Download or read book Square Wave Voltammetry written by Valentin Mirceski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-11-08 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a real tour-de-force of scientific publishing, three distinguished experts here systematically deliver both the underlying theory and the practical guidance needed to effectively apply square-wave voltammetry techniques. Square-wave voltammetry is a technique used in analytical applications and fundamental studies of electrode mechanisms. In order to take full advantage of this technique, a solid understanding of signal generation, thermodynamics, and kinetics is essential. Not only does this book cover all the necessary background and basics, but it also offers an appendix on mathematical modeling plus a chapter on electrode mechanisms that briefly reviews the numerical formulae needed to simulate experiments using popular software tools.

Book Electrode Kinetics for Chemists Chemical Engineers and Materials Scientists

Download or read book Electrode Kinetics for Chemists Chemical Engineers and Materials Scientists written by Eliezer Gileadi and published by Wiley-VCH. This book was released on 1993 with total page 624 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Offering a thorough explanation of electrode kinetics, this textbook emphasizes physical phenomena rather than mathematical formalism. The underlying principles of the different experimental techniques are stressed over their technical details. Assuming an elementary knowledge of thermodynamics and chemical kinetics, and minimal mathematical skills, coverage explores the arguments of two primary schools of thought: electrode kinetics and interfacial electrochemistry viewed as a branch of physical chemistry, and from the perspective of analytical chemistry. Book Handbook of Electrochemistry

Download or read book Handbook of Electrochemistry written by Cynthia G. Zoski and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2007-02-07 with total page 935 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrochemistry plays a key role in a broad range of research and applied areas including the exploration of new inorganic and organic compounds, biochemical and biological systems, corrosion, energy applications involving fuel cells and solar cells, and nanoscale investigations. The Handbook of Electrochemistry serves as a source of electrochemical information, providing details of experimental considerations, representative calculations, and illustrations of the possibilities available in electrochemical experimentation. The book is divided into five parts: Fundamentals, Laboratory Practical, Techniques, Applications, and Data. The first section covers the fundamentals of electrochemistry which are essential for everyone working in the field, presenting an overview of electrochemical conventions, terminology, fundamental equations, and electrochemical cells, experiments, literature, textbooks, and specialized books. Part 2 focuses on the different laboratory aspects of electrochemistry which is followed by a review of the various electrochemical techniques ranging from classical experiments to scanning electrochemical microscopy, electrogenerated chemiluminesence and spectroelectrochemistry. Applications of electrochemistry include electrode kinetic determinations, unique aspects of metal deposition, and electrochemistry in small places and at novel interfaces and these are detailed in Part 4. The remaining three chapters provide useful electrochemical data and information involving electrode potentials, diffusion coefficients, and methods used in measuring liquid junction potentials. * serves as a source of electrochemical information * includes useful electrochemical data and information involving electrode potentials, diffusion coefficients, and methods used in measuring liquid junction potentials * reviews electrochemical techniques (incl. scanning electrochemical microscopy, electrogenerated chemiluminesence and spectroelectrochemistry)

Book Electrode Kinetics Reactions

Download or read book Electrode Kinetics Reactions written by R.G. Compton and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1987-12-01 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volumes 26 and 27 are both concerned with reactions occurring at electrodes arising through the passage of current. They provide an introduction to the study of electrode kinetics. The basic ideas and experimental methodology are presented in Volume 26, whilst Volume 27 deals with reactions at particular types of electrodes. Chapter 1 of the present volume deals with redox reactions at metal electrodes, Chapter 2 with semiconducting electrodes and Chapter 3 with reactions at metal oxide electrodes. Both theoretical aspects and experimental results are covered.

Book Correlation of Electrode Kinetics with Surface Structure

Download or read book Correlation of Electrode Kinetics with Surface Structure written by Michael J. Weaver and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The overall objective of this research is to develop an understanding of the relationships between the kinetics and mechanisms of some simple heterogeneous electron-transfer reactions and the molecular structure of the reactant and the electrode-solution interface. Emphasis is being placed on studies of transition-metal redox couples involving substitutionally inert complexes in aqueous media at a number of solid metals as well as at mercury electrodes. These reactions provide excellent model systems for studying structural effects in electron transfer, since they are mechanistically simple and either inner- or outer-sphere reaction mechanisms can be induced, depending on the ability of the coordinated ligands to bind to the electrode surface. Problems that were addressed included: (1) the effects of varying the nature of the metal surface upon the rates of inner-and outer-sphere reactions; (2) the influence of ionic specific adsorption upon the reactivities of outer-sphere pathways; (3)determination of the influence of reactant specific adsorption to the reorganization energy barrier for electron transfer, and (4) elucidation of the role of reactant-solvent interactions in redox kinetics and thermodynamics.
