Download or read book Martin Luther s Theology written by Bernhard Lohse and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 1999-01-01 with total page 457 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This definitive analysis of the theology of Martin Luther surveys its development during the crises of Luther's life, then offers a systematic survey by topics. Containing a wealth of quotations from less-known writings by Luther and written in a way that will interest both scholar and novice, Lohse's magisterial volume is the first to evaluate Luther's theology in both ways. Lohse's historical analysis takes up Luther's early exegetical works and then his debates with traditions important to him in the context of the various controversies leading up to his dispute with the Antinomians. The systematic treatment shows how the meaning of ancient Christian doctrines took their place within the central teaching of justification by faith.

Download or read book Biblia Satanae written by Lcf Ns and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-11 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of unholy scriptures consists of texts that are direct contradictions of Judeo-Christian religious writings written in antiquity by anonymous authors. The scriptures contained in this book form a blasphemous philosophy that is the opposite of the anti-human philosophy preached by the followers of the desert god of antiquity and his self-proclaimed son. Included are scriptures that are a kind of negation of the old covenant, blasphemy against the new covenant, and dark, blasphemous anti-prophetic writings. They form a single, coherent whole - a unique anti-bible. The book consists of six parts: I - Genesis Secundum Serpentem; II - Pseudoevangelium Secundum Luciferi; III - Epistle to the Undead; IV - Profanum Evangelium Secundum Diaboli; V - Epistle to the Damned; VI - Pseudoapocalypsis

Download or read book Martin Bucer Briefwechsel Correspondance Band X Juli 1533 Dezember 1533 written by Berndt Hamm and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2016-03-11 with total page 701 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Heavenly Providence written by Suk Yu Chan and published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. This book was released on 2022-08-08 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suk Yu Chan provides a revisit of John Calvin's interpretation of the doctrine of divine providence and builds upon a vast repository of quality research conducted by previous Reformation scholars. The author adopts a historical approach to explore Calvin's works from 1534–1559, and argues that from 1534–1541, Calvin used the image of the fountain to portray God as the source of everything, who has power to preserve and give life to all creatures on earth. Between the Latin edition of the Institutes in 1539 and the French translation of that work in 1541, Calvin was indecisive about the definition of special providence, articulating a fitful relationship between providence and soteriology in these two texts. In 1552, Calvin gradually ceased using the image of the fountain to portray God as the source of everything, and he also delivered three definitions of divine providence: general providence, special providence, and the very presence of God. Based on the theological understanding of divine providence which he had developed from 1534–1552, Calvin presented his exegesis on the Book of Job and the Book of Psalms through his sermons and commentaries. Furthermore, Calvin also discussed the importance of the human role in God's providence. While Calvin's theological understanding of God's providence was inherited by his successor, Theodore Beza, Beza applied it differently in his exegesis on the Book of Job. From 1534–1559, Calvin formulated his biblical doctrine of divine providence, articulating that divine providence is heavenly providence which is comprised of eternal predestination and divine preservation.

Download or read book Inquisitionis Hispanicae Artes The Arts of the Spanish Inquisition Reginaldus Gonsalvius Montanus written by Marcos J. Herráiz Pareja and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2018-07-10 with total page 525 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Inquisitionis Hispanicae Artes (Heidelberg, 1567), written by exiled Spanish Protestants, is the first systematic denunciation of the Spanish Inquisition. Its first part is a description of the Inquisition’s methods, making use of the Inquisition’s own instruction manual, which was not publicly known. Its second section presents a gallery of individuals who suffered persecution in Seville during the anti-Protestant repression (1557-1565). The book had a great impact, being almost immediately translated into English, French, Dutch, German, and Hungarian. The portraits very soon passed into Protestant martyrologies, and the most shocking descriptions (torture, auto de fe) became ammunition for anti-Spanish literature. This critical edition presents a new text as well as, for the first time, extensive notes.
