Book The Single Plane Golf Swing

Download or read book The Single Plane Golf Swing written by Todd Graves and published by BrownBooks.ORM. This book was released on 2015-03-03 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Through this wonderful book, frustrated golfers can learn to swing like Moe [Norman] and improve their games.” —Anthony Robbins, #1 New York Times–bestselling author The mysterious and reclusive genius Moe Norman is acknowledged as the best ball-striker in the history of golf by many of the game’s greats. The Single Plane Golf Swing: Play Better Golf the Moe Norman Way reveals the secrets of the swing that enabled him to hit the ball solidly with unerring accuracy and consistency—every time. Norman’s simple, efficient, and easily understood Single Plane Swing has improved the games of thousands of golfers. Golf professional Todd Graves, known as “Little Moe” and regarded as the world authority on Norman’s swing, comprehensively teaches readers the mechanics, drills, and feelings of the Single Plane Swing that Moe called “The Feeling of Greatness.” Graves shares Norman’s brilliant insights and liberating approach to the game and demonstrates why the conventional “tour” swing is too complex and frustrating for the majority of amateurs. Illustrated with more than 300 photographs and written with Tim O’Connor, Norman’s biographer, the book also engagingly tells Norman’s bittersweet life story and explores the teacher-student bond forged between Norman and his protégé Graves. “One of golf’s greatest untold stories, Moe Norman’s life illustrated a simple and powerful truth: greatness is built from practicing the right swing in the right way. In this book, Todd Graves has given us a blueprint for that swing, for those practice habits, and most of all for a process that builds success.” —Dan Coyle, New York Times-bestselling author of The Culture Code

Book Stickman Golf Swing

  • Release : 2017-02-11
  • ISBN : 9781544887920

Download or read book Stickman Golf Swing written by Eric Lodgins and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-02-11 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was participating in a scramble golf tournament in early spring 2016. It was the long driving hole - a par 5. I was one of the longer drivers in the group and I really wanted to bust one out there. I was feeling rickety that day (you know when your muscles are tight and you feel like your joints are kind of fused together). So I did what felt comfortable to me; I didn't realize it at the time, but it was the beta version of the STICKMAN Golf Swing. I pured it dead straight and long. Searching for a reliable golf swing is like trying to find the holy grail. It's a pipe dream. I was searching for 30 years. I was endlessly tinkering, watching youtube videos, seeking out tips from gurus and touring pros. Discovering the early version of the STICKMAN Golf Swing was like many beautiful discoveries. It was serendipitous. The STICKMAN Golf Swing was fully realized by me (a single digit handicap golfer) by the fall of 2016. Before STICKMAN, I was a student of the golf swing idea that you force yourself to primarily work a ball left or work a ball right. The idea was that if you know your tendency when you tee off, you can aim down the edge of the fairway and have the full width of the fairway at your disposal. I was a right-handed natural drawer of the ball, but when I got nervous or tried to take a big rip, I'd often block or slice the shot. And if you are aiming down the right side of the fairway expecting a draw, this can be nerve-wracking. So I learned how to reliably fade the ball. I found that if I was nervous or took a big swipe, I might get an exaggerated slice, but at least I was aiming along the left edge of the fairway. Sadly, over the decades, I just reinforced a slice swing that became shorter and shorter in distance and I never knew when it was going to be a gentle fade or a banana ball. So, from that moment - that "swing" - during the scramble tournament, I made it my mission to search for the golf swing holy grail with unequaled passion and fury. Pounding out balls at the driving range: playing round after round of golf (much to the chagrin of my wife and children who not surprisingly did not share this passion). I practiced the "swing". I honed the "swing". It's straight: it's long: it's repeatable; it's kinder to the body. it's amazing. I took copious notes. I wrote this book. I'm so excited to share it with you. Especially if you are frustrated with your golf swing and are thinking about giving up golf altogether! Last Spring, I shored up my golf knowledge by passing all requirements for Canadian Golf Teachers Federation membership (an affiliate of the American based World Golf Teachers Federation). Secondly, I took on 3 frustrated, senior-aged golfers this past summer to teach them STICKMAN. Two of the chaps had to pause golf for medical reasons. Graciously, they assured me that it wasn't because of my method or me pushing too hard. In fact, they have asked to reconnect next spring. The third fellow, Daryle, had amazing success. At first, I thought Daryle was going to give up on the swing. He was struggling with all these new ideas while battling his previous, more comfortable swing. But, at the 2 month mark, he started hitting the ball longer, straighter and more consistently. Here's what he has to say: "I recommend the STICKMAN Golf Swing method wholeheartedly. I haven't had such command of my ball since I was a junior. If you are struggling with your game, do yourself a favor and try Eric's technique. " Consider adopting this swing method and bringing back joy to your game.

