Rocky River on the Avalon Peninsula was the site of a colonization project where a run of Atlantic salmon was established. Little River, which flows into the Bay d'Espoir, is the site of an ongoing ranching project with associated fry stocking. The intent of this document is to review the status of Atlantic salmon stocks in the two watersheds in 1998. Information is included on watershed characteristics, conservation requirements, enhancement/stocking activities, management restrictions, salmon fecundity, egg depositions, smolt counts, smolt to adult survival, egg to smolt survival, parr rearing, and predicted versus observed adult returns.
