This book was released on 2022-03-26T22:59:00Z with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 After the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed a commission to investigate the incident. The report stated that Washington officials had performed their duties impeccably, and that the blame lay with the commanders in Hawaii: Admiral Husband Kimmel and General Walter C. Short. #2 The American people reacted with rage when Kimmel and Short were found guilty by the Roberts Commission. However, the truth was kept confidential. In 1982, books were published that revealed the truth about Washington’s foreknowledge of the attack. #3 The Roosevelt administration received several warnings regarding Pearl Harbor in 1941. The first was from the American ambassador to Japan, Joseph Grew, who reported that the Japanese were planning to attack Pearl Harbor before Christmas. #4 The 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor was depicted in the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor, starring Ben Affleck. The movie portrayed Washington as completely surprised by the attack. However, new evidence has surfaced showing that Washington was not only deciphering Japanese diplomatic messages, but naval dispatches as well.

Book excerpt: Drawing on statements of numerous scholars from around the world-virologists, epidemiologists, immunologists, pathologists, microbiologists, infectious disease specialists, including Nobel Prize winners, as well as front-line ER physicians and family practice MDs-veteran journalist James Perloff asks hard questions about the global response to COVID-19. -Are the virus's health risks greater than those posed by the lockdowns? -What does the science say about masks and social distancing? -Why were no lockdowns imposed for previous pandemics of comparable magnitude? -How accurate are the death numbers attributed to COVID-19? -Is the virus completely natural, or could bio-engineering have played a role? -Should the world's population take a COVID vaccine developed at "warp speed"? -Why is Bill Gates formulating health policy, even though he has no medical credentials? -How might a "second wave" be different? -Is the COVID crisis being exploited to push us into an Orwellian future of mass surveillance, digital IDs and cashless transactions? Perloff draws from mainstream publications and official government sources such as the CDC, as well as independent researchers whose work is increasingly hard to find online due to censorship by tech giants like FaceBook, Google and YouTube. Book excerpt: There is powerful scientific evidence against Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. And the implications are momentous, because ever since publication of The Origin of Species in 1859, evolution has been contesting man's traditional ideas about the meaning of life. Now, however, it's Darwin who's on the retreat, as facts from diverse branches of science challenge the theory's validity. Book jacket.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: N. Katherine Hayles is known for breaking new ground at the intersection of the sciences and the humanities. In Unthought, she once again bridges disciplines by revealing how we think without thinking—how we use cognitive processes that are inaccessible to consciousness yet necessary for it to function. Marshalling fresh insights from neuroscience, cognitive science, cognitive biology, and literature, Hayles expands our understanding of cognition and demonstrates that it involves more than consciousness alone. Cognition, as Hayles defines it, is applicable not only to nonconscious processes in humans but to all forms of life, including unicellular organisms and plants. Startlingly, she also shows that cognition operates in the sophisticated information-processing abilities of technical systems: when humans and cognitive technical systems interact, they form “cognitive assemblages”—as found in urban traffic control, drones, and the trading algorithms of finance capital, for instance—and these assemblages are transforming life on earth. The result is what Hayles calls a “planetary cognitive ecology,” which includes both human and technical actors and which poses urgent questions to humanists and social scientists alike. At a time when scientific and technological advances are bringing far-reaching aspects of cognition into the public eye, Unthought reflects deeply on our contemporary situation and moves us toward a more sustainable and flourishing environment for all beings.

Book Tornado in a Junkyard

Download or read book Tornado in a Junkyard written by James Perloff and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In an easy-to-read text, this book examines the growing scientific evidence that is challenging Darwin's theory of evolution: lack of transitional forms in the fossil record; the impossibility of mutations (almost universally destructive) serving as evolutionary building blocks; the flawed logic of natural selection theory; the stunning lack of evidence for ape-men; the mathematic impossibility of life beginning by itself; and much more. Also explores the damaging effect societal impact of Darwinism, and examines how Inherit the Wind grossly misled Americans about the Scopes trial. Addresses the ever-vital question: Are we here by chance or are we created by God? Indexed, over 80 illustrations, hundreds of quotes from scientists.ENDORSEMENTSDR. DUANE T. GISH, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, INSTITUTE FOR CREATION RESEARCH: "Tornado in a Junkyard by James Perloff should be in the library of every one who is interested in the subject of origins. This book is a powerful argument for creation because it is thorough, fully documented, and scientifically accurate. It is easily readable by scientist and layman alike, and is written in a popular style that will make it interesting and entertaining for readers of all ages. I highly recommend this book."PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY, 8-30-99: "James Perloff's intriguing Tornado in a Junkyard aims to debunk evolutionary theory in favor of creationism. Perloff, a former contributing editor to the New American, draws upon the work of neo-Darwinists and geneticists to argue that 'while microevolution does occur--meaning minor adaptations and variations within a species, ' there is no solid evidence for macroevolution, or conversion of one animal type into another."DR. EMMETT L. WILLIAMS, PRESIDENT, CREATION RESEARCH SOCIETY: "Tornado in a Junkyard is a unique presentation of the scientific case against Darwinism, informally written for laymen. If you are looking for a user-friendly explanation of the facts supporting creation, this book is for you."CONSERVATIVE BOOK CLUB, 12-99: "James Perloff brings all the data together in a volume readily accessible to nonscientific types. His conclusion, carefully drawn: science contradicts Darwinism. . . . Perloff's style, unusually lively, makes Tornado in a Junkyard entertaining as well as educational."ACTOR JACK LEMMON, WHO PLAYED CLARENCE DARROW IN THE 1999 FILM VERSION OF INHERIT THE WIND: "My congratulations to Mr. Perloff for an outstanding piece of work."HOMESCHOOLING TODAY, JAN/FEB-2000: "Why another 'anti-evolution' book? Because Tornado in a Junkyard is different. Author James Perloff, a former fanatical atheist and anti-creationist, understands the other side's point of view. He presents facts that logically disprove Darwinism and unveils the many frauds and lies perpetrated by Darwinists that the public accepts as unshakeable scientific fact."ELLEN MYERS, CREATION RESOURCE LIBRARY, WICHITA, KANSAS: "I've been heavily involved in the creationist movement for many years and am familiar with most of the facts cited in Tornado. However, the racy style, the many excellent photos, and especially the less known details and extensive documentation will now make Tornado my resource of choice in my work."THE NEW AMERICAN, 9-13-99: "Perloff demonstrates--in this reviewer's opinion conclusively--that scientific evidence, when examined honestly, does not support modern Darwinism, but actually contradicts it. . . . This is a very important work, written in an informal and attractive style that is a joy to read."VICKI BRADY, HOST, "HOMESCHOOLING USA": "With so many books out on the evolution/creation debate it is getting hard to choose from good, better and best. James' book falls in the best category. I recommend that every homeschool family and church have a copy for their libraries."CHRISTIAN NEWS, 9-27-99: "Christian News highly recommends Tornado in a Junkyard.

