Download or read book Texas TRANPLAN Applications Guide 1995 written by George B. Dresser and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TRANPLAN is a package of separate, distinct programs which perform travel demand analysis. TRANPLAN can be used to perform the traditional four-step transportation forecasting process: trip generation, trip distribution, mode choice, and traffic assignment. This guide is intended for use by the Texas Department of Transportation offices, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, municipalities, counties, and consultants contracted by public agencies in the state of Texas. The guide should be used in conjunction with the TRANPLAN reference manual and the Highway Network Information Systems (HNIS) reference manual. The information in this manual can be used to train new TRANPLAN users, refresh users who have been minimally exposed to TRANPLAN, and serve as a "template" to aid experienced users. This guide, however, is not intended to provide a comprehensive description of all the capabilities of the TRANPLAN software

Download or read book Texas Travel Forecasting Annotated Bibliography written by and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This bibliography is part of an on-going research project between the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The bibliography has attempted to include all significant reports prepared by the Institute in support of urban transportation travel demand modeling and forecasting practice in Texas. An annotation is provided for those reports which still may be of interest to practitioners. Several reports which are now obsolete due to improvements in computer technology are included for completeness and historical interest. In addition several reports prepared by TxDOT which bear directly on travel demand modeling practice are included. The Department reports are not complete and users of this bibliography are requested to provide the Institute with copies of Department reports not presently included so that they may be included in future revisions. The bibliography is organized into six sections: trip generation, trip distribution, traffic assignment, travel surveys, air quality analysis, and overview. Reports are placed in each section according to the phase of modeling covered by the report. However, since the modeling phases are interdependent, most reports will cover aspects of more than one phase. Reports which clearly cover more than one modeling phase are placed in the overview section.

Download or read book Statewide and Sub area Transportation Model Feasibility Study written by and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this research, a feasibility study to develop an Idaho statewide transportation model is conducted. Review of statewide transportation models from Florida, Wyoming, Michigan, Vermont, Indiana, and Pennsylvania is conducted to summarize the most appropriate procedure for developing a statewide model. On the local level, the transportation planning effort in Idaho is reviewed. This effort includes review of the metropolitan planning organization models as well as Idaho commodity flows, which will be the basis for the statewide model. A review of the transportation planning software packages is conducted to select the most appropriate package for statewide modeling. The research team recommends Transplan as the outweighing package for Idaho statewide modeling. A transportation model requires the input of a transportation network, traffic data and land use data. Therefore, the availability of existing digital databases is assessed. This study has constructed the foundation for developing the Idaho statewide travel demand model. On the basis of this feasibility study, ITD will implement phase two of this project, the development of the Idaho Statewide Transportation Model. The proposal for the model is represented in the final section of this report.
