Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Prebiotic chemistry and the origin of life

Download or read book Prebiotic chemistry and the origin of life written by Giovanni Occhipinti and published by Youcanprint. This book was released on 2024-01-15 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born from twenty-five years of experimental research and a decade of bibliographic studies, this publication delves into the fascinating theory of life's abiotic origins. It begins with simple amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, revealing how these compounds, present from the prebiotic era and discovered in ancient meteorites, may have been pivotal in life's evolutionary journey. Focusing particularly on amino acids' chirality—that is, their existence in mirror-image right and left forms—the author probes the critical enigma of their separation and why the left (L) form dominates in all known living beings. The book sparks a compelling discussion about how this bifurcation might have occurred at life's very inception and the ultimate fate of the right form. The text further extends its reach, proposing theories on the genetic code's origins, the selection of the 20 natural amino acids from many known, and a physical theory of consciousness in bacteria. "Prebiotic Chemistry and the Origin of Life" is more than a trek through the complexities of chemistry and molecular biology; it's an enthralling journey into some of life's most profound existential questions.

Book Immunized Plants

Download or read book Immunized Plants written by Ruggero Osler and published by Celid. This book was released on 2023-03-16 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cultivated plants, despite scientific progress, are paradoxically becoming more fragile and more at risk of disease than in the past: testifying to the endless waves of epidemics that are hitting our countryside and vineyards. Owing to commonly used agronomic techniques we are undermining biodiversity and the natural resilience of our crops. To confront costly and dangerous diseases, like epidemics, bold and innovative protection strategies are needed. Instead of combatting the pathogen and the vector head on, this book focuses on the plant host and the real possibility of reinforcing that host through a process of induced resistance. All plants, grapevines included, like animals, learn from their “experiences” and are able to become immunized: after infection, they can become resistant to diseases and other stress factors. This volume proposes the use of plants that are naturally immunized, those that have passed the gauntlet of Darwinian natural selection and have demonstrated stable and transmissible tolerances and resistances.

Book La biodiversit percorsi naturalistici e didattici

Download or read book La biodiversit percorsi naturalistici e didattici written by Adriano Sofo and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-12-03 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book New Approaches to Teaching Italian Language and Culture

Download or read book New Approaches to Teaching Italian Language and Culture written by Emanuele Occhipinti and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2008-12-11 with total page 595 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New Approaches to Teaching Italian Language and Culture fills a major gap in existing scholarship and textbooks devoted to the teaching of Italian language and culture. A much-needed project in Italianistica, this collection of essays offers case studies that provide a coherent and organized overview of contemporary Italian pedagogy, incorporating the expertise of scholars in the field of language methodology and language acquisition from Italy and four major countries where the study of Italian has a long tradition: Australia, Canada, Great Britain and the United States. The twenty four essays, divided into six main parts, offer a tremendous variety of up-to-date approaches to the teaching of Italian as a foreign language and L2, ranging from theoretical to more practical, hands-on strategies with essays on curricular innovations, technology, study abroad programs, culture, film and song use as effective pedagogical tools. Each case study introduces a systematic approach with an overview of theory, activities and assessment suggestions, collection of research data and syllabi. The book addresses the needs of instructors and teacher trainers, putting in perspective different examples that can be used for more effective teaching techniques according to the ACTFL guidelines and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Book The Custodians of Biodiversity

Download or read book The Custodians of Biodiversity written by Pablo Balbontín Arenas and published by Fao Inter-Departmental Working Group. This book was released on 2003 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agricultural biodiversity is a precious legacy which we have a moral duty to pass on intact to future generations. As farming systems modernise, these crucial resources risk being lost, unless effective conservation measures are put in place and sufficient recognition is given to the role of the farmer in food security and agricultural development. This publication contains a number of black and white photographs by Pablo Balbontân Arenas, which give an insight into the life and customs of small farmers who foster, maintain and use genetic diversity in traditional agricultural systems, deploying local techniques and knowledge accumulated over many centuries, focusing on four crops: wheat, rice, maize and potato. The accompanying text is written in English, Spanish and Italian.

Book Qual La Vera Origine Della Vita

Download or read book Qual La Vera Origine Della Vita written by Sergio Felleti and published by . This book was released on 2021-06-12 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Tutela della biodiversit locale come risposta ai problemi globali written by Adriano Sofo and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-11-20 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
