Book Organophosphorus Chemistry

Download or read book Organophosphorus Chemistry written by Viktor Iaroshenko and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-04-22 with total page 586 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Filling the gap for an up-to-date reference that presents the field of organophosphorus chemistry in a comprehensive and clearly structured way, this one-stop source covers the chemistry, properties, and applications from life science and medicine. Divided into two parts, the first presents the chemistry of various phosphorus-containing compounds and their synthesis, including ylides, acids, and heterocycles. The second part then goes on to look at applications in life science and bioorganic chemistry. Last but not least, such important practical aspects as 31P-NMR and protecting strategies for these compounds are presented. For organic, bioinorganic, and medicinal chemists, as well as those working on organometallics, and for materials scientists. The book, a contributed work, features a team of renowned scientists from around the world whose expertise spans the many aspects of modern organophosphorus chemistry.

Book Copper I Chemistry of Phosphines Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles

Download or read book Copper I Chemistry of Phosphines Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles written by Maravanji S. Balakrishna and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2019-04-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Copper(I) Complexes of Phosphines, Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles is a comprehensive guide to one of the most widely used and extensively studied metals: copper. The numerous practical applications of copper compounds are discussed, including homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis and their use as fungicides, pesticides, pigments for paints, resins and glasses, and in high-temperature superconductors. The remarkable structural flexibility of simple copper(I) complexes, such as cuprous halides is covered, including numerous structural motifs that, when combined with different ligand systems, exhibit linear, trigonal planar or tetrahedral geometries. This work is an essential reference for inorganic and coordination chemists, as well as researchers working on catalysis, anticancer reagents, luminescence, fluorescence and photophysical aspects.

Book Carbon 13 NMR

Download or read book Carbon 13 NMR written by Peter Hanisch and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This treatise describes a study of the conformation of nitrogen and phosphorus heterocyclic compounds using carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance methods. Isolation and assignment of the configuration of the three diasteroisomers of 1,3,5-trimethyl-4-phenylpiperidin-4- ol and the conformational effects in 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl substituted piperidine rings are described. In addition, the possibility of detecting boat (non-chair) conformations in 4-phenylpiperidin-4-ol derivatives is discussed. A carbon-13 nmr solvent study of the model system, 3-pi peridinol, was carried out to detect conformations where intramolecular hydrogen bonding interactions of the type -N--H-0- are possible. Several 3-tropinone derivatives were studied and evidence is presented for boat (non-chair) conformations where similar -N-C=0 and -N-H-0- interactions are implicated. Several representative six-membered ring phosphorus heterocycles were also studied in both the Pill and PIV oxidation states. Evidence is presented for the predominance of axial phenyl groups in several 1-phenylphosphorinanes. Additivity effects were derived for the phosphorus systems and comparisons made with analogous nitrogen heterocyclic parameters. The effect of the PIV oxidation state upon the chemical shifts in the aromatic ring of various phenyl phosphine oxides and the consequent valence bond structure of these oxides is reported. As a corollary, the chemical shifts of several dienones used as synthetic precursors in the above studies are reported and the effect of introducing a cross-conjugated double bond to the enone in acyclic and alicyclic systems is discussed.
