Book Root knot Nematodes

Download or read book Root knot Nematodes written by Roland N. Perry and published by CABI. This book was released on 2009 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Root-knot nematodes are the most economically important group of plant-parasitic nematodes worldwide, and their control presents a major global challenge. Advances are being made in understanding their biology, host-parasite interaction and management strategies. Covers the taxonomy, classification, morphology, life-cycle biology, genomes, resistance, sampling, detection, and management strategies of these pests.

Book Genomics and Molecular Genetics of Plant Nematode Interactions

Download or read book Genomics and Molecular Genetics of Plant Nematode Interactions written by John Jones and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-04-26 with total page 563 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book reviews developments in the molecular biology of plant-nematode interactions that have been driven by the application of genomics tools. The book will be of interest to postgraduate students and to researchers with an interest in plant nematology and/or plant pathology more generally. A series of introductory chapters provide a biological context for the detailed reviews of all areas of plant-nematode interactions that follow and ensure that the bulk of the book is accessible to the non-specialist. A final section aims to show how these fundamental studies have provided outputs of practical relevance.

Book The Plant Parasitic Nematode Genus Meloidogyne G ldi 1892 Tylenchida in Europe

Download or read book The Plant Parasitic Nematode Genus Meloidogyne G ldi 1892 Tylenchida in Europe written by Gerrit Karssen and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-08-04 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The genus Meloidogyne Göldi, 1892, or root-knot nematodes, represent a relatively small but economically important group of obligate plant pathogens. They are distributed worldwide and parasitize on almost every higher plant species. While reproducing and feeding within roots, they induce galls or root-knots and disorder the physiology of the infected plant, reducing crop yield and product quality. More than eighty nominal species have been described worldwide, while twenty species have been detected in Europe so far. This book includes a historical review on the genus, followed by a revision of the European species, and completed with a study on one of the most characteristic morphological structures within the genus: the perineal pattern.

Book Integrated Management and Biocontrol of Vegetable and Grain Crops Nematodes

Download or read book Integrated Management and Biocontrol of Vegetable and Grain Crops Nematodes written by A. Ciancio and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-12-08 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second volume of the IMPD series describes aspects related to the most important phytoparasitic nematodes, considering the integration of biological control methods with other management practices and technologies, including the use of predatory nematodes and microbial rhizosphere antagonists. A focus is given on regional issues. A review on nematode management in cotton is integrated by a chapter on management of nematodes on wheat. New technologies are also revised.

Book Studies of Dactylaria Brochopaga Against M Incognita on Tomato

Download or read book Studies of Dactylaria Brochopaga Against M Incognita on Tomato written by Harvansh Singh and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2014-07-15 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The nature and magnitude of important nematode-induced diseases of crop plants are described in this book. The need to manage these diseases to achieve profitable crop production is stressed. Nematodes are found all over the world, but the principles and methods employed in managing them are essentially the same, regardless of location. A primary focus is placed on the types of damage nematodes cause to economic crops and how that damage affects yield and quality. A second emphasis the management tactics currently available and explains them in relation to the biology of specific nematodes. Advantages and limitation for each method are discussed. Environmental conditions influencing the extent of damage are also considered. Focus on characterizing the root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.), infection control in nematodes trapping fungus (D. brochopaga), and my selected crops in tomato. In writing certain chapters in this book, this information available for future use.
