Book excerpt: Success cannot be measured simply by the pursuit of wealth, position, and power without aligning such wealth with God's ordinance and doctrine. It's about making an impact that touches lives and leaving a worthy legacy for the next generation. In Success Dynamics, author Raymond Aisabor introduces a holistic approach and a doctrinal variant of what should be the pinnacle of real success. Aisabor provides answers to the questions: Is our quest toward success for self-aggrandizement, vain glorification, and oppression of the less fortunate? Or it is to glorify God in providing succor to the needy and less privileged? He explores success covenants, habits, conditions, and business and spiritual tools to help you be successful in your life, which means having a personal, intimate relationship with God and learning how to spread that love to others. Success Dynamics teaches that success is not just possessions. Success is about stewardship, general wellness, and walking in God's purpose.

Book Statism Youth and Civic Imagination

Download or read book Statism Youth and Civic Imagination written by Ebenezer Obadare and published by African Books Collective. This book was released on 2010 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study explores the service-citizenship nexus in Nigeria, using the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme as an empirical backdrop. It attempts to understand the relationship between civic service and citizenship on the one hand, and it examines the question as to whether youth service promotes a sense of citizenship and patriotism on the other. In the relevant studies on service and sociology, the assumption that service is antecedent to, and impacts positively on citizenship, is taken for granted. However, conclusions from this study call for an urgent rethinking of this wisdom. Using data from open-ended interviews, questionnaires and focus group discussions, the study traces the ways in which political dynamics in Nigeria have affected the implementation of the NYSC programme. The study articulates allegiance to national ideals as an essential foundation for creating and nurturing citizenship. Although it upholds the potential of national service as a tool for national integration, this research cautions against unalloyed faith in its presumed agency, arguing that the limitations imposed by the prevailing socio-political ecology should not be ignored.

Book Effective Leadership in Nigeria

Download or read book Effective Leadership in Nigeria written by Dr. Onyema G. Nkwocha and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-01-04 with total page 733 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Effective Leadership In Nigeria: Practical Ways To Build an Effective, Inspiring, Transformational and Visionary Leadership and Governance in Nigeria is mostly based on the current apathetic and virtual lack of effective and visionary leadership situation in contemporary Nigeria and distills the golden gems: - principles, processes, procedures and practical applications inherent in effective, inspiring, visionary and enthusiastic leadership. It attempts at instituting, building and encouraging good, effective, and visionary leadership in the nation and that is currently, virtually lacking. From the outset, the author makes it clear that this writing is not designed to model or fit any known leadership paradigm, theory or management style. Rather, based on relevant research on leadership as it impacts the Nigerian situation, the book attempts to explore what it takes for there to be an effective and good leadership to successfully lead and change Nigeria for the better. The book is written and organized in a way that reflects and captures the contemporary experiences, frustrations, psychological emotions, aspirations and hopes of every Nigerian and perhaps of promising politicians and future leaders who are honestly touched by the virtual vacuum of real and effective leadership in the country, their concerns, questions, dreams, and the expectations that have virtually gone unmet in the past more than half a century. Properly elucidating what leadership means, and differentiating it from rulership this book couldn't have come at a better time to assist Nigeria's leadership-struggles! A masterpiece, Dr. Nkwocha has taken the current apathetic leadership lull and almost leadership void in the nation and set the leadership principles and processes on the cutting edge. The book is a definitive guide to anyone aspiring to the leadership of Nigeria and is therefore in search of meaningful leadership, its principles, processes and pragmatic applications. The book is a must read!

Book Building and Evaluating Research Capacity in Healthcare Systems

Download or read book Building and Evaluating Research Capacity in Healthcare Systems written by Nancy Edwards and published by Juta and Company (Pty) Ltd. This book was released on 2016-07-20 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past decade, there have been many international calls to strengthen and support/sustain research capacity in lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This capacity is considered an essential foundation for cost-effective healthcare systems. While there have been long-standing investments by many countries and research funding organisations in the training of individuals for this purpose, in many LMICs research capacity remains fragmented, uneven and fragile. There is growing recognition that a more systems-oriented approach to research capacity-building is required. Nonetheless, there are considerable gaps in the evidence for approaches to capacity-building that are effective and sustainable. This book addresses these gaps, capturing what was learned from teams working on The Global Health Research Initiative. This book brings together the experiences of research capacity-building teams co-led by Canadians and LMIC researchers in several regions of the world, including China, Chile, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda.

Book Law Religion and Human Flourishing in Africa

Download or read book Law Religion and Human Flourishing in Africa written by M. Christian Green and published by AFRICAN SUN MeDIA. This book was released on 2019-05-15 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A shared interest of law and religion is the advancement of human flourishing, yet there is no common understanding of what it means for humans to flourish and the means by which to attain a flourishing life. The concept of human flourishing is especially important for Africa, where community and national development compete with forces of conflict and scarce resources. In the broadest sense, the concept of human flourishing focuses our attention on having a comprehensively good or worthwhile life, but various religious and legal traditions suggest different norms for measuring the quality of life and designing the institutional structures that could best facilitate and preserve it.
