Book excerpt: Les nombreuses études menées en France et dans le reste du monde au cours des vingt dernières années ont permis d'inscrire la qualité de l'air intérieur comme une problématique environnementale à part entière. L'enjeu de cette thèse repose sur l'évaluation de la qualité de l'air dans les bâtiments de bureaux, de sa qualification par le choix d'indicateurs pertinents à la recherche de solutions d'amélioration. Elle comporte deux volets aux objectifs complémentaires. Le premier traite de la caractérisation fine du potentiel des matériaux adsorbants pour la maîtrise de la qualité de l'air, sur la base de 6 polluants de familles chimiques différentes. Différents protocoles expérimentaux sont mis en œuvre afin de caractériser les différents aspects de la performance de 6 matériaux du marché, à savoir l'influence de la concentration sur les flux adsorbés, leur capacité d'adsorption, l'irréversibilité des processus, et la réduction des émissions des matériaux sur lesquels ils sont disposés. L'abattement des concentrations en formaldéhyde que peuvent procurer les matériaux adsorbants est ensuite évalué par des simulations de la qualité de l'air dans un bureau représentatif, en couplant une modélisation zonale des transferts aérauliques et de polluants dans l'ambiance à une modélisation détaillée des transferts dans les matériaux constitutifs des parois. Les résultats obtenus permettent d'analyser l'influence du type et de la position des matériaux adsorbants dans la pièce (plafond ou mur) et de juger de l'intérêt de recourir à ces matériaux par référence à d'autres stratégies de contrôle de la qualité de l'air. Le second volet de la thèse élargit la discussion en abordant la définition des traceurs les plus pertinents de la qualité de l'air dans les bâtiments de bureaux, en termes de risques sanitaires encourus par leurs occupants. Une méthode originale de hiérarchisation sanitaire des polluants présents dans l'air de ce type de bâtiments est proposée. 307 substances ayant fait l'objet de mesures de concentrations dans le monde sont ainsi évaluées vis-à-vis de leurs effets à seuil, via le calcul d'un indice de risque (IR), et de leurs effets cancérigène, mutagène, reprotoxique ou perturbateur endocrinien (CMRPE), via une classification de danger. Parmi elles, 57 sont considérées comme prioritaires de par leur classification CMRPE et 11 de par leur IR. Le mode de représentation graphique des résultats permet une sélection ou une actualisation facile des données, pour une analyse sur un périmètre géographique ou une période de mesure donnée, ou un suivi dynamique de la hiérarchisation. 130 substances dont certaines choisies car ne disposant pas ou peu de données de concentration dans la littérature ont fait l'objet d'une campagne de mesure dans 30 immeubles de bureaux de Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Les résultats obtenus permettent de compléter et d'affiner la hiérarchisation.

The 2018 TZG supports building by countries of the resilience and capacity to address emerging and endemic zoonotic diseases such as avian influenza, rabies, Ebola, and Rift Valley fever, as well as food-borne diseases and antimicrobial resistance, and to minimize their impacts on health, livelihoods, and economies. It additionally supports country efforts to implement WHO International Health Regulations (2005) and OIE international standards, to address gaps identified through external and internal health system evaluations, and to achieve targets of the Sustainable Development Goals. The 2018 TZG provides relevant country ministries and agencies with lessons learned and good practices identified from country-level experiences in taking OH approaches for preparedness, prevention, detection and response to zoonotic disease threats, and provides guidance on multisectoral communication, coordination, and collaboration. It informs on regional and country-level OH activities and relevant unisectoral and multisectoral tools available for countries to use.
