Book excerpt: If someone were to approach me and ask, "Pastor, what is the most important thing the church is lacking today"? My response to the question would be "Maturity." Oftentimes when faced with a problem, as individuals or as a church, we respond ineffectively or inappropriately because we have not properly transitioned through the steps of maturity as set forth in the Scriptures to where we respond as spiritual adults rather than immature children. A child responds according to his or her personal wants and needs, whereas a mature adult responds from the perspective of the needs of other people. So, until we have properly transitioned through the steps of maturity, until we have moved from a place where we view situations only from a selfish perspective to where we view them from an unselfish one, focusing on the needs of other people, we are incapable of responding to other people as God would have us to respond. In the Scriptures, God sets forth four basic steps to maturity: 1) Childhood, 2) Sonship, 3) Husbandship, and 4) Fatherhood.

Natural Maturity is often fully understood but Spiritual Maturity is often forgotten about or highly misunderstood. We understand natural progression. For example, when we are born we understand that there is a natural evolution that should take place as we grow up, so shall it be spiritually. In this book, I will discuss in great detail the process of spiritual maturity. I will go over the four stages of spiritual maturity which are: extraction, wilderness, identity and the production stage. I will also discuss the vital keys that lead to success in each stage as well as things you will have to war against and conquer in order for you to make it to the next stage of maturity. In addition, I will use Moses as an example as he too experienced all four stages of maturity in his walk with God and is a great role model to learn from as we walk and grow in Christ

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Success and the Christian is a compilation of A.W. Tozer sermons on the subject matter of spiritual maturity—both its cost and criteria for the believer. The overall purpose of this collection is to "promote the personal heart religion"' among God's people, something Tozer consistently emphasized. Knowing God deeply and intimately brings purpose and meaning to life and should be the Christian's highest goal. So what holds us back from authentic spiritual success? A.W. Tozer contends that it is the excess baggage that most Christians carry that prevents them from going further with God. Book IT Success

    Book Details:
  • Author : Michael Gentle
  • Publisher : John Wiley & Sons
  • Release : 2007-10-29
  • ISBN : 0470724013
  • Pages : 194 pages

Download or read book IT Success written by Michael Gentle and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-10-29 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Fifty years after the birth of corporate computing, IT today is still characterized by 50-70% project failure rates. Which is pretty scary when you come to think of it: either a goblin has cast a spell on a whole profession – or that profession is doing something fundamentally wrong”. IT Success! challenges the widespread assumption that an IT department is like a building contractor whose project managers, architects and engineers (all construction industry terms…) are supposed to deliver systems on schedule, within budget and to spec. Michael Gentle explains why this is not possible, and turns conventional wisdom on its head by showing that: you cannot define an IT project in terms of contractual budgets and schedules anything can change during the life of a project what is eventually delivered can never be what is actually needed He proposes a new model for IT in which the traditional client/vendor relationship, with its contractual commitments, is replaced by a shared risk/reward partnership geared towards workable results over time. Using real-world examples and a case study, the author walks you through the end-to-end processes of an IT department, covering subjects like demand management, investment planning, agile development and managing production applications.

Book Aiming at Maturity

Download or read book Aiming at Maturity written by Stephen W. Rankin and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-11-11 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It seems that much of American Christianity has lost sight of the goal of growing to maturity in Christ. This loss of vision has had serious consequences for the quality of our witness and ministry. In Aiming at Maturity, Steven W. Rankin seeks to bring back into focus key qualities of spiritual maturity and summarizes important biblical passages to show the scriptural foundations that call for spiritual maturity. Rankin also addresses certain tendencies in popular Christian culture to reduce doctrinal truths to sound bites with the laudable but counterproductive goal to make doctrine memorable, therefore applicable. Thinking more expansively about certain key doctrines related to the work of Christ and the impact of grace contributes to growth toward maturity in a way that popular descriptions of these doctrines do not. Finally, Rankin also challenges readers to consider the important role of emotions in developing Christlike dispositions, which contribute toward producing the fruit of a mature Christian life. By looking at relevant modern research, Aiming at Maturity shows the inherent connection between thoughts and feelings that draw us closer to the actual biblical description of the heart.
