Book excerpt: Excerpt from Steps in the Paths of Righteousness: A Fortnight of Christian Thought True friendship must be mutual and reciprocal. A one-sided friendship is no friendship at all. To love without return may be noble, inspiring, elevating in its tendencies and effects, but it is not friendship. To devote our lives, and concentrate our interests upon one who does not need us, who looks upon us with kindly patronage, but who feels no necessity for our love, no void in his heart without it - this is not the ideal of friendship, and our Saviour would not offer us this hollow mockery of the purest and tenderest relationship possible to man. Book 1 2 3 John Interpretation Book

Download or read book 1 2 3 John Interpretation Book written by David Kwak and published by GOOGLE. This book was released on 2023-09-01 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Bible, the age before Jesus Christ came to the world have been called the age of the Old Testament and the age after Jesus Christ came to the world have been called the age of the New Testament. The Old Testament as the Law means that God gave the Scriptures through the angels as the messenger of God to the Prophets in order to make the Israelites serve to God. These scriptures are the first covenant of God, thus the Old Testament is called the first covenant as well. By the way, the Israelites as the dependents of Abraham symbolized the chosen people of God who God had predestined as his people before God created the heavens and the earth. Thus, the Israelites were God's people in the age of the Old Testament and the chosen people of God have been God's people in the age of the New Testament. In this way the Old Testament means the first covenant as the Law that God gave to make the Israelites keep it by their mind of the flesh for their living with the flesh in the world. Thus, the Law became the regulation of their living with the flesh. By the way, their mind of the flesh has been tempted by the messenger of the devil just as the serpent in the Eden Garden tempted the mind of the flesh of Eve as the wife of the Adam. The Israelites as the human being have to live with their mind of the flesh without their spirit that can follow God who is spirit. Because the human being has been born with the dead spirit as the guilty conscience without their spirit as good conscience due to Adam's sin that followed the temptation of the serpent instead of the command of God in the Eden Garden. This is called as the original sin of human being. And in the age of the New Testament as the age of the new covenant or the age of the Salvation, Jesus who came to the world and the apostles preached the world of truth of God as the gospel of Christ to the chosen people of God to save them through their spirit born again from their dead spirit due to Adam's sin. (See the messages of John 3:3-5) The word of truth of God as the gospel means the New Covenant as the law of the Spirit, but not the first covenant as the Law. And the new covenant as the law of the Spirit become the regulation of the spiritual living for God's people. It means that the Scriptures in the New Testament become the word of truth of God as the gospel of Christ for the salvation of the chosen people of God. So that the gospel has the spiritual meaning in the messages instead of the literal meaning of the messages in order to save God's people. Because the one who are born again from the dead spirit due to Adam's sin must be aware spiritually of the gospel in order to follow the will of God who is spirit for the spiritual living by his spiritual new life as his new self instead of the living of the flesh by his old self that lived with his mind of the flesh. As the mentioned above, now we have to be aware spiritually of the gospel as the new covenant becoming the New Testament in order to be saved from our original sin due to Adam's sin in the Eden Garden. Therefore through this books with the Spiritual Interpretation, you, as the chosen people of God are able to be aware spiritually of the world of truth of God as the new covenant for your salvation. When you read this books, the spiritual messages of God that are living with the power of God will lead you to be born again with good conscience from the dead spirit due to Adam's sin as the original sin.

Book excerpt: As believers in Christ we cannot always be on the frontline of the battlefield in our service. There are times when the Lord Himself will take us aside and refresh us with new revelation and strength to continue the work which He has begun. If we take time to spend time listening to God, He will speak to us and give us direction for the next step of our spiritual journey. The disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem until; they were endued with power from on high which would enable them to fully achieve all that the Lord had asked them to do. This collection of short books depicts aspects of my Personal journey and the instruction I have received from the Lord as to how I can become effective for service in His Kingdom.

Book The Universal History of Step anos Tar nec i

Download or read book The Universal History of Step anos Tar nec i written by Tim Greenwood and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017 with total page 375 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Universal History of Step), anos Tar'nec), i is a history of the world in three books, composed by the Armenian scholar at the end of the tenth century and extending from the era of Abraham to the turn of the first millennium. It was completed in 1004/5 CE, at a time when the Byzantine Empire was expanding eastwards across the districts of historic Armenia and challenging key aspects of Armenian identity. Step), anos responded to these changing circumstances by looking to the past and fusing Armenian tradition with Persian, Roman, and Islamic history, thereby asserting that Armenia had a prominent and independent place in world history. The Universal History was intended to affirm and reinforce Armenian cultural memory. As well as assembling and revising extracts from existing Armenian texts, Step), anos also visited monastic communities where he learned about prominent Armenian scholars and ascetics who feature in his construction of the Armenian past. During his travels he gathered stories about local Armenian, Georgian, Persian, and Kurdish lords, which were then repeated in his composition. The Universal History therefore preserves a valuable narrative of events in Byzantium, Armenia, and the wider Middle East in the second half of the tenth century. This volume presents the first ever English translation of this work, drawing upon Manukyan's 2012 critical edition of the text, and is also the first study and translation of the Universal History to be published outside Armenia for a century. Fully annotated and with a substantial introduction, it not only provides an accessible guide to the text, drawing on the most up-to-date scholarship available, but also offers valuable new insights into the significance of an often overlooked work, the intellectual and literary contexts within which it was composed, and its place in the Armenian tradition.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity must have food and drink each day in order to survival. Humanity must pause for a time of rest each day in order to maintain the strength to perform the task of the following day. Humanity must enter into some type of relationship with another person each day unless he began to feel isolated and inferior. Just as the physical and psychological aspects of man must have certain needs met each day, so must the spirit of man. We may go with the fl ow for awhile, but deep within the confi des of humanity is the soul. And that soul must experience and enjoy a renewal. Such renewal is found in a daily relationship with the Creator of life. Man must pause from his daily routine and purposefully focus on the Word of God which in turn will enrich, encourage and enable him to face each circumstance and condition that a days activities may confront him. The Bible declares, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 4):31 KJV). Within the pages of this daily devotional, you will fi nd strength, stability and satisfaction awaiting you each step of every day.
