He also discusses the Seven State Counselors, and administrative powers. In addition, he looks at both military power and priestly power in Persia. Rollin knows that understanding the political history of Persia helps the reader get a greater understanding of Persia as a whole. To increase the reader's knowledge of Persian politics, Rollin dedicates the next section to discussing specific Persian Kings and their reigns. Ultimately, it is the politics of Persia that truly interest Rollin and he dedicates the end of the book to discussing that and its importance. But while dynasties are ruled by kings and are powerful at one point in time, Rollin leaves the reader with a final thought: "In this age, power and empire are in the hands of one people; in the next, a nation unheard of before comes forth, and rudely plucks it from their hands.
