Book Study of Charged Particles Associated with High p

Download or read book Study of Charged Particles Associated with High p written by and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We report on the distributions of charged particles produced in association with high p/sub T/ prompt photons and neutral pions in pp collisions at .sqrt. s = 63 GeV and theta = 90° in the centre of mass. We find photons to be relatively unaccompained by other particles at small angles with respect to the photon, and thereby extract a measurement of the fraction of prompt photons due to bremsstrahlung production. The relative density of positive to negative particles in the system recoiling from the photon has been measured and compared with QCD motivated calculations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A charged particle is a particle that carries an electric charge and can be discussed in many aspects. This book focuses on cutting-edge and important research topics such as flavor physics to search for new physics via charged particles that appear in different extensions of the standard model, as well as the analysis of ultra-high energy muons using the pair-meter technique. Also included in this book are the idea of the Eloisatron to PeVatron, the important research field of electrostatic waves in magnetized electron/positron plasmas, and the application of charge bodies.

Book Classical Charged Particles

Download or read book Classical Charged Particles written by F. Rohrlich and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2007 with total page 323 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally written in 1964, this famous text is a study of the classical theory of charged particles. Many applications treat electrons as point particles. At the same time, there is a widespread belief that the theory of point particles is beset with various difficulties such as an infinite electrostatic self-energy, a rather doubtful equation of motion which admits physically meaningless solutions, violation of causality and others. The classical theory of charged particles has been largely ignored and has been left in an incomplete state since the discovery of quantum mechanics. Despite the great efforts of men such as Lorentz, Abraham, Poincar‚, and Dirac, it is usually regarded as a ?lost cause?. But thanks to progress made just a few years ago, the author is able to resolve the various problems and to complete this unfinished theory successfully.

Book Particle Physics Reference Library

Download or read book Particle Physics Reference Library written by Christian W. Fabjan and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020 with total page 1083 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This second open access volume of the handbook series deals with detectors, large experimental facilities and data handling, both for accelerator and non-accelerator based experiments. It also covers applications in medicine and life sciences. A joint CERN-Springer initiative, the "Particle Physics Reference Library" provides revised and updated contributions based on previously published material in the well-known Landolt-Boernstein series on particle physics, accelerators and detectors (volumes 21A, B1,B2,C), which took stock of the field approximately one decade ago. Central to this new initiative is publication under full open access

Book Plasma Physics In Active Wave Ionosphere Interaction

Download or read book Plasma Physics In Active Wave Ionosphere Interaction written by Spencer P Kuo and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2017-11-29 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One essential feature of plasma media is supporting various plasma waves and dictating electromagnetic wave propagation. This textbook provides students with an understanding of plasma waves, which is key to theoretical and experimental plasma research and understanding the experimental results, and will enable them to expand their studies into related areas. The first part of the text provides the basis of plasma modes, including the formulations, analyses and the physical characterizations. The second part introduces techniques for the studies of wave propagation in inhomogeneous plasma and of nonlinear mode-mode coupling in turbulent plasma as well as in active plasma, applied to exemplify the excitation of parametric instabilities in high-frequency (HF) wave heated ionospheric plasma. The third part introduces nonlinear plasma waves of periodic function forms and of solitary forms; a potential application of the HF wave-ionosphere interaction for setting up an ionospheric very-low-frequency transmitter for underwater communications is introduced. This is also a useful reference book for researchers in the areas of plasma physics and engineering, and in geophysics.

Download or read book Position Sensitive Gaseous Photomultipliers Research and Applications written by Francke, Tom and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2016-05-23 with total page 587 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gaseous photomultipliers are defined as gas-filled devices capable of recording single ultraviolet (UV) and visible photons with high position resolution. Used in a variety of research areas, these detectors can be paired with computers to treat and store imaging information of UV-light. Position-Sensitive Gaseous Photomultipliers: Research and Applications explores the advancement of gaseous detectors as applied for single photon detection. Emphasizing emerging perspectives and new ways to apply gaseous detectors across research fields, this research-based publication is an essential reference source for engineers, physicists, graduate-level students, and researchers.
