shown in the unexpected characteristics of the first two solar cycles in the 21st century, that predictability remains a serious challenge. Nevertheless, the highly expert and detailed reviews in this book, using the very best solar observations from both ground- and space based telescopes, provide the best possible report on what is known and what is yet to be discovered. Originally published in Space Science Reviews, Vol 186, Issues 1-4, 2014.

Book excerpt: A follow-up to the classic "Surfing in South Africa", this is a new book, completely revised and updated. Written by Spike (Steve Pike), founder of the cult surfing website Wavescape.co.za, it comprises chapters on history, big waves, spots, culture, travel, oceanography, sharks (including a timeline of shark attacks) and a hilarious 'Surfrican' slang glossary. The book is illustrated with 180 graphics, cartoons and photographs. You will find quirky descriptions of surf spots along almost 3,000 km of coast (watch out for the razor-toothed tortoise), a photo essay of surfing personalities by acclaimed photographer Harry de Zitter, as well as colourful journalism from top writers covering subjects connected to the surfing lifestyle. Images come from top South African photographers, such as Barry Tuck, Tom Peschak, Michael Dei-Cont, Andy Mason, Lance Slabbert, Brenton Geach, and Pierre Marqua. The contributors of words added spice to an eclectic mix of culture and science. An original piece by Paul Botha forms the backbone to a much-expanded history chapter. Tom Peschak adds gravitas to issues around sharks and conservation. The brave life of John Whitmore is poignantly remembered by Tony Heard. Ross Frylinck gives gritty insights into the forlorn splendour of the Diamond Coast. Tongue in cheek, Gideon Malherbe uncovers our surfing addiction. Henri du Plessis provides a profile of a committed exponent of that addiction. Tony Weaver eloquently tackles the challenge of sharing the sea with sharks. Ben Trovato romps through issues around surfing evolution and lifeguards in skimpy Speedos.

Book excerpt: What am I doing here, and why doesnt life make any sense? Who am I, and what does it all mean, anyway? Through Surfing Realities, James Foster provides answers to these questions with precise pragmatism. Foster argues that there are no lasting answers and that nothing makes sense for those asking these profound questions because the context we have learned to accept is inaccurate. By deciphering and condensing thousands of hours of information received from Ascended Beings of Light through internationally known channel Nasrin Safai, Foster paints a vast landscape expanding our perspective to embrace a cosmic context. Through a step-by-step process, we gain greater understanding of how the game is really played on cosmic as well as personal levels and how it all blends together in a beautiful cosmic dance. A logical presentation of the nature of reality is given with practical tools to improve our own reality and that of our loved ones, earth and humankind. Surfing Realities covers a myriad of subjects including the history of this planet, the rise and fall of its civilizations, the expanse of the cosmos, the dimensions of reality, our hierarchy of beings, universal law, and the nature of duality.
