Book Redesigning Marketing for Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinics in China

Download or read book Redesigning Marketing for Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinics in China written by Dahai Liu (Researcher in management) and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With China's ongoing development, Chinese people have more and higher standards for quality of life and are becoming increasingly concerned about their health. TCM also has a positive image among Chinese people and has received strong support from Chinese medical regulations, resulting in a rapid increase in the number of TCM clinics in China in recent years. As a result, TCM clinics have a lot of room for growth. However, for historical reasons, TCM clinics do not devote enough attention to marketing. TCM clinics are unable to meet the growing demand of Chinese customers for TCM due to a lack of awareness. With such a knowledge gap, TCM clinics' marketing initiatives are becoming increasingly vital. This study summarizes and categorizes TCM clinics and doctors in China to serve as a foundation for future marketing strategies and approaches. Furthermore, previous TCM clinic marketing focused solely on the consumer side and ignored the doctor side. As a result, this paper's marketing strategy and tactics will target both customers and doctors, as well as redesign existing TCM clinic marketing. To begin, this study examines the TCM clinics' business environment and marketing issues in China, concluding that TCM clinics primarily have unclear marketing strategies, simplistic marketing methods, and a lack of marketing organizations. Second, the marketing environment of TCM clinics is examined, with the conclusion that, in terms of political policy, economy, social environment, and technical means, China is presently friendly to the development of TCM clinics, providing fertile ground for marketing. Finally, TCM clinic marketing strategies and tactics are examined in order to identify key market categories and provide five marketing methods in terms of products, services, marketing channels, prices, and promotions. Embracing new technologies, comprehensively constructing digital TCM clinics, and improving accurate digital marketing to consumers and doctors are just a few ways. By revamping the marketing of TCM clinics in China, this study proposes an entire marketing strategy and strategies for TCM clinics. It improves the overall marketing level of TCM clinics, allowing them to run more efficiently. Furthermore, it provides consumers with improved TCM services as well as a better working environment and compensation for TCM doctors.

Book Marketing Strategy for a Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM Clinic in Vancouver

Download or read book Marketing Strategy for a Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM Clinic in Vancouver written by Qaiser Rashid Janjua and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) has gained worldwide acceptance in the recent past. Apart from all other modalities of CAM, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has gained enormous interest globally. TCM has become a mainstream medicine in several underdeveloped countries and is rapidly gaining recognition in developed countries such as in the U.S and especially Canada. British Columbia is the only jurisdiction in North America that officially recognizes TCM. Consequently, the local industry is not only experiencing remarkable growth but is facing serious challenges. This paper analyzes global and local trends in CAM and TCM, derives insights into consumer behaviour from a literature review and develops an effective marketing strategy for the TCM clinic in Vancouver. The paper concludes that in a saturated market it is possible to grow by employing a differentiated marketing strategy.

Book Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the United States

Download or read book Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the United States written by Institute of Medicine and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2005-04-13 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Integration of complementary and alternative medicine therapies (CAM) with conventional medicine is occurring in hospitals and physicians offices, health maintenance organizations (HMOs) are covering CAM therapies, insurance coverage for CAM is increasing, and integrative medicine centers and clinics are being established, many with close ties to medical schools and teaching hospitals. In determining what care to provide, the goal should be comprehensive care that uses the best scientific evidence available regarding benefits and harm, encourages a focus on healing, recognizes the importance of compassion and caring, emphasizes the centrality of relationship-based care, encourages patients to share in decision making about therapeutic options, and promotes choices in care that can include complementary therapies where appropriate. Numerous approaches to delivering integrative medicine have evolved. Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the United States identifies an urgent need for health systems research that focuses on identifying the elements of these models, the outcomes of care delivered in these models, and whether these models are cost-effective when compared to conventional practice settings. It outlines areas of research in convention and CAM therapies, ways of integrating these therapies, development of curriculum that provides further education to health professionals, and an amendment of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act to improve quality, accurate labeling, research into use of supplements, incentives for privately funded research into their efficacy, and consumer protection against all potential hazards.

Book WHO Guidelines on Good Agricultural and Collection Practices GACP for Medicinal Plants

This book was released on 2003-12-16 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Medicinal plant materials are supplied through collection from wild populations and cultivation. Under the overall context of quality assurance and control of herbal medicines WHO developed the Guidelines on good agricultural and collection practices (GACP) for medicinal plants providing general technical guidance on obtaining medicinal plant materials of good quality for the sustainable production of herbal products classified as medicines. These guidelines are also related to WHO's work on the protection of medicinal plants aiming promotion of sustainable use and cultivation of medicinal plants. The main objectives of these guidelines are to: (1) contribute to the quality assurance of medicinal plant materials used as the source for herbal medicines to improve the quality safety and efficacy of finished herbal products; (2) guide the formulation of national and/or regional GACP guidelines and GACP monographs for medicinal plants and related standard operating procedures; and (3) encourage and support the sustainable cultivation and collection of medicinal plants of good quality in ways that respect and support the conservation of medicinal plants and the environment in general. These guidelines concern the cultivation and collection of medicinal plants and include certain post-harvest operations. Good agricultural and collection practices for medicinal plants are the first step in quality assurance on which the safety and efficacy of herbal medicinal products directly depend. These practices also play an important role in protection natural resources of medicinal plants for sustainable use.

Download or read book Other Worldly written by Mei Zhan and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2009-11-09 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traditional Chinese medicine is often portrayed as an enduring system of therapeutic knowledge that has become globalized in recent decades. In Other-Worldly, Mei Zhan argues that the discourses and practices called “traditional Chinese medicine” are made through, rather than prior to, translocal encounters and entanglements. Zhan spent a decade following practitioners, teachers, and advocates of Chinese medicine through clinics, hospitals, schools, and grassroots organizations in Shanghai and the San Francisco Bay Area. Drawing on that ethnographic research, she demonstrates that the everyday practice of Chinese medicine is about much more than writing herbal prescriptions and inserting acupuncture needles. “Traditional Chinese medicine” is also made and remade through efforts to create a preventive medicine for the “proletariat world,” reinvent it for cosmopolitan middle-class aspirations, produce clinical “miracles,” translate knowledge and authority, and negotiate marketing strategies and medical ethics. Whether discussing the presentation of Chinese medicine at a health fair sponsored by a Silicon Valley corporation, or how the inclusion of a traditional Chinese medicine clinic authenticates the “California” appeal of an upscale residential neighborhood in Shanghai, Zhan emphasizes that unexpected encounters and interactions are not anomalies in the structure of Chinese medicine. Instead, they are constitutive of its irreducibly complex and open-ended worlds. Zhan proposes an ethnography of “worlding” as an analytic for engaging and illuminating emergent cultural processes such as those she describes. Rather than taking “cultural difference” as the starting point for anthropological inquiries, this analytic reveals how various terms of difference—for example, “traditional,” “Chinese,” and “medicine”—are invented, negotiated, and deployed translocally. Other-Worldly is a theoretically innovative and ethnographically rich account of the worlding of Chinese medicine.