A couple of caveats before you buy my book (in the spirit of full transparency): One, I have never taught this swing to anyone. Although as an engineer and executive, I have taught a lot of things to a lot of people - just saying. Two, I am not a golf instructor. Just a golf nut who pays attention to patterns. But, to that end, I have recruited 3 frustrated golfers to teach them the STICKMAN golf swing over an 8 week stretch this spring/summer and I have enrolled this spring to become a certified golf instructor through the Canadian Golf Teachers Federation. I certainly hope to amend this introduction later this summer with some impressive letters after my name and glowing testimonials. Take comfort that if you buy my book and it's completely worthless to you, email me and I'll refund you your money.

Book The Stack and Tilt Swing

Download or read book The Stack and Tilt Swing written by Michael Bennett and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2009-11-12 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An in-depth, full-color, step-by-step guide to the new golf swing that has taken the PGA Tour by storm The traditional golf swing requires a level of coordination that few golfers have. So it's no surprise that, despite huge advances in club and ball technology, the average golf handicap in America has dropped by only one stroke since 1990. Maverick golf instructors Michael Bennett and Andy Plummer spent a decade researching the swing, eventually combining physiology and physics to create a method they dubbed the "Stack and Tilt." The result? Big-name pros like Mike Weir, Tommy Armour III, and Aaron Baddeley are already converts, and Bennett and Plummer are now two of the most soughtafter swing coaches in the game. Making these breakthroughs available to everyone, The Stack and Tilt Swing is a handsome, fully illustrated, complete course, packed with more than two hundred full-color photographs that make it easy for golfers at all levels to adopt this radical yet simple approach. Analyzing why the traditional swing won't work for most golfers, the authors explain the importance of keeping the upper body stacked over the lower body, while the spine tilts toward the target during the backswing, greatly reducing the inconsistencies created by the old-fashioned approach. Enhanced with practice routines, a troubleshooting list, test cases, and point-by-point assistance, this is the breakthrough guide to golf's hot new secret weapon.

Download or read book The Golf Swing written by Chris Riddoch and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012-09-16 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'An effective golf swing will produce a thousand correct positions - but a thousand correct positions won't produce an effective golf swing'. Using a thorough analysis of more than 200 research articles, author Chris Riddoch - a scratch golfer in his teens and one of the UK's leading sports scientists - explains why this statement is true. In The Golf Swing, he describes why we must avoid the endless technical complexities of the 'swing theory quagmire'. He explains how dissecting the swing into countless angles and positions and trying to recombine them actually stifles our best learning weapon - our powerful, innate skill-learning mechanisms, which thrive on simplicity. The Golf Swing combines two sciences: golf swing mechanics and human skill learning. The result is an approach to swing development based on just four movement skills - key skills - each of which can be learnt using the simplest of swing thoughts. In contrast to other books - which merely describe the swing - The Golf Swing explains the best way to learn it. Grounded firmly in high-quality science, yet written in a non-scientific, entertaining style, The Golf Swing cuts through the buzzing bewilderment that surrounds the golf swing. All golfers - from beginners to tournament professionals - will benefit. 'For any other human skill, we know we can do it, but we don't know how we do it. In the golf swing, it's the opposite - we know everything about how to do it, but we can't DO it'.
