Download or read book International Joint Ventures in Brazil s Markets written by Siegfried Hotter and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2010 in the subject Business economics - Marketing, Corporate Communication, CRM, Market Research, Social Media, grade: 1,0, Munich University of Applied Sciences (Fakultät 09 für Wirtschafts-Ingenieurwesen: Master of Business Administration&Engineering), course: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Joint Venture (IJV) in Brazil, language: English, abstract: For several decades now, we are experiencing an unavoidable and strongly growing market globalization. Beyond the traditional export business, industrial globalization keeps penetrating the world ́s countries and markets under many different forms of international businesses and strategic alliances. This term paper describes, justifies and compares two forms of cross-border business expansion strategies into the Brazilian Market that a Multi-National-Corporation (MNC) may resort to: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Joint Venture (IJV). Their implementation strongly depends of the market type that a host country offers. A common denominator of both international market entry modes is the obviously advantageous presence of interests of the involved MNC ́s when trying to expand their businesses into host countries. This direct presence in a host country means additional speed to market and provides the MNC ́s far more possibilities of establishing, conducting and controlling international businesses, than the traditional export business. The generalizing statement made in the paragraph above is only meant to provide an introductory feeling on how the market of a host country determines the strategy for business expansion. Naturally, there are far more important facts and reasons to be considered that ultimately force investors into conducting extensive, deep and detailed analysis of not only the market conditions and structures found in pinpointed host countries of their interest, but much more must they make profound and accurate analys

Book Dependent Development

Download or read book Dependent Development written by Peter B. Evans and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2018-06-05 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In order to analyze Brazil's recent accumulation of capital in the light of its continued dependence, Peter Evans focuses on the relationships among multinational corporations, local private entrepreneurs, and state-owned enterprises that have developed in Brazil over the last decade. He argues that while relations among the three kinds of capital continue to be contradictory, a triple alliance has been formed that provides the social structural basis for the pattern of local industrialization that has emerged. The author begins with a review of the theories of imperialism and dependency in the third world. Placing the Brazilian experience of the last twenty years in its historical context, he traces the country's evolution from the period of "classic dependence" at the turn of the century to the current stage of "dependent development." In conclusion, Professor Evans discusses the implications of the Brazilian model for other third world countries. Examining the nature of the triple alliance as it is manifested in such industries as pharmaceuticals, textiles, and petrochemicals, the author reveals the complex differentiation of the groups' roles in industrialization and lays bare the grounds for their collaboration and their conflict. He consequently shows how the differing interests, power, and capabilities of the three groups have combined to produce a system promoting industrialization that benefits the elite partnership but excludes the larger population from the rewards of growth.

Book Enhancing the Brazil EU Strategic Partnership

Download or read book Enhancing the Brazil EU Strategic Partnership written by Michael Emerson and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The result of a joint project involving European and Brazilian scholars, this book examines ways to enhance the significance of the strategic partnership between the European Union and Brazil. It explores such key topics as - Addressing global macro-financial issues in the wake of the euro crisis - Trade relations - Climate change - Comparative regionalism - Paradigms for foreign policy The book looks at the partnership as a test case of how two players in the new multi-polar context can search for common positions on key issues of global governance. The EU and Brazil have reasonably promising grounds for working together and sharing democratic political values and common cultural roots, but Brazil is also an active member of the BRICS grouping, whose other members (notably China and Russia, but also India and South Africa) often take very different positions. The major world players are now involved in a burgeoning process of extraordinary complexity, at both multilateral and bilateral levels, searching for alliances in the shaping of a new world order. This book, limited to the bilateral EU-Brazil relationship, serves to cast clearer light on the issues.

Book Brazil China Relations in the 21st Century

Download or read book Brazil China Relations in the 21st Century written by Maurício Santoro and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-03-22 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the bilateral relationship between Brazil and China in modern history, environment, economics, and contemporary Brazilian politics. As China has become Brazil's largest trading partner, importing commodities and exporting manufactures, and a major investor in the country, Brazil's social structure has been upended, with traditional hierarchies jolted and new ones created- in the agribusiness, industry, in the diplomacy of climate change in the Amazon and not least, Brazil's traditional relationship with the United States. In this incisive text, one of Brazil's leading political scientists explores how China, the X factor of international relations, can transform a nation's politics; it will be of interest to economists, scholars of geopolitics, of China's Belt and Road Initiative and of Latin America politics.

Book Restoring the unwritten Alliance in Brazil United States Relations

Download or read book Restoring the unwritten Alliance in Brazil United States Relations written by Lawrence T. Brown and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the first half of the 20th Century, an "Unwritten Alliance" amicably existed between the United States and Brazil. This is not true today. Some suggest the two countries' strategic interests continue to diverge. This perception of divergence must be reversed. In response to Brazil's emergence as a world power, the United States must overhaul its bilateral security strategy for the world's 7th largest economy and Latin America's biggest military. Brazil's real genuine concerns with sovereignty and reciprocity along with negative American stereotypes that permeate Latin American culture will complicate this task. Nonetheless, there is opportunity to bring the U.S. and Brazil's diplomatic and security relationships closer together to build a strategic partnership based on common interests throughout the world. This paper proposes ways to strengthen these relationships through pursuit of common areas of interest. Failure to substantially improve U.S. relations with Brazil will cause its leaders to seek more advantageous relationships elsewhere -- to the detriment of the United States.
