This book was released on 1982 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Metal-Support and Metal-Additive Effects in Catalysis, Volume 11, documents the proceedings of an international symposium organized by the Institut de Recherches sur la Catalyse - CNRS - Villeurbanne and sponsored by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Ecully (Lyon), September 14-16, 1982. This volume contains 40 manuscripts that cover a wide range of topics. Among these are studies of metal-support interactions involving Pt/Al2O3, Pt/TiO2,Fe/TiO2, Pt/MgO, Rh /Al2O3, and Pt/CeO2 catalysts. There are also separate chapters dealing with ethane, n-butane, and cyclohexane hydrogenolysis; skeletal isomerization of methylpentanes; the catalytic activity and selectivity of noble metals; CO hydrogenation over supported on SiO2, Al2O3, Ti O2,and Zr O2 nickel catalysts; and the role of promoters in Pd catalysts for methanol synthesis. Subsequent chapters cover the poisoning of platinum and nickel by sulfur; C6H6 and CO chemisorption on Pt78Ni22 (111) single crystal alloy; the surface composition of industrial ammonia synthesis catalysts; and the role of alkalis and electronegative promoters on Fe and Ni catalysts.

Book Supported Metals in Catalysis

Download or read book Supported Metals in Catalysis written by James Arthur Anderson and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2012 with total page 581 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With contributions from experts in supported metal catalysis, from both the industry and academia, this book presents the latest developments in characterization and application of supported metals in heterogeneous catalysis. In addition to a thorough and updated coverage of the traditional aspects of heterogeneous catalysis such as preparation, characterization and use in well-established technologies such as Naphtha reforming, the book also includes emerging areas where supported metal catalysis will make significant contributions in future developments, such as fuel cells and fine chemicals synthesis. The second edition of Supported Metals in Catalysis comes complete with new and updated chapters containing important summaries of research in a rapidly evolving field. Very few other books deal with this highly pertinent subject matter, and as such, it is a must-have for anyone working in the field of heterogeneous catalysis.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is an increasing challenge for chemical industry and research institutions to find cost-efficient and environmentally sound methods of converting natural resources into fuels chemicals and energy. Catalysts are essential to these processes and the Catalysis Specialist Periodical Report series serves to highlight major developments in this area. This series provides systematic and detailed reviews of topics of interest to scientists and engineers in the catalysis field. The coverage includes all major areas of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis and also specific applications of catalysis such as NOx control kinetics and experimental techniques such as microcalorimetry. Each chapter is compiled by recognised experts within their specialist fields and provides a summary of the current literature. This series will be of interest to all those in academia and industry who need an up-to-date critical analysis and summary of catalysis research and applications. Catalysis will be of interest to anyone working in academia and industry that needs an up-to-date critical analysis and summary of catalysis research and applications. Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage in major areas of chemical research. Compiled by teams of leading experts in their specialist fields, this series is designed to help the chemistry community keep current with the latest developments in their field. Each volume in the series is published either annually or biennially and is a superb reference point for researchers. www.rsc.org/spr

Book Effects of Metal support Interactions on the Synthesis of Methanol Over Palladium

Download or read book Effects of Metal support Interactions on the Synthesis of Methanol Over Palladium written by and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper, the synthesis of methanol and other products from CO and H2 was studied over Pd catalysts prepared by adsorption of Pd(?-C3H3)2 on MgO, ZnO, La2O3, ?-Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2, and ZrO2 as well as over a SiO2-supported Pd catalyst prepared from PdCl2 and Pd black. Both the activity and selectivity of Pd were affected strongly by the nature of the support and the composition of the Pd precursor. The specific activity for methanol synthesis decreased in the order PdLa2O3 ” PdSiO2 [derived from PdCl2] > PdZrO2 > PdZnO ≈ PdMgO > PdTiO2 > PdAl2O3 ≈ PdSiO2 [derived from Pd(?-C3H5)2] ” Pd black, while the specific activity for hydrocarbon synthesis decreased in the order PdTiO2 >≈ PdZrO2 > PdLa2O3 > PdAl2O3 ≈ PdSiO2 [derived from PdCl2] >≈ PdSiO2 [derived from Pd(?-C33H5)2] ≈ Pd black ” PdMgO >≈ PdZnO. Dimethyl ether production was observed over four of the catalysts and the activity for formation of this product decreased in the order PdAl2O3 ” PdTiO2 ” PdMgO ≈ PdZrO2. Finally, the effects of support composition on the catalytic properties of Pd are discussed in the light of current ideas concerning metal-support interactions and the acid-base properties of the support.

Book Catalysis by Ceria and Related Materials

Download or read book Catalysis by Ceria and Related Materials written by Alessandro Trovarelli and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2013 with total page 909 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book follows the 2002 edition of Catalysis by Ceria and Related Materials, which was the first book entirely devoted to ceria and its catalytic properties. In the ten years since the first edition a massive amount of work has been carried out in the field, and ceria has gained a prominent position in catalysis as one of the most valuable material for several applications. This second edition covers fundamental and applied aspects of the latest advances in ceria-based materials with a special focus on structural, redox and catalytic features. Special emphasis is given to nano-engineered and nano-shaped systems which are a key factor in the predictive and rational design of ceria with novel properties. In addition, the book presents recent advances in emerging and traditional large-scale applications of ceria in catalysis, such as the treatment of emissions from mobile sources (including diesel and gasoline engines). The primary readership includes catalysis and material science researchers from academy and industry and postdoctorate and graduate students in chemistry, chemical engineering and physics.
