Book Convective Boiling and Condensation

Download or read book Convective Boiling and Condensation written by John G. Collier and published by Clarendon Press. This book was released on 1994-05-19 with total page 646 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: * Third edition of a well-known and well established text both in industry and for teaching * Fully up-to-date and includes extra problems This book is an aid to heat exchanger design written primarily for design and development engineers in the chemical process, power generation, and refrigeration industries. It provides a comprehensive reference on two-phase flows, boiling, and condensation. The text covers all the latest advances like flows over tube bundles and two-phase heat transfer regarding refrigerants and petrochemicals. Another feature of this third edition is many new problems at chapter ends to enhance its use as a teaching text for graduate and post-graduate courses on two-phase flow and heat transfer. - ;This book is written for practising engineers as a comprehensive reference on two-phase flows, boiling, and condensation. It deals with methods for estimating two-phase flow pressure drops and heat transfer rates. It is a well-known reference book in its third edition and is also used as a text for advanced university courses. Both authors write from practical experience as both are professional engineers. -

Book Subcooled Forced Convection Boiling of Trichlorotrifluoroethane

Download or read book Subcooled Forced Convection Boiling of Trichlorotrifluoroethane written by R. S. Dougall and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Experimental heat-transfer data were obtained for the forced-convection boiling of trichlorotrifluoroethane (R-113 or Freon-113) in a vertical annular test annular test section. The 97 data points obtained covered heat transfer by forced convection, local boiling, and fully-developed boiling. Correlating methods were obtained which accurately predicted the heat flux as a function of wall superheat (boiling curve) over the range of parameters studied.

Book Heat Transfer from Rods Normal to Subcooled Water Flow for Non boiling and Surface boiling Conditions Up to and Including Burnout

Download or read book Heat Transfer from Rods Normal to Subcooled Water Flow for Non boiling and Surface boiling Conditions Up to and Including Burnout written by S. P. Kezios and published by . This book was released on 1958 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Forced-convection heat transfer from an electrically heated Chromax wire oriented normal to a subcooled water flow was experimentally investigated with and without change of phase. Experiments were carried out up to the limit of burnout, and photographic observations were also made. The variables employed in this study range were the velocity from 1 to 6.8 ft/sec, subcooling in the range 140 to B0 deg F, and heat flux density up to 3.5 x 10/sup 6/ Btu/hr ft/. Pressures at the test section ranged from 15 to 30 psia. The results and conclusions are discussed.

Book Convective Boiling and Condensation

Download or read book Convective Boiling and Condensation written by John Gordon Collier and published by McGraw-Hill International Book Company. This book was released on 1981 with total page 474 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On its original publication in 1973, this book was the first reference for engineers to fully present the science of boiling and condensation. It dealt especially with the problems of estimating heat transfer rates and pressure drops, with particular attention to the occurrence of boiling and condensation in the presence of forced flows within pipes. The new third edition was written primarily for design and development engineers in the chemical process, power generation, and refrigeration industries, and is meant to be an aid in the design of heat exchangers. It covers recent advances and significantly broadens coverage to flows over tube bundles, with extensive new treatment of two-phase heat transfer regarding refrigerants and petrochemicals. Many new problems have been added at the end of each chapter to enhance the book's use as a text in advanced courses on two-phase flow and heat transfer. Instructors using the book as a course text may obtain full solutions to the end-of-chapter problems by writing to: Science Marketing Dept., Oxford University Press, 198 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10016 (please include school name and course identification), or by faxing (212) 726-6442.
