Book Intramolecular Charge Transfer

Download or read book Intramolecular Charge Transfer written by Ramprasad Misra and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-02-27 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bridging the gap between the multitude of advanced research articles and the knowledge newcomers to the field are looking for, this is a timely and comprehensive monograph covering the interdisciplinary topic of intramolecular charge transfer (ICT). The book not only covers the fundamentals and physico-chemical background of the ICT process, but also places a special emphasis on the latest experimental and theoretical studies that have been undertaken to understand this process and discusses key technological applications. After outlining the discovery of ICT molecules, the authors go on to discuss several important substance classes. They present the latest techniques for studying the underlying processes and show the interplay between charge transfer and the surrounding medium. Examples taken from nonlinear optics, viscosity and polarity sensors, and organic electronics testify to the vast range of applications. The result is a unique information source for experimentalists as well as theoreticians, from postgraduate students to researchers.

Book Semiconducting Polymers

Download or read book Semiconducting Polymers written by Christine Luscombe and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2016-10-12 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Semiconducting polymers are of great interest for applications in electroluminescent devices, solar cells, batteries and diodes. In recent years vast advances have been made in the area of controlled synthesis of semiconducting polymers, specifically polythiophenes. The book is separated into two main sections, the first will introduce the advances made in polymer synthesis, and the second will focus on the microstructure and property analysis that has been enabled because of the recent advances in synthetic strategies. Edited by one of the leaders in the area of polythiophene synthesis, this new book will bring the field up to date with more recent models for understanding semiconducting polymers. The book will be applicable to materials and polymers chemists in industry and academia from postgraduate level upwards.

Book Energy and Charge Transfer in Organic Semiconductors

Download or read book Energy and Charge Transfer in Organic Semiconductors written by Kohzoh Masuda and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Great progress has been made in the field of ordinary semiconductor physics and associated technologies. For the time being, if we could use new materials such as organic semiconductors progress in electronics could be accelerated. Characteristics of organic semiconductors that are superior to others are: i) high photo-conductivity under irradiation along with low leakage current in the dark, ii) high sensitivity of the conductivity to various gases and to pressure. iii) possibility of using them in the amorphous state, iv) possibility of making devices of extremely small size, v) large variety of the materials, which makes suitable choice of material component easy. A possible future development is a highly conductive material which could be used for electric power transmission - and which might help solve some of the problems posed by transmission losses. The U.S.-Japan Seminar on Energy and Charge Transfer in Organic Semiconductors was held in Osaka Japan, 6-9 August, 1973. Completed results were summarized and the direction for the future was discussed. Information was exchanged quite freely and actively in a pleasant atmosphere. Many of the papers presented at the seminar are published here but unfortunately a few could not be included. It would give us great pleasure if this seminar could be one step in the further development of the research in this field.

Book Charge transfer Complexes in Liquid and Solid States

Download or read book Charge transfer Complexes in Liquid and Solid States written by Abdulsatar Abduljabbar Rzokee and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2014-06-14 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has been tremendous interest in charge-transfer complex phenomena because of its wide applications in agricultural, industrial, biological activities, including anti-microbial, sedative, anticonvulsant and anti- in ammatory. Due to their cytotoxic, bactericide, and fungicide properties, CT complexes have found many applications in pharmaceutical industry. Some charge-transfer complexes have also been found to have high electrical conductivity. The objective of this work is to synthesize organic charge-transfer complexes in liquid and solid states and characterize them on the basis of spectroscopic techniques, including FT-IR, NMR, XRD, UV-Vis, Conductivity and Fluorescence spectroscopy. This book has been divided into four chapters. The first chapter is composed of an introduction on charge-transfer complexes, their types, theories and some characterization techniques. The Second, Third and Fourth chapters deal with the synthesis and spectral investigations electron-donor-acceptor-complexes in different polar solvents.

Book Charge Transfer Organic Photoelectrochemistry

Download or read book Charge Transfer Organic Photoelectrochemistry written by Katarzyna Rybicka-Jasińska and published by American Chemical Society. This book was released on 2023-12-08 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At first glance, the theories behind charge transfer and organic photoelectrocatalysis do not seem to have much in common. It turns out, however, that to carry out an effective organic synthesis using photoelectrocatalysis one needs a solid theoretical foundation in charge transfer, which is the topic of this primer. First, the authors introduce the theoretical foundation of charge transfer, focusing on electron transfer and hole transfer and how they relate to photochemistry and electrochemistry. Then, the authors move into applications of photoelectrochemistry in organic synthesis. A series of examples demonstrate the three types of synthetic photoelectrochemistry that have emerged in recent years.
