Book Surface Stoichiometry Structure and Kinetics of GaAs MOCVD

Download or read book Surface Stoichiometry Structure and Kinetics of GaAs MOCVD written by and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We have used reflectance-difference spectroscopy (RDS) to examine the surface phases of GaAs(100) during metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). Since the identities of two important surface phases were unknown, we determined their structure and stoichiometry using a variety of surface science techniques. The Type III phase is a newly characterized As-rich (1 X 2)-CH3 reconstruction. The Type II phase is a metastable derivative of the Type I phase. RDS also indicates that the surface during MOCVD has a considerable degree of heterogeneity. Deposition rates were measured over a similar range of conditions and the kinetically-limited regime was found to correlate with the Type III phase. A simple kinetic model was found to quantitatively describe the deposition rates.

Book Materials for Optoelectronics

Download or read book Materials for Optoelectronics written by Maurice Quillec and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1996-01-31 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optoelectronics ranks one of the highest increasing rates among the different industrial branches. This activity is closely related to devices which are themselves extremely dependent on materials. Indeed, the history of optoelectronic devices has been following closely that of the materials. KLUWER Academic Publishers has thus rightly identified "Materials for Optoelectronics" as a good opportunity for a book in the series entitled "Electronic Materials; Science and Technology". Although a sound background in solid state physics is recommended, the authors have confined their contribution to a graduate student level, and tried to define any concept they use, to render the book as a whole as self-consistent as possible. In the first section the basic aspects are developed. Here, three chapters consider semiconductor materials for optoelectronics under various aspects. Prof. G. E. Stillman begins with an introduction to the field from the point of view of the optoelectronic market. Then he describes how III-V materials, especially the Multi Quantum Structures meet the requirements of optoelectronic functions, including the support of microelectronics for optoelectronic integrated circuits. In chapter 2, Prof.

Book Comprehensive Semiconductor Science and Technology

Download or read book Comprehensive Semiconductor Science and Technology written by and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2011-01-28 with total page 3572 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Semiconductors are at the heart of modern living. Almost everything we do, be it work, travel, communication, or entertainment, all depend on some feature of semiconductor technology. Comprehensive Semiconductor Science and Technology, Six Volume Set captures the breadth of this important field, and presents it in a single source to the large audience who study, make, and exploit semiconductors. Previous attempts at this achievement have been abbreviated, and have omitted important topics. Written and Edited by a truly international team of experts, this work delivers an objective yet cohesive global review of the semiconductor world. The work is divided into three sections. The first section is concerned with the fundamental physics of semiconductors, showing how the electronic features and the lattice dynamics change drastically when systems vary from bulk to a low-dimensional structure and further to a nanometer size. Throughout this section there is an emphasis on the full understanding of the underlying physics. The second section deals largely with the transformation of the conceptual framework of solid state physics into devices and systems which require the growth of extremely high purity, nearly defect-free bulk and epitaxial materials. The last section is devoted to exploitation of the knowledge described in the previous sections to highlight the spectrum of devices we see all around us. Provides a comprehensive global picture of the semiconductor world Each of the work's three sections presents a complete description of one aspect of the whole Written and Edited by a truly international team of experts

Book Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry III

Download or read book Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry III written by and published by Elsevier Science. This book was released on 2006-12-26 with total page 920 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry, (COMC-III), Third Edition, 13 Volume Set is aimed at the specialist and non-specialist alike. It covers the major developments in the field in a carefully presented way with extensive cross-references. COMC-III provides a clear and comprehensive overview of developments since 1993 and attempts to predict trends in the field over the next ten years. Applications of organometallic chemistry continue to expand and this has been reflected by the significant increase in the number of volumes devoted to applications in COMC-III. Organic chemists have edited the volumes on organometallic chemistry towards organic synthesis - this is now organized by reaction type so as to be readily accessible to the organic community. Like its predecessors, COMC (1982) and COMC-II (1995), this new work is the essential reference text for any chemist or technologist who needs to use or apply organometallic compounds. Also available online via ScienceDirect (2006) - featuring extensive browsing, searching, and internal cross-referencing between articles in the work, plus dynamic linking to journal articles and abstract databases, making navigation flexible and easy. For more information, pricing options and availability visit www.info.sciencedirect.com. Presents a comprehensive overview of the major developments in the field since 1993 providing general and significant insights Highlights the expansion of applications in organometallic chemistry with a strong organic synthesis focus Provides a structured first point of entry to the key literature and background material for those planning research, teaching and writing about the area
