Download or read book Mussel Incubation Method for Monitoring Organochlorine Compounds in Freshwater Recipients of Pulp and Paper Industry written by Sirpa Herve and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Academic dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. A biological method based on bioaccumulation and using incubated lake mussels was developed and applied for monitoring organic chlorocompounds originating especially from pulp and paper industry and occuring in the water in very small and fluctuating concentrations. Analysis of bleaching remanants from incubated mussels seemed to be very suitable for the monitoring of organochlorine compounds originating in the pulp and paper industry.

This book was released on 2021-04-01 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes current understandings and recent progress in four areas: in the first one, the cytochalasans, a group of fungal derived natural products characterized by a perhydro-isoindolone core fused with a macrocyclic ring are shown to exhibit high structural diversity and a broad spectrum of bioactivities. The second one is dedicated to a description of bioactive compounds from the medicinal plants of Myanmar, the third one is dedicated to new structure elucidation techniques in the field of sesquiterpenes. The last one discusses the endogenous natural products that are produced by human cells including endogenous amines, steroids, and fatty acid derived natural products. The co-metabolism and natural product production of the human microbiome is also described including tryptophan, bile acids, choline, and cysteine.

Book Determination Of Organic Structures By Physical Methods V6

Download or read book Determination Of Organic Structures By Physical Methods V6 written by F.C. Nachod and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Determination of Organic Structures by Physical Methods, Volume 6 is a six-chapter text that describes the refinements of some established physical methods for organic structure determination. The opening chapters examine the application of mass spectroscopy to amino acid sequencing of oligopeptides and the computerized organic structure retrieval. The following chapters discuss the historical developments, principles, instrumentation, and application of flash photolysis and 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance to structure determination. A chapter considers the relevant theory from which information on internuclear distances can be obtained and the steady-state measurements, transient methods, as well as the use of Fourier transform technique. This chapter also explores the application of nuclear overhauser effect measurements to structural and stereochemical problems. The concluding chapter deals with the liquid crystal structure determination using NMR spectroscopy. This work will be of value to organic and analytical chemists and researchers.

Book Discrimination of Chiral Compounds Using NMR Spectroscopy

Download or read book Discrimination of Chiral Compounds Using NMR Spectroscopy written by Thomas J. Wenzel and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-04-13 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive overview of the use of NMR spectroscopy for chiral discrimination Discrimination of Chiral Compounds Using NMR Spectroscopy concisely covers the broad array of reagents that make it possible to determine the optical purity and assign the absolute configuration of many classes of compounds. It describes chiral NMR derivatizing agents, solvating agents, metal-based reagents, and liquid crystals and discusses the range and types of compounds for which they can be used for analysis. After an overview of chiral reagents and methodologies, this reference: * Includes comprehensive coverage of the chiral reagents that have been reported * Catalogs the range of compounds for which different reagents have been shown to be effective * Includes specialty categories such as liquid crystals, ionic liquids, and the formation of chiral aggregates from achiral building blocks that do not fit into the broader categories * Offers experimental strategies for using the reagents that are likely to improve the quality of the results This guide describes the various systems and their overall utility, but goes further to show the full scope of the field as a way of guiding investigations into the optimal chiral reagents for use in NMR spectroscopy. It's a practical reference for organic chemists in the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and other areas, NMR spectroscopists, and researchers involved in the isolation and structure determination of natural products.
