Download or read book Taking a Bath with Quartz Crystals written by Elizabeth Garzarelli and published by Lakelight Press. This book was released on 2021-06 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Crystals are part of ancient wisdom and they have been used as tools of protection, growth, and healing for a long time. Although a crystal does not create energy, it amplifies it. Nor does a crystal heal, but it conducts healing energies that are being channeled to you by the Earth or by your spirit guides. There are many ways to use quartz crystals, but using them in water is one of the most effective ways to "soak in" what a crystal has to offer you. Bathing with crystals enhances the natural healing powers of stones, infusing these vibrational frequencies of the quartz crystal into your body for the purposes of healing, higher awareness, grounding, and meditation. Elizabeth Garzarelli has been studying the healing properties of quartz crystals for over 20 years and presents this calming and enriching book, filled with gorgeous photos and simple-to-follow instructions. In Taking a Bath with Quartz Crystals you will learn the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits of 12 different healing crystal baths using Amethyst, Smoky Quartz, Lake Superior Agate, Carnelian, Bloodstone, Red Jasper, Onyx, Green Aventurine, Tiger's Eye, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz and Lemurian Seed Crystal. You will also learn: Breathing techniques and meditation in the bath. How to select crystals to use in the bath, and which ones are safe to bathe with. How to energetically cleanse your crystals. Other potential additions to your bath to further sweeten your time in the tub as essential oils, lighting, flowers and fruits, and music. "What a nurturing and powerful book. The author walks you through a journey of deep self-care and ritual. I loved her suggestions for which crystals to use for healing ailments and all her guidance as to how therapeutic baths have been used over the centuries. An exceptional, essential read for anyone who loves to bathe and wants to take it to the next level." - Dr. Shannon South, Therapist and Author Whether the bather is 8 or 88, woman or man, active or differently-abled, a quartz crystal bath offers a soothing, transformative experience.
Download or read book Made in Madagascar written by Andrew Walsh and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2012-10-04 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the 1990s, the Ankarana region of northern Madagascar has developed a reputation among globe-trotting gemstone traders and tourists as a source of some of the world's most precious natural wonders. Although some might see Ankarana's sapphire and ecotourist trades as being at odds with each other, many local people understand these trades to be fundamentally connected, most obviously in how both serve foreign demand for what Madagascar has to offer the world. Walsh explores the tensions and speculations that have come with the parallel emergence of these two trades with sensitivity and a critical eye, allowing for insights into globalization, inequality, and the appeal of the "natural." Download or read book Stones of Empire written by Jan Morris and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2005 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The attitude of the British to India was compounded partly of arrogance, but partly also of homesickness, and it shows in their constructions. Georgian terraces were adapted to tropical conditions, Victorian railway stations were elaborately orientalised, and seaside villas were adjusted to suit Himalayan conditions. This book, now reissued with a new introduction by Simon Winchester, is the first to describe the whole range of British constructions in India. Stones of Empire charts an enterprise in architecture, engineering, and social adaptation unique in human history.

Download or read book Luxury Arts of the Renaissance written by Marina Belozerskaya and published by Getty Publications. This book was released on 2005-10-01 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today we associate the Renaissance with painting, sculpture, and architecture—the “major” arts. Yet contemporaries often held the “minor” arts—gem-studded goldwork, richly embellished armor, splendid tapestries and embroideries, music, and ephemeral multi-media spectacles—in much higher esteem. Isabella d’Este, Marchesa of Mantua, was typical of the Italian nobility: she bequeathed to her children precious stone vases mounted in gold, engraved gems, ivories, and antique bronzes and marbles; her favorite ladies-in-waiting, by contrast, received mere paintings. Renaissance patrons and observers extolled finely wrought luxury artifacts for their exquisite craftsmanship and the symbolic capital of their components; paintings and sculptures in modest materials, although discussed by some literati, were of lesser consequence. This book endeavors to return to the mainstream material long marginalized as a result of historical and ideological biases of the intervening centuries. The author analyzes how luxury arts went from being lofty markers of ascendancy and discernment in the Renaissance to being dismissed as “decorative” or “minor” arts—extravagant trinkets of the rich unworthy of the status of Art. Then, by re-examining the objects themselves and their uses in their day, she shows how sumptuous creations constructed the world and taste of Renaissance women and men.
Download or read book The Beauty of Living Twice written by Sharon Stone and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2021-03-30 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER • Sharon Stone tells her own story: a journey of healing, love, and purpose. • “Not your typical Hollywood autobiography. Brutally honest, restless and questing.” —O, The Oprah Magazine Sharon Stone, one of the most renowned actresses in the world, suffered a massive stroke that cost her not only her health, but her career, family, fortune, and global fame. In The Beauty of Living Twice, Stone chronicles her efforts to rebuild her life and writes about her slow road back to wholeness and health. In a business that doesn’t accept failure, in a world where too many voices are silenced, Stone found the power to return, the courage to speak up, and the will to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children around the globe. Over the course of these intimate pages, as candid as a personal conversation, Stone talks about her pivotal roles, her life-changing friendships, her worst disappointments, and her greatest accomplishments. She reveals how she went from a childhood of trauma and violence to a career in an industry that in many ways echoed those same assaults, under cover of money and glamour. She describes the strength and meaning she found in her children, and in her humanitarian efforts. And ultimately, she shares how she fought her way back to find not only her truth, but her family’s reconciliation and love. Stone made headlines not just for her beauty and her talent, but for her candor and her refusal to “play nice,” and it’s those same qualities that make this memoir so powerful. The Beauty of Living Twice is a book for the wounded and a book for the survivors; it’s a celebration of women’s strength and resilience, a reckoning, and a call to activism. It is proof that it’s never too late to raise your voice and speak out.