Book Shadows Of Power

Download or read book Shadows Of Power written by Lucas Nguyen and published by Publifye AS. This book was released on 2024-10-25 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ""Shadows of Power"" offers a compelling examination of how leadership corruption takes root and flourishes within organizational structures, focusing on the intricate interplay between institutional systems, psychological factors, and power dynamics. The book uniquely combines insights from organizational psychology, political science, and management studies to reveal the predictable patterns that transform promising leaders into compromised powerbrokers. Through three comprehensive sections, the book first explores how organizational hierarchies inadvertently create environments conducive to ethical compromises. It then delves into the psychological journey of leader corruption, supported by longitudinal studies that track changes in executive decision-making patterns over time. The final section provides practical solutions for institutional reform, including frameworks for designing effective accountability systems and maintaining ethical organizational cultures. What sets this work apart is its systematic approach to analyzing leadership decline across multiple sectors, incorporating both quantitative analysis and qualitative case studies from government, corporate, and non-profit organizations. Rather than simply presenting isolated examples, the book identifies universal patterns and structural indicators that can help organizations recognize and prevent leadership corruption before it takes hold. For professionals and scholars alike, it offers practical tools and evidence-based strategies for building more resilient and ethically sound leadership structures.

Book The 2001 Anthrax Deception

Download or read book The 2001 Anthrax Deception written by Graeme MacQueen and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2015-09-19 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2001 anthrax letter attacks in the United States killed five people and wounded dozens. They were widely blamed on extremist Muslims and their backers and used to support the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. They were also used to justify and hasten the passage of the USA PATRIOT Act, which was being presented to Congress just as the first anthrax victim grew ill. In October 2001, one of the hypotheses that gained ground was that of the Double Perpetrator, the claim that al-Qaeda was carrying out the attacks with the support of Iraq. Much evidence was put forth to support this Double Perpetrator hypothesis but independent scientists soon discovered that the anthrax spores came from a domestic lab in the US serving the military and intelligence communities, not from al-Qaeda or Iraq. The FBI then quickly claimed that an individual was responsible for the attacks and began noisily looking for this “lone wolf.” In 2008 the Bureau named Dr. Bruce Ivins of the US Army Medical Institute of Infectious Disease as the “anthrax killer.” Although the FBI remains committed to the Ivins hypothesis, the case has been disintegrating for the last three years. Currently, it is justly held in contempt not merely by scientists who worked with Ivins but by many journalists as well as several US senators. But this raises the question: if Ivins did not commit this crime, who did? This book presents evidence to support the following points: (a) The anthrax attacks were carried out by a group of perpetrators, not by a “lone wolf.” The attacks were, therefore, the result of a conspiracy— by definition a plan by two or more people, made in secret and resulting in an immoral or illegal act. (b) The group that carried out this crime consisted, in whole or in part, of insiders deep within the US state apparatus. (c) These insiders were the same people who planned the 9/11 attacks (d) The anthrax attacks were meant to facilitate a seizure of power by the executive branch of government through intimidation of Congress and US civil society. They were also designed to achieve public acquiescence to and support for the redefinition of US foreign policy, replacing the Cold War with a new and aggressive global conflict framework, the Global War on Terror.

Book Straight from the Horse s Mouth

Download or read book Straight from the Horse s Mouth written by Meryem Alaoui and published by Other Press, LLC. This book was released on 2020-09-15 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Named a Best Book of the Year by the Los Angeles Public Library This hilarious, colorful portrait of a sex worker navigating life in modern Morocco introduces a promising new literary voice. Thirty-four-year-old prostitute Jmiaa reflects on the bustling world around her with a brutal honesty, but also a quick wit that cuts through the drudgery. Like many of the women in her working-class Casablanca neighborhood, Jmiaa struggles to earn enough money to support herself and her family—often including the deadbeat husband who walked out on her and their young daughter. While she doesn’t despair about her profession like her roommate, Halima, who reads the Quran between clients, she still has to maintain a delicate balance between her reality and the “respectable” one she paints for her own more conservative mother. This daily grind is interrupted by the arrival of an aspiring young director, Chadlia, whom Jmiaa takes to calling “Horse Mouth.” Chadlia enlists Jmiaa’s help on a film project, initially just to make sure the plot and dialogue are authentic. But when she’s unable to find an actress who’s right for the starring role, she turns again to Jmiaa, giving the latter an incredible opportunity for a better life. In her breakout debut novel, Meryem Alaoui creates a vibrant picture of the day-to-day challenges faced by working people in Casablanca, which they meet head-on with resourcefulness and resilience.
