Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you know those problems in your life have an expiration date? Have you ever experienced a problem and wondered when it will come to an end? Do you find yourself dealing with complex situations you feel inadequate or incapacitated to solve? You are not alone. Everyone has felt this way at some point in life. However, remember the will of God for mankind has always been a good and perfect one. The story of creation in Genesis chapter 1 and 2; and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (through Him, we have redemption, restoration, and salvation for our souls) are testaments to God’s perfect will for mankind. Everyone who receives the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ will still deal with problems on earth. Nevertheless, those problems can no longer overcome them because God has printed expiration dates on all the problems they will ever deal with. Jesus has provided an escape route to all those who put their trust in Him. Yes, as a child of God you will go through problems but God will be by your side to walk you through them, so that they do not overwhelm you; so that they do not prevent you from reaching your destiny (Isaiah 43:1-2). Surely there is an End presents God’s heart concerning you in times of trouble. It points you to God’s incomparable promises for your life. I pray it will empower you to face troubles with a champion attitude knowing that in Christ Jesus, you are “more than a conqueror” (Romans 8:37)

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pain With a Purpose takes a look at what pain is, what it does, and how it effects our lives. Often times as believers we are made to feel like we should not have to endure any pain, but not true. The more anointed you are, the more you will be tried. The more gifted you are, the more you will be tested. This book brings a sense of reality to your pain in order to find meaning. Part of understanding your pain is acknowledging it and accepting the process that comes with it. This book is intended to highlight that. Often times your perspective of pain can hinder you from seeing the bigger picture-- that there is a purpose in this somewhere. The process is intended to help someone else. There will always be challenges in life. How you face those challenges sets the tone for how you maneuver through life. This book is written specifically to anyone who has ever experienced pain and did not understand why or was not sure of how to move forward. Understanding the process can help you move from hurting to healing to wholeness. This book is written to offer insight. This is written to offer hope.

Book Quiet Time Poems

    Book Details:
  • Author : David Edwin Hall
  • Publisher : Author House
  • Release : 2014-11-06
  • ISBN : 149695095X
  • Pages : 1007 pages

Download or read book Quiet Time Poems written by David Edwin Hall and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014-11-06 with total page 1007 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every day, there are treasures to be discovered by anyone who will honestly come to hear the voice of the Savior in his Word. The Lord Jesus indicates that there is an added blessing for those who will write down the insights he gives by his instruction: ?Every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old? (Matthew 13:52). The poems in this book are the result of going to the Bible each day with an expectation that God has something very valuable to say. That expectation has NEVER been disappointed. Our risen Lord said, ?I stand at the door and knock. If any man hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with Me? (Revelation 3:20). This intimate, two-way communion with God is offered to all those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:12) and thereby ?have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God? (1 Corinthians 2:12). My prayer is that God may use this book for his glory, for the encouragement of his own children, and for the persuasion of those who may yet be awakened to their need of our Savior. ?Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting at the post of My doors? (Proverbs 8:34). Heaven is waiting. Don't miss it for the world.

Series: International Theological Commentary The book of Ruth, set in the period of the judges, is a beautiful story of the love, covenant loyalty, and daring initiative of two impoverished widows. Together with a generous open-hearted man, they demonstrate the truth of Proverbs 23:18 that applies to individuals, families, communities, and nations: "Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off." In this excellent commentary E. John Hamlin approaches the book of Ruth as literature, as history, as part of the canon, and as truth-telling story.

  • Publisher : Cambridge University Press
  • Release : 2012-04-19
  • ISBN : 1107379490

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is extensive discussion in current Just War literature about the normative principles which should govern the initiation of war (jus ad bellum) and also the conduct of war (jus in bello), but this is the first book to treat the important and difficult issue of justice after the end of war. Larry May examines the normative principles which should govern post-war practices such as reparations, restitution, reconciliation, retribution, rebuilding, proportionality and the Responsibility to Protect. He discusses the emerging international law literature on transitional justice and the problem of moving from a position of war and possible mass atrocity to a position of peace and reconciliation. He questions the Just War tradition, arguing that contingent pacifism is most in keeping with normative principles after war ends. His discussion is richly illustrated with contemporary examples and will be of interest to students of political and legal philosophy, law and military studies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a close and comprehensive study of the main themes of Aristotle's ethics. Sarah Broadie concentrates on what he has to teach about happiness, virtue, voluntary agency, practical reason, incontinence, pleasure, and the place of theoria in the best life. Never forgetting that ethics for Aristotle is above all a practical enterprise, she sheds new light on ways in which this practical orientation affects both content and method of his inquiry. The book culminates in a sustained argument showing how even Aristotle's ideal of theoretic contemplation in integral to his essentially practical vision of human nature. Ethics with Aristotle is a major contribution toward the further understanding of Aristotle's ethics.
