Download or read book When Fear Falls Away written by Jan Frazier and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 2007-05-01 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Jan Frazier shows us the anatomy of epiphany and reminds us of the ever-present possibility of healing and freedom and grace.” —Rachel Naomi Remen, MD, New York Times–bestselling author of Kitchen Table Wisdom In August 2003, virtually overnight, Jan Frazier experienced “a dramatic falling away of fear”—not just the immediate fear of her annual medical test but, as she learned as time went on, her fear of everything. She was “flooded with a causeless joy that has never left me.” In this book, the commonplace belief that enlightenment is only for saints comes apart at the seams. Anyone can be enlightened, and all we need to do is ask. This rare and beautiful account puts Jan Frazier solidly in the tradition of enlightened teachers from J. Krishnamurti to Byron Katie. Guns and money aren’t going to buy peace of mind. Giving up fear is. “A breathing translation into language of an advance in evolution that is available to the focused heart and the fortunate intention.” —Stephen Levine, bestselling author of Unattended Sorrow: Recovering from Loss and Reviving the Heart “Read this delicious, liberating, radical book.” —Jack Kornfield, bestselling author of No Time Like the Present “If you have ever wondered of a life filled with freedom and free of fear was possible, then this is the book for you. Jan Frazier shares her personal journey with a level of intimacy normally saved for one’s closest confidantes. The result is a book that serves as a beacon for anyone who is ready to experience joy on every level.”—Shelly Rachanow, author of If Women Ran the World, Sh*t Would Get Done

Download or read book Turning To Into For written by Calvin Sims and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-06-28 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has never been a motivational book like Turning To into For. Based on the author's philosophy that the most important of life's lessons are preceded by a test, the book is composed of two parts: the test and the lesson. The test: the autobiographical first part is the riveting story of a boy who was abandoned as a toddler and left to grow up in an abusive foster home where he was abused, molested, and encouraged to steal until at age nine, when he was given a gun and taken under the wings of the neighborhood gang leader. The lesson: the second part will empower the reader as the author shares the life's lessons, born of unimaginable pain and suffering, which enabled him to, with only a ninth grade education, become an international computer consultant. Inspired to teach the principles that enabled him to escape becoming a tragic statistic, he abandoned a very lucrative career, founded a nonprofit organization, and became an internationally renowned educator, recognized, among other honors, by the George W. Bush White House for his work with at-risk and underprivileged populations. The power of these lessons was called on once again when in 2014 cancer struck. Through treatment and faith, the cancer was eradicated, but the author was left paralyzed from the waist down. The amazing result of what could have ended in tragedy was the reemergence of one of America's most dynamic motivational speakers. Turning To Into For will inspire you, empower you, and teach you the principles of what the author has demonstrated, by way of his remarkable life, that which will help you to overcome the obstacles that cause so many of us to fail. The concepts and strategies in this work will strengthen you and help you to develop a powerful, relentless mental attitude that refuses to accept defeat. "I never lose. I either win or learn, but I never ever lose."

Download or read book A Way of Seeing written by Edith Schaeffer and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2014-09-23 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Way of Seeing invites the reader to open up his or her own way of looking at life, thereby gaining new perspectives and spiritual refreshment. It is a stimulating collection of sixty short essays by a talented woman--one who shared her perceptions of Christian family life in the successful book, What Is a Family? In this book, Edith Schaeffer views the world around her--the experiences of everyday life--pondering their meaning and the lessons to be learned. A Way of Seeing is a kaleidoscope of personal responses to current events, history, God's way, nature's wonders, and humankind's shortcomings. In these miniscule glimpses of daily life, the author considers such basic human concepts as trust, faith, security, death, fear, and love. At all times, "the rich threads from God's Word" are woven into Schaeffer's observations. Here readers will find a challenge to examine their own thoughts and become a "doer" by putting Christ's teachings into daily living. These essays were first written for the magazine Christianity Today. Enthusiastic response from readers prompted Edith Schaeffer to offer her "mental and spiritual food'' in book form. Although short enough to be read during relaxing breaks in the busy daily routine, in each essay readers will gain "a feeling of refreshment and a new train of thought" from an author of broad experience and Christian insight.

Download or read book Sudden Terror written by Larry Crompton and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on the actual case of the East Area Rapist, later also known as the Original Night Stalker, a masked man who terrorized California communities for ten years; 1976 through 1986, and possibly to this day. Because I was not involved in the initial rape investigations, they are written from hundreds of reports, notes, memos, newspaper clippings, conversations and interviews with those who were involved. The crimes are factual. The crimes are real. While all characters and events have direct counterparts in the telling of the story, I have created some dialogue in the interest of readability. The cops in the initial rapes are not factual, their actions are. Their names and descriptions are completely fictitious. The names of the victims, witnesses and suspects are fictitious; the terror, the dialogue during the crimes, and the investigations are real. The cops involved in the cases after I was involved are real, their names and dialogue is factual, the investigations are real. The pain and terror may have diminished in the minds of the victims, I hope that the pain does not return. My intent is to tell the story without endangering the privacy or the dignity of the victims. They have suffered enough.
