Book excerpt: A saga of an Italian Family of Immigrants in America during early 1900 The family's historical living and memoir accountings and historical happenings of legendary events as visualized and extended from the thrust of the first renaissance choosing "Knowledge and Experience" over "Will of Desire!" Steerage and amour affaire d'amour (A Lover Affair) and Affaire de Coeur (Affair of Heart) that demands the pursuit of happiness! The overall story was as defined as roman-fleuve, like a long novel chronicling the history of several generations of this Italian Divita family as related to the turbulent societal and political climate, especially in Italy and other times in America during critical warring across the world. The mental formulations improved under continuous verbal teachings and interactions all related to steerage and amour. Flashbacks are used to related different parts of the story to relate understanding how the Divita family came to be fully disclosed and included from 1910. Their lives were based on revisited facts, memories, and enhanced stories; some maybe infused with enthusiastic legends born from sincere love or braggadocios. Memoirs become established from memories of elders for elaboration and exhibition and passed on to their progeny.
